Electrical Machines, including motors, generators and transformers, are used widely in industrial, commercialand domestic applications and consume an estimated 60% of global electricity supply.

Understanding the design, operation, control and maintenance of these machines is therefore a core part of an Engineer or service technician’s training.

The HFT Education Electrical Machines range has been designed for studying the most commonly used electrical machines, their applications and combined operation, in a safe educational environment.

The range includes single-phase and three-phase AC machines, DC machines, brushless motors, permanent magnet machines, servo drives, transformers, motor and transformer winding equipment and the power supplies, loads and instrumentation required for comprehensive experimentation.

Each electrical machine has a male and female coupling, allowing multiple machine shafts to be connected for more advanced experimentation.

The machines are rated at 300-500W and are real industrial machines, that give scalable, repeatable results that represent real applications. HFT Education can supply both 100-200W and 1kW Electrical Machines on request.

EME260Computerised Measurement System

A computerised measurement system with data acquisition and control software, for measuring AC and DC voltages, currents and powers, speed and force of rotating machines, and temperatures.

The system is supplied with temperature probes, a strain gauge load cell for torque measurement and an optical transducer for speed measurement. Software is used to display measured values in real time, create trends and graph values.

The EME260 can be used for automatic tests with the EME291 Programmable AC/DC Power Supply.

A Digital Torque Meter consisting of a load cell connected to a digital display, for measuring the torque of electrical machines.

The torque meter is recommended for use with the EME230 DC Dynamometer. The load cell mounts directly on the DC machine.

EME266Digital Torque, Speed and Mechanical Power Meter

A Digital Torque, Speed and Mechanical Power measuring system for use with Electrical Machines from the EME200 Electrical Machines range.

The unit includes an optical reflection transducer for speed measurement and a 20 kg load cell for torque measurement. Measured values are displayed on a digital display, or on a computer using the optional data acquisition software.

EME267Electronic Digital Revolution Counter

A digital microprocessor instrument for measuring the RPM of any rotating device without the need for a mechanical coupling.

The unit can also be used as an impulse counter or a chronometer and includes a selector switch for setting the relay trip value according to a set-point value.
