The seven-day competitionwill start with the men’sfreestyle tournament, followedby women’s freestyle andGreco-Roman.

Burroughs is shooting for histhird straight World freestyletitle after winning a gold medalat the 2011 Worlds in Istanbul,Turkey and the 2013 Worlds inBudapest, Hungary.

Varner is back looking strongagain after taking most of the2013 season off. He wonOlympic gold in his last majorinternational event in 2012.

Teammate Tervel Dlagnev islooking to return to the medalpodium at heavyweight.

Dlagnev won a bronze medalin his first trip to the WorldChampionships in 2009.

Dlagnev placed fifth at the2011 Worlds and 2013 Worlds,and 2012 Olympic Games.

Lester is a two-time Worldbronze medalist in Greco-Roman in 2006 and 2007before placing fifth in 2011.

Burnett was named theNational FreestyleCoach for USAWrestling in May 2014.Burnett lead the men’sfreestyle programthrough the 2016Olympic Games in Riode Janiero, Brazil.Burnett served as theNational FreestyleCoach for USAWrestling for two Olympic cycles, from 1993-2000,which are considered among the most successfulfor the United States in history. During his eightyears leading the program, the United States wonthe World Team titles in men’s freestyle in both1993 in Toronto, Canada and 1995 in Atlanta, Ga.,the only two times in history. In addition, theUnited States won the medal count in men’sfreestyle at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta,Ga.Burnett was an employee for USA Wrestling for12 years, also serving as the NationalDevelopmental Coach for USA Wrestling duringthe 1989-92, handling the coaching and develop-ment of U.S. age group wrestlers.During his previous tenure as National FreestyleCoach, Burnett coached many of the greatestwrestlers in American wrestling history. Hecoached Olympic champions Kendall Cross, TomBrands and Kurt Angle at the 1996 OlympicGames in Atlanta, and Olympic championBrandon Slay at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney,Australia.Nine U.S. athletes won 11 World titles duringBurnett’s previous tenure as National FreestyleCoach.A total of 17 athletes who competed on thefreestyle national team under Burnett’s leadershiphave been elected into the National Wrestling Hallof Fame.Burnett became the head coach at the U.S. NavalAcademy after leaving USA Wrestling in the fall of2000, serving 13 years leading the Navy staff untilhis retirement in September, 2013.Burnett led the Midshipmen to a 113-57 record(.665) that featured six-straight seasons of 10 ormore wins from 2002-07. Johnston of San Diego,Calif. has been named aU.S. World Team coachfor the first time.Johnston has been activecoaching a number ofU.S. Senior teams in thelast two years. She was acoach at the FILA GoldenGrand Prix Finals inAzerbaijan in 2013 and2014. She also coached Senior teams at thePoland Open and Grand Prix of Spain, as well asthe 2013 Battle at the Falls in Niagara Falls.Johnston returned to coaching in the last fewyears after taking time to raise her family. Shewas a coach at the 2001 Pan AmericanChampionships in Santo Domingo, DominicanRepublic, where the team won four of the six goldmedals and had a medal in every weight class.She also coached the U.S. team at the 2001Junior World Championships in Martigny,Switzerland, where the USA won two medals.Competing under her maiden name AfsoonRoshanzamir, she was a star in the early years ofthe U.S. Women's wrestling program, before itwas an Olympic sport. She was considered one ofthe true pioneers of women's wrestling in thisnation.In 1989, at the World Championships in Martigny,Switzerland, she was the first American woman towin a World medal when she captured a bronzemedal. In 1990, she was a World silver medalist.She made four U.S. World teams, including a fifthplace finish in the 1992 World Championships.Johnston won three U.S. Open national titles andplaced second twice. She was also second at theWorld Team Trials two times. She captured inter-national medals in the USA, France, Russia,Poland and Canada.She competed on the men's wrestling team atUC-Davis, and was also on the varsity wrestlingteam for Independence High School in San Jose,Calif. She made her first U.S. Senior Worldfreestyle team while still competing in high school.Johnston became the first woman to referee aDiv. I wrestling match, when she filled in as refer-ee for a UC-Davis dual meet when the assignedofficial did not attend. She was a local wrestlingreferee on the high school level while she attend-ed college.Johnston worked as a physical therapist for manyyears. She is married to Byron Johnston, and theyhave three children, Aiden, Samira and Layla.

Conti has been named aU.S. World Team coachfor the second straightyear.Conti has served as aU.S. women’s coach fora number of internation-al events since 2008.Conti was part of theAmerican coaching stafffor the 2012 OlympicGames in London.He was on the Team USA staff at the JuniorWorld Championships from 2009-11. Five of theseven 2013 U.S. Senior World Team memberscompeted on the Junior World Teams that hehelped coach.In 2013, Conti was part of the coaching staff atthe Pan American Championships in PanamaCity, Panama, along with the Battle at the Fallsevent in Niagara Falls and the Poland Open.In 2013, he was named women’s coach for theNew York Athletic Club.Conti, a native of Fredonia, N.Y., has been ateacher and coach in the public school system for27 years (nine in California and the past 18 inNew York).Conti has been a highly successful high schoolcoach in California and New York.Since 2003, he has coached 22 state placewin-ners, 11 state finalists and five state champions inNew York. He coaches at Fredonia High School.In 2009, he coached the first female, CarleneSluberski, to ever place in the New York statetournament. Sluberski placed second.He served as the New York USA Wrestlingwomen’s director from 2008-11.Conti wrestled collegiately for Ball State,Jamestown (N.Y.) Community College and SUNY-Brockport.He compiled a 9-1 record against internationalcompetition, including going 3-1 for a team thatcompeted in Iraq in 1980.Conti and his wife, Stacy, have a son,Christopher, and a daughter, Alissa. Christopherwrestled for the University of Buffalo and Alissaruns track and cross country and for the StateUniversity of New York in Fredonia.

SullivanAward and was named USA Wrestling Greco-Roman Wrestler of the Year in 1998.Lindland stepped away from wrestling to becomehighly successful while competing in mixed martialarts.In 2000, Lindland started coaching wrestling andMMA at his Team Quest gym in Portland, Ore.Lindland compiled a 22-9 record in MMA andfought in the Ultimate Fighting Championships.Lindland was the top-ranked middleweight in theworld during his fighting career.He won his first four fights in the middleweightdivision of the UFC before losing to MuriloBustamante in a championship match at UFC 37.Lindland, an Oregon native, competed for theUniversity of Nebraska, where he was a Big 8champion and an NCAA qualifier for theCornhuskers.He also competed for two years at ClackamasCommunity College, where he was a 1991 nation-al junior college champion.Lindland was as an assistant coach at Nebraskawhile continuing to train in Greco.He served as a coach and mentor for BradVering, who won an NCAA title for Nebraskabefore winning a World silver medal and becom-ing a two-time Olympian in Greco-Roman.Lindland and his wife, Angie, have a son, James,and a daughter, Robin.

Two of the U.S. wrestlers Petkovicworked closely with - Brad Vering (second) andLindsey Durlacher (fifth) - turned in key perform-ances that led to that historic team victory.He also coached Joe Warren to a World title in2006 in Guangzhou, China, and coached AdamWheeler to an Olympic bronze medal in 2008 inBeijing, China.Petkovic was a 1976 Olympic gold medalist inGreco-Roman wrestling, competing for the formerYugoslavia. He also claimed three World silvermedals in 1978, 1979 and 1981, and a Worldbronze medal in 1977.Petkovic placed fourth at the 1984 OlympicGames in Los Angeles. He wrestled international-ly in Greco-Roman from 1970-84.He came to the United States in 1986. He servedas a club coach for the New York Athletic Club forsix years.He was a member of the 2000 U.S. Greco-Roman Olympic Team coaching staff, as well asthe 2001 U.S. Greco-Roman World Team coach-ing staff. Javansalehi was amember of the 2013U.S. Greco-RomanWorld Team staff. Hewas a coach for the2014 Greco-RomanWorld Cup team whichcompeted in Tehran,Iran, and also coachedat the 2014 GranmaCup in Cuba. He alsohas been among thestaff coaches at the U.S. Greco-Roman WorldTeam Training Camps for the last three years.He has been an active coach on the local levelsin both Salt Lake City, Utah and in Portland,Ore. During his years in Oregon, he has beenan assistant coach at Douglas High School,Forest Grove High School, Hillsboro HighSchool and Liberty High School, as well as atPacific University. Javansalehi also helpedcoach with the Cobra USA club in the late1990s.He was a successful international Greco-Roman wrestler in Iran before moving to theUnited States. He competed in the 1992 and1996 Olympic Games, and won four AsianChampionships or Asian Games medals,including a gold medal at the 1992 AsianChampionships. He also was a four-time col-lege national Greco-Roman champion for TabrizUniversity in Iran, where he started the programand was an athlete and coach.Ahad started wrestling Greco-Roman as ateenager, the first Greco-Roman wrestler in thecity of Ardebil, where he trained under hisbrother Yasoub, Iran’s 1992 and 1996 OlympicGreco-Roman coach.At the age of 17, Javansalehi was both theIranian Junior and Senior champion in hisweight class. Under his brother’s coaching skill,the city of Ardebil quickly became the topGreco-Roman city in Iran, dominating thenational championships for over a decade.

Halvorson has coachednumerous major age-group Greco-Romanteams for USAWrestling. In 2013, hewas the Head Coach ofthe Junior Greco WorldTeam in Bulgaria. In2012, he coached at theCadet WorldChampionships inAzerbaijan, and theJunior World Championships in Thailand.Halvorson was a 2006 FILA Junior World Teamcoach, He was an assistant coach for the 2003University World Team at the Olympic HopesTournament in Hungary.
