WThe school is located in a small village, Lagos. Province of

Málaga in the “Costa del Sol”, southern Spain.

Flanked by the Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama,

from Agualivar Spanish School you can see the highest

peak of the region, “The Maroma”. And if you look

southwards, you have a view of the Mediterranean Sea

and its beaches just 300 metres. Our location allows you

to walk to the beach and but at the same time, find the

relaxation you need in our rural house. Agualivar

Spanish School offers you an unique experience to learn

Spanish due to its natural and rural setting. We are not

only teaching Spanish but we are also working hard to

transmit values and sustainable principles, bringing

people into rural settings and promoting good

environmental practices.

L The group is 4 students maximum –

average 2 or 3 students -, as are the rooms we have at home.

The lessons will consist of a range of all skills - reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and culture according to your language learning needs. Usually the tuition is in the morning, leaving the afternoons and evenings free for activities, visits and excursions or private study. At the beginning of the course, the teacher will assess your level of Spanish and requirements, and plan a programme of study. You will be assessed again at the end of the course to record progress. A full report of lesson content, achievement, and recommendations for future study will be sent to you after the end of the course, as well as your certificate. The great advantage of this programme is you live in the house with us, so that learning doesn’t stop at the end of the lesson - in every conversation we are helping you to speak Spanish - finding the right words and correcting grammar and pronunciation.

XCURSIONS. You can choose from a wide range of local excursions and activities including: sports (golf, diving,

Ekayak, canyoning, walking), cultural activities such as museums and exhibitions; bowling, cinema, theatre, restaurants and local attractions. Our cities have excellent shopping centres, tourist attractions and traditional

pubs.Day trips are arranged to Seville, Cordoba or Granada, where is the Alhambra, declared World Heritage Monument by the UNESCO. It's one of the ten most visited monuments in the world, together with the Chinese wall or the Eiffel tower. Andalusia is famous for its White Villages, with its narrows streets and houses with full courtyards of owers. A lot of excursions to these charming villages are available, to know its local craft, products and people. In addition, Spain and Andalusia have always been renowned for its rich gastronomy. Therefore tapas routes, wine cellars visits, wine tastings and much more are arranged too.All excursions and trips are based on the age and interests of the student and are planned with us at the start of the course. There are half and full day trips (full day trips at the weekend). You can indicate which activities you would prefer and we can then advise on cost.

VERY NICE LOCATION

The school, which is located in the city of Lagos in Málaga province, is a rural house southern Spain situated only 300 metres from the beach.

Here, the students, that is our guests, wil l learn Spanish in a family environment and in a very different way from a traditional school.

A rural house in the Axarquía Malagueña, a well-connected area close to the main tourist cities and attractions.

FAMILY TIME

Time spent with us during meals and evenings is a good opportunity for you to practice your spoken Spanish and to use the language you have studied in the lessons.

You can learn as much during these times as you do in your lessons. We are always there to talk to you and help.

Living with us also gives you an unique opportunity to experience and learn about Spanish and Andalusia culture and way of life.

STANDARD SPANISH COURSE 10

Our 10-hours STANDARD COURSE consists of ten hours Spanish lessons per week, given from Monday to Friday. We start every Monday and at all levels.

This course has been designed for those who desire to begin or perfect their Spanish knowledge and at the same time, to have free time to enjoy a holiday in an idyllic setting.

You can learn Spanish and make the most of the activities made by Agualivar Spanish School.

Each day the course starts with grammatical content and vocabulary in the first hour, followed by writing, phonetics and conversation in the second hour.

INTENSIVE SPANISH COURSE 20

Our 20-hour INTENSIVE COURSE consists of 20 hours Spanish lessons per week. 2 hours daily from Monday to Friday. We start every Monday and at all levels.

This course is designed for people who would like to perfect their Spanish knowledge and get maximum results in minimum time.

Every day, the course starts with grammatical concepts, vocabulary, writing and phonetics in the first two hours, followed by a short break to rest or have a little breakfast. In the last two hours, we continue with conversation sessions, integrating activities and tasks such as: telephone conversations, public presentations on various topics, etc.

Classes are dynamic and lively, with an active methodology which introduces you to the reality of our culture and language through games and simulations.

D.E.L.E. PREPARATION COURSE

Our D.E.L.E. Course comprises 25 hours Spanish lessons per week. This course is given from Monday to Friday, 5 hours daily. We start every Monday and at all levels.

This course is specially designed to pass D.E.L.E. exams, and for this reason is suitable for those who want to take D.E.L.E. exams.

It’s an intensive course that requires commitment and constancy. Although it’s possible to register for two weeks, 4 weeks minimum is recommended to obtain the best results.

D.E.L.E. exams are necessary to obtain the "Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language", recognized by Spanish authorities.

Following the teacher’s guidelines with dedication and discipline, obtaining the D.E.L.E. is a strong possibility.

SPANISH CONVERSATION COURSE

Combine our 10-hour Standard course with 2 private classes per day, given from Monday to Friday. This program has been developed with those in mind who want to progress more quickly at a conversational level. It is desirable to have a level of Spanish in order to perfect the level of knowledge.

The classes are dynamic in order to enrich your vocabulary and fluency. Topical and cultural issues, plus issues of interest to the students are discussed.

Each day the course starts with grammatical content and vocabulary in group, followed by writing, phonetics and conversation. At the end of the second group hour, the library and video library will be avaible to use, as well as the rest of the educational resources.

ONE TO ONE CLASSES

According to your needs, we offer you the number of classes you would like. Private lessons are for all levels. We recommend these for students who need to know specific vocabulary and those who need these to complete the standard and intensive courses.

The one to one lessons are intensive one hour classes and aim to builtd your conversational confidence by improving fluency, pronunciation, and intonation in relevant professional and social situations.

SPANISH COURSE FOR RESIDENTS

This course is designed for foreigners over the age of 55 residing in our region who desire to learn Spanish and enjoy a beautiful setting, and at the same time meet other people who share likes and interests. Enjoy conversation, while learning more about our country.

You can choose between Breakfast & Speaking or Tea Time & Speaking.

This course consist of two sessions a week, 90 minutes per session. A group of minimum 4 people enjoy a healthy breakfast or snack, during which time the group receives Spanish classes from a qualified teacher. In these classes, which have a similar methodology to one-to-one lessons, you talk about topics of interest, culture, arts, environmental, etc.

Choose among sports like diving, golf, hiking, canyoning or kayak; Cultural Visits with professional guides, visiting cities like Granada, Seville, Córdoba,

Málaga and their more well-known monuments, museums and charming places; Gastronomic Tours, visiting wine cellars, oil-mills and many more places of interest that we invite you to discover.

SPANISH COURSE + DIVING

Enjoy the diving experience in the Mediterranean Sea.

This program allows you to combine your Spanish course with one of the more exciting sports activities.

· If you are a qualified diver, you will accomplish the numbers of dives you want. Consult us for the prices.

All dives include: insurance, full equipment hire, instructor, transfer to diving location and boat hire, if it´s necessary.

· If you aren´t a qualified diver, you can choose between two options:

· If you want to prepare for a PADI accreditation:

Open Water Diver includes insurance, material, theory and practical lessons, full equipment hire, logbook and card application.

· If you prefer to explore the underwater world first, and feel the excitements of diving before obtaining your Open Water Diver accreditation, you can choose an other PADI accreditation: Discover Scuba Diving.

With this certification you learn the basic techniques and it will serve as credit for your Open Water Diver if you desire to obtain it later. This accreditation includes insurance, theory and practical lessons, full equipment hire and instructor.

SPANISH COURSE + ADVENTURESPORTS

Agualivar Spanish School offers you a program full of adventure and adrenalin to combine with your Spanish classes.

We have a wide range of activities that take place in authentic landscapes of our region. As well as being in direct contact with nature.

You will enjoy an environment that will surprise you.

In this program, we suggest three activities per week, like a hiking route through the Sierra de Málaga, Canyoing by Río Verde, or Kayac routes along the cliffs of Nerja.

Our activities change weekly, we make different routes according to the changes in the seasons and the beauty of the landscapes.

All our sports activities include insurance, transfers, qualified instructors, and materials and equipment hire when necessary.

SPANISH COURSE + GOLF

Courses for beginners or advanced with a qualified teacher on golf courses nearby School.

Beginners Course: 3 Golf Lessons with a qualified teacher,1 course lesson, materials. Does not include the golf balls.

Advanced Course: 6 Golf Lessons with a qualified teacher, 2 course lessons, materials, detailed technical report of “mistakes/corrections”, 1 Free Lesson and free gloves. Does not include the golf balls.

This program is ideal for those who want to enjoy the pleasures of good food, to get to know and get closer to the Spanish and Andalusian gastronomic culture. Our rich gastronomy is renowned. Without a doubt this program is one of the most tasty to combine with your Spanish lessons. Enjoy three activities linked to gastronomic culture per week:

Workshop Spanish Cooking: Theory and practical lessons from 3 to 4 hours approximately, in which you learn how to cook typical Spanish dishes. Included are the materials and products needed for the recipes, tasting the prepared dishes and a recipe book.

Wine Tasting: Theory and practical lesson of 2 hours approximately, in which you will be introduced to the world of wine and the sensations it gives. You will learn to recognize the characteristics of wine quality, processing and guidelines to follow for your tasting.

Tapas & Wine Tour: Gastronomic route through bars and restaurants in the area, where you taste a large selection of the most delicious offerings of our kitchen, and do it the Spanish way. We take you on a tapas & wine tour, and we offer the best combinations.

Organic Farming Workshop

Without preservatives or colourants!

You will learn the planting and irrigation techniques and how to pick fruits&vegetables cultivated in a our own orchard. Tasting is included.

Natural Soaps Workshops

You learn how to make soap the traditional way, with the smells you like best, using aromatic plants like lavender, rosemary, essence of jasmine, citrus fruit, aloe vera or any fruit you want. All the ingredients are in Agualivar. Take your natural soap as a souvenir!

Spanish Cooking Workshop

Fun workshop where you learn to cook typical Spanish dishes that you like best, such as “tortilla española”, “gazpacho”, “paella” with the ingredients just picked from the Agualivar orchard.

Urban Garden Workshop

Learn to cultivate your own vegetable garden at home, on your terrace or in your garden. Learn to make seedbeds and to transplant. In our rural school you practice with seedbeds in our own orchard, taking part in all the phases of the process and learn to make your own edible garden when you get back home.

Candles Workshop

Recycle candle leftovers and make new candles yourself using an infinity of containers and materials to achieve incredible colours, aromas and shapes. You will be surprised at your own creations!

And of course, take your candle home as a remembrance!

Recycling Workshop

From materials such as corks, plastic bottles or cans, you create very useful and ornamental objects to surprise everyone. Transform a plastic bottle into a bird house, footstool or convert packaging into a perfect designed vase.

In addition, the school has a library and video room where we realize meetings of Spanish cinema. Our infinity pool and chill-out area are spectacular and we are sure that you`ll love them! It’s an ideal place to soak up the sun, chat with classmates, have a drink and enjoy.

Make the most of your time and make excursions with us. Excursions to know spectacular cities and monuments as the Alhambra in Granada. Gastronomic routes to come more closely into tapas and wine world and the most traditional products from Andalusia. Visits to museums and so special places such as oil mills or wine cellars.

Open air sports

If you want start the day with a yoga class in the garden, you will be able to take it in Agualivar. The school is located in a privileged location only 300 metres from the beach. Therefore you can walk beside the sea and surrounding towns.

Moreover, Agualivar organize weekly open-air excursions and activities, so you can practice water sports such us diving, kayak, paddle surf in the sea, or canyoning in the rivers. And other sports and activities such as hiking, horseback riding or golf.

BED & BREAKFAST

If you prefer to stay in a wonderful lodge, you can choose Agualivar Spanish School, where you can stay in single or double rooms and where every day is peaceful. The lodging includes breakfast, but you can enjoy a wonderful lunch and dinner under reservation.

In a rural and family like environment, you wake up looking at the sea each day. You can enjoy the school’s surroundings daily. Visiting its crops, orchard, farm, besides enjoying the garden while sunbathing, or walk 5 minutes to the nearest beach.

Lodging includes a delicious breakfast prepared with ingredients from our orchard, our own elaborated olive oil, seasonal fruits or eggs from our chickens.

Our Bed&Breakfast is designed above all to make you feel at home and we do all we possibly can so that you enjoy each day. We don’t want you to be a mere host but vividly live the experience, take part in our daily activities if you want. We are a family and open the doors of our house to you.

SPANISH FAMILIES

If you prefer to learn Spanish while living with a Spanish family, this is your best option. You can choose between a single or double room. Half-board: breakfast and lunch. You will feel like one-of-us in our totaly reliable family houses. We are sure you will have a nice stay in Andalusia. All the houses are near the school, less than 30 minutes on foot.

SHARED FLATS

We places flats to share with other student of the school at your disposal. In Single or double rooms, sharing the common areas. Sheets and towels are included. As is cleaning after your stay.

Shared apartments are close to the school and can be reached on foot or even by bicycle if you prefer. We have a bicycle rental service available.

The shared flats are near the school, so you can walk or rent a bicycle.

PAYMENT:

A deposit of 180� should be paid on reserving a course. The course fee is payable in full no less than four weeks before the start date of the course. We reserve the right to cancel any course that has not been paid.

CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel your booking before the final balance is due (4 weeks before the course starts) you will lose only your deposit. After this time, the following fees are payable: between 28 and 15 days of the start of the course 80% of the total fees; within 14 days of the start of the course 100% of the total fees.
