The Rhinos Challenge is a professionally organised 9-a-side festival which brings U8 - U14 teams from all over the UK together for a fantastic weekend of rugby. 44 teams and over 1500 people joined us for the inaugural Rhinos Challenge in 2013 and the feedback couldn’t have been better!

Going on tour provides a rare and exciting opportunity for your players, coaches and

supporters to build team spirit and morale. The Rhinos Challenge is an experience that

everyone is sure to remember for years and years.

crammed with fantastic onsite facilities, superb entertainment and quality

to stage a family friendly youth rugby league festival.

ceremony is the highlight of the tour for many of our teams. Every team gets

their moment of glory on the big stage where they’ll receive a quality award

from our celebrity guests. Keith Senior, Ben Jones-Bishop, Stevie Ward and

Ronnie the Rhino all joined us at the 2013 Festival!

Great Evening Entertainment

The Apartments at Butlins are ideal for families, providing everyone with

enough space to relax in comfort. With separate lounge and kitchen areas, 2 or 3

bedrooms and a bathroom, the Apartments are fully equipped with everything you

could need on tour.

For those of you who don’t fancy feeding everyone, Butlins’ half board package

could be a great choice. Following a multi million pound investment in their kitchens

and restaurants, Butlins’ half board option is now an extremely popular choice for

teams on tour with ESF Events. Half board includes a full English breakfast and a

3 course evening meal. There’s a great range of food on offer and you can go

back for more as many times as you like! 1, 2 or 3 bedroom Standard and Silver

Rooms and 2 or 3 bedroom Apartments are available with the Half Board option.

Don’t forget, included with your accommodation booking are full

entertainment passes which give you free entry to the premier evening

entertainment venues, Splash Waterworld with flumes, rides and slides, and entry to

the onsite Fairground with free rides!

HOW TO BOOK 1. Make a Provisional Booking - Call ESF Events and we will reserve your team a place for 2 weeks free of charge.

2. Register Your Club - Complete and return the Club Registration Form with the Registration Deposit of £250 per age group. You will then be sent a receipt of entry along with accommodation booking information. The £250 deposit will be taken off your final Accommodation Balance.

3. Book Accommodation - An Accommodation Deposit of £30 per person is required to book accommodation. Butlins will then acknowledge your accommodation booking and notify you of the final balance due.

4. Pay Final Balance - The Final Balance of your booking will be due 8 weeks before the Festival.

TEAM ENTRY FEES There are no Team Entry Fees to enter the Rhinos Challenge. All costs involved with staging the Festival are included in the accommodation charges.

FESTIVAL FORMAT Friday - No rugby is played on the day of arrival.Accommodation units will be available from 4pm but teams can arrive on resort from Midday and use the facilities at Butlins. There will be a full evening entertainment programme on the Friday. Our welcome meeting for coaches and party leaders will take place on Friday evening.

Saturday & Sunday - The group stages of the Festival will take place on the Saturday with the final group standings determining whether teams go on to compete in the Rhinos Challenge Finals or Plate competition on the Sunday. The festival format may vary depending on the number of teams registered in each age group. The celebrity presentation ceremony will take place early on the Sunday evening.

Monday - Monday is the departure day. Check out of accommodation is 10.00am but you do not have to leave the resort until Midday giving you the chance to have a last trip to the Splash Waterworld or the Fairground.

FESTIVAL PITCHES The festival is played on grass pitches approximately 2 miles from Butlins. Teams must provide their own transport to and from the pitches.

WRISTBANDS You will be allocated one wristband for each member of your party booked through ESF Events. Please be aware that people without a wristband will not be able to participate in the Festival, attend the presentation ceremony or enter evening entertainment venues at the holiday centre.

ACCOMMODATION IMPORTANT: Accommodation for your whole party, including players, families, coaches and supporters, must be booked through ESF Events. If members of your party do not book their accommodation through ESF Events, the team may not be permitted to participate in the Rhinos Challenge. The only exception to this is ‘local’ teams who are invited to participate in the Festival to ensure the best possible format in each age group. Accommodation will be allocated strictly on a first-come first-served basis. If you select a particular size or grade of accommodation which is no longer available, you will be offered the nearest alternative. Accommodation will always be available once your registration has been accepted but we cannot guarantee your first choice of accommodation. The ‘child’ rate is for ages 2-14 years at Butlins. Infants under the age of 2 years are free of charge if you bring your own cot or you can hire a cot at a charge of £10. MINIMUM OCCUPANCY OF UNITS Half board Room prices are based on a minimum of 2 paying guests sharing a unit. Half board Apartment prices are based on a minimum of 4 paying guests sharing a unit. Self catering Apartment prices are based on a minimum of 4 paying guests sharing a unit.

MINIMUM OCCUPANCY SUBSIDIES In cases where minimum occupancy is not reached as detailed above, a full subsidy will be charged. The minimum occupancy does not include infants under the age of 2 years.

SUPERVISION: ADULT TO CHILD RATIOS At least one responsible adult over the age of 21 must occupy each unit of accommodation. A minimum adult to child ratio of 1 to 2 is required for your party by Butlins.

INSURANCE The Rhinos Challenge 2014 is covered for ‘Public Liability’ insurance by ESF Events. However, this does not cover individual teams or ‘person to person’ public liability, personal accident or injury whilst attending the Festival. We strongly recommend that all participating teams, if they are not already covered, should take out insurance cover for these risks. We also strongly recommend all members of your party take out appropriate holiday insurance.

CANCELLATION If you cancel your booking due to illness, accident or change of circumstances, and if you have taken insurance cover, payments for accommodation arising from the cancellation may be covered. Registration Deposits will not be refunded for cancellations. As soon as you know that you need to cancel you must call ESF Events on 01664 566360. Cancellation charges are calculated from the day ESF Events receive written instructions to cancel a booking.

EVENT ORGANISERS The Rhinos Challenge is organised and staged by ESF Events Ltd (Company Registration Number 7695303)

BEHAVIOUR & CONDUCT WHILE ON TOUR It is the responsibility of the Group Leader and adults in the party to ensure the behaviour of all members of your party is acceptable at all times at the Festival. Clubs will be charged for any damages caused by members of their party. In extreme cases of unacceptable behaviour, the Resort Management & ESF Events reserve the right to terminate a holiday whereby part or all of a team/club may be required to leave the premises without refund.

FORCE MAJEUR We do not accept liability for any loss, damage or expense arising from a change or cancellation to your tour which occurs due to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control and that of our suppliers. Such events would include, for example, war, threat of war, riots, civil strife, pandemics, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, fire or adverse weather conditions, natural or nuclear disaster, decisions of the RFL or similar events beyond our control.

BROCHURE ACCURACY To the best of our knowledge, all information in this brochure is accurate at the time of print. Please be aware that there may be occasions when the facilities listed in this brochure are modified or unavailable due to factors beyond our control.

DATA PROTECTION ESF Events will use the personal information that you provide to process your booking and provide your tour. We may also need to pass your information to third party service providers such as Butlins. It is your responsibility to inform members of your party what information about them you are providing, and what we will use it for.

FINANCIAL PROTECTION As a member of the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT), an Association approved by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, ESF Events has provided a Bond to meet the requirements of the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 (PTR). This Bond provides security for and is restricted to monies paid by its UK customers in the event of ESF Events’ insolvency. Although not required under the PTR, the bond will also protect prepayments for accommodation only bookings made by UK customers. N.B. Accommodation bookings for ESF Events Festivals at Butlins are not covered by this bond as payment is made directly to Butlins for the accommodation.
