At this point you’ve probably already made the wise decision to get registered. Now you are likely just trying to avoid doing something silly like showing up at the wrong place or forgetting to wear green – or both! We’re just like you, so that’s why we made this guide. Advanced Packet Pick-Up

Race Day Packet Pick-Up

Packet Pick-Up will be available on race day inside the Strategic Air & Space Museum. However, we STRONGLY encourage you to pick it up in advance. After all, why stand in line when you could be showing off your Irish Ceili dance moves? Race day packet pick-up begins at 2:00pm. Please arrive at least 1 hour early if you MUST pick-up your packet on race day.

The Course The Leprechaun Chase 10K Nebraska starts and ends from the Strategic Air & Space Museum near Ashland. The scenic course will traverse the roads and trails of Mahoney State Park. We spiced things up with a couple short cross country sections! The certified 10k course will be chip timed. Miles will be marked and there will be 3 water stations. Arrival Arrive early on race day March 8th, 2014. Leave plenty of time to park the car, stretch, laugh and make that final trip to the little lads or lasses room! Add another hour if you did not pick up your race packet in advance. The lasses start promptly at 4pm and the lads 5 ½ minutes later.

Parking [important!] Your parking area will be emailed to you the week of the race. Watch for this email! The first 750 registered runners will receive priority parking at the Strategic Air & Space Museum (SASM). Runners 751 to 2,500 will park inside Mahoney State Park. Please consider carpooling no matter what parking area you are in. Parking will be very limited. Click HERE for an Interactive LC10k Parking Map.

Late Arrivals: If you arrive after 3:45 PM, you may not be allowed to park in the either parking area because the race course begins in these areas. Early Departures: If you need to leave immediately after the race, you will need to park in the east lot of SASM or in the Mahoney State Park lot. The west SASM lot will not have access until after 5:30pm.

Spectators

Spectators are encouraged to attend. However, please refer to this Spectator Guide Map for the best results. Friends and family may enter the museum prior to 4:30pm at discount rates ($10 adults, $4 children).

Gear Check Sure, we can hold your gear while you race, but it will be safer and less of a hassle for you to leave as much as you can in your vehicle. Any personal items need to be clearly labeled with your bib # and last name. Turn items in to the Gear Check tent and leave allow extra time before the start of the race if you plan to use this service. You won’t want to miss the start. Gear will be available again after you cross the finish line wearing your silly grin.

Lining Up The start and finish line are located inside the Durham Restoration Hanger of the Strategic Air & Space Museum. Just enter through the main entrance and you can’t miss it. (There will be thousands of other folks wearing green and silly hats that are also looking for the start line). We will begin lining up at about 3:45pm. Lasses to the right, Lads to the left (keep your hands to yourselves). Rabbits to the front, turtles to the back. Yep, we’ll have pace signs to help you find the right spot. We’ll play the national anthem, open the hanger doors and kick this puppy off at 4:00pm sharp. Lads will twiddle their thumbs for another 5 ½ minutes before being released from the gates. will need to park in the east lot of SASM or in the Mahoney State Park lot. The west SASM lot will not have access until after 5:15pm.

Nebraska 10K State Championship & Grand Prix In addition to the prize purse and age group awards, runners will be competing in the State Championship 10K race. The 2014 Leprechaun Chase 10K presented by Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital has been awarded the 10kKChampionship for both USATF Nebraska & RRCA Nebraska. The race will be the first race on the USATF Nebraska Grand Prix Schedule. If you are interested in competing in the Grand Prix, you must notify Michael Rathje at [email protected] to declare you are running in the LC10K.

Green Beer After Party

A few steps away from the finish line will be the Green Beer After Party where the good times will continue with food, drinks and awards ceremony. Here the winning wave will relish in their free drink and the losing side will have to dream of next year. **You must bring your ID and be of age to consume adult beverages**

Weather We want the Leprechaun Chase 10K to happen just as much as you! We’ll do everything in our power to have things go off as scheduled. That being said, excessive rain, snow or other hazardous weather might cause us to modify or cancel the event. If the race is cancelled, runners will be refunded 25% of their entry fee. Cancellation is not likely, so plan on wearing green and running the most fun 10K of your life!

FREE Injury Evaluations Arrive early and get a head start on the festivities. Our good friends at Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital will have their Optimum Stride Crew performing FREE screenings from 2:00pm to 3:30pm before the race. They are the best in the business. Stop by and see why!
