2) What were the key learnings or impacts of the meeting?

What were the key learnings or impacts of the meeting?

I think the key learnings were in regards to the future direction of CREST and its members.

New project ideas. Evaluating our current activities--what's working, what's not working. Reviewing strategic plan and workplan.

That our group IS making some difference in the lives of people living with BD (clinicians, families) and part of our success is due to our community engaged methodology; we're not perfect but are moving in a good direction.

Discussion of the activities/research projects in the context of the strategic plan was quite useful.

Key learnings included finding out what other people were doing. This was positive because it helped weave a web to the larger picture.

Clarification of the group's preference for a relatively informal organisational structure. Strengthened linkages with UK group.

the latest development of bipolar research within the group and beyond

New research opportunities discussed and updates on EWOK

Great opportunity to hear about the variety of projects led by CREST.BD members. I'm also understanding better how BD is a highly treatable condition.

1) the most updated research on topics related to BD, 2) potential topics for future cutting edge study

3) What did you like best about the meeting?

What did you like best about the meeting?

Meeting everyone and having the opportunity to hear what everyone is doing, what they plan to do, and what ideas they have to the future.

Comradery; networking; giving feedback on network processes and planned projects. Getting a sense of what everyone is doing and the scope of CREST projects.

The opportunity for us encumbered dialogue about important issues e.g., leadership. Also appreciated the pre-meeting work on the strategic plan which made our FTF time much more efficient. I enjoyed the expression of mutual respect among participants. I like the balance of working hard and then socializing; the latter is an important part of being a team.

The opportunity to network and discuss ongoing work as well as ideas.

I enjoyed how the sessions were short and kept your attention. I enjoyed learning about the work that CREST BD was involved with. Greg and Erin were excellent facilitators.

Collegiality, opportunity to hear about ongoing projects and get a sense of the future of CREST.BD.

people I met, the atmosphere, the venue, the willingness and generosity to share and inspire each other

Opportunity to brainstorm and network with international colleagues. Dinner outings that were constructive for networking too.

Very well organized. A fantastic opportunity to connect and discuss BD matters with cool colleagues. Great use of fun times to keep everybody going and be productive :)

1) the contents and research update, 2) the opportunity for networking and 3) the venue was excellent

4) If you could change/improve one thing about the meeting what would it be?

If you could change/improve one thing about the meeting what would it be?

Nothing! It was fantastic :)

The workplan feedback session could have been more informative. It would have been nice to review each section in a systematic way, even if some items had been completed/are in progress. To go through it would have provided an opportunity to see how the workplan was populated and have more opportunity to give feedback. Having Jen lead the reflections portion of the workplan (as written in the agenda) may have added additional value.

More structured tasks paired with someone who I didn't know well.(the icebreaker exercise helped in some ways). Would like to hear more from the trainees (good to have Emma's presentation.

It was difficult to get a sense of the broader research activities of other members who did not attend the meeting.

Need more knowledge on how CREST BD came to be, the history, etc.

We should have ended the final session in a tidier fashion - as Erin noted, it would have been useful to conclude with a discussion of next meeting date.

MORE time to bounce ideas for new project, new research edge

The ending was a bit abrupt. I would have enjoyed a chance to review the working plan and talk about next steps.

Have CREST.BD network meeting happening right before (or after) a BD/mental illnesses conference. (It was great to have a CME course before the network meeting)

More opportunities for brain-storming ideas of research topics/ issues

5) Do you have any additional feedback?

Do you have any additional feedback?

Thank you!

Members who are being funded by CREST to attend the meeting should make a commitment to attending the full two days of the meeting. We could evaluate how the time can be maximized when we are all there in person. What activities are best served when everyone is there altogether vs. what things can be done by email or conference calls.

Loved the Thursday morning ice breaker even though our team didn't win! Ditto for keeping it fresh with the PK style of presentations.

Great meeting overall, as well as location and venue.

It was left in the lurch how CREST was going to assess Erin's position, is this going to be followed up upon?

Thanks to the organising committee for an extremely productive meeting!

just words of thanks to the organising committee

Excellent event both professionally and socially.

I am very grateful that I had a chance to meet CREST.BD colleagues working on BD and get their input on specific BD-related questions and observations.

May I extend my heartfelt thanks to the CREST.BD colleagues and my colleagues for their generous sharing
