WG2: Key Findings

!  CAMPUSES AND CLIMATE PREPAREDNESS (CP) - PROPOSALS

!  Some universities established expert groups on adaptation and have experience in risk management

!  We have to learn from past events (also from campuses that experienced environmental disasters

!  Environmental refugees is going to become a hot topic

!  Working on the communication and reach-out of preparedness/adaptation/mitigation (are ley people informed?)

!  Moving attention from climate prediction and modeling alone, to action (the scale of the campus might be a good start!)

WG2: Key Findings

!  HUMAN HEALTH AND EXPOSURE TO CHEMICALS and SUSTAINABLE FOOD - ISSUES

!  In common: chemicals and ingredients are inputs for our body

!  Conflicting certification of chemicals

!  Huge amount of chemicals that are present in our daily life, especially in indoors (and only few ones are tested and certified – about 7%)

!  Red list of chemicals proposed by the Living Building Challenge 3.0 as a reference for universities

!  Relationship space and exposure of chemicals (Harvard study on dorms)

WG2: Key Findings

!  HUMAN HEALTH AND EXPOSURE TO CHEMICALS - PROPOSALS

!  Green products purchase

!  Inventory of chemicals in the labs

!  Personal care WS

!  SUSTAINABLE FOOD

!  Healthy framework

!  Food for life program > freshly prepared, preparation of food certified and mapped

!  Sustainable diet on campus to minimize meet consumption (meet less days, vegetarian restaurants)
