I Love Rehearsal (Dave Helmuth) What if you could say that? If you’re the leader, are you doing what you can to feel that and create spaces for your teams to feel that? I you serve on the team, is that your current experience? You’ll learn how to make sure the whole team arrives better prepared, how to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the time you spend rehearsing, and how to think well about the gem that the weekly rehearsal can be! And if you’re a tech, of course there’s a huge part for you in this too. With experiences of leading different teams at different churches each week, Dave Helmuth is able to teach broadly and very specifically to help you experience rehearsals that’ll leave you exclaiming “I love rehearsal!” Creating a Culture of Worship (Dave Helmuth) The worship team at your church (including the leaders, musicians, and techs) are responsible to be the primary shapers of the worship culture of your congregation. Yep, it goes way beyond picking songs, doesn’t it? There’s a lot on the line. You’ll learn to focus on avoiding three of the major pitfalls every congregation faces, as well as grow in the freedom to experience the yoke that is easy and the burden that is light. You’ll also receive a tool that will help your team be single-minded in its mission. We like to call it “Broccoli.” Keys to Effective Keyboard Playing (Dan Sigmon) Are you “classically trained” but now playing in a Praise Band? We’ll discuss topics including how to read chord charts, transposing, song transitions, chord voicing, ideas to play during prayer time, leading vs. supporting, ‘coloring’ basic chords, improvising, working with rhythm players & playing as a team member. We’ll share practical answers to your questions! “Sunday’s Comin’ and I Don’t Know What to Do!” (10 Steps to Planning Great Services) Dan Sigmon Do you ever find yourself looking at a blank planning page and don’t know what to do?! We’ll discuss very practical ideas how to be creative, stay fresh, avoid stress and plan meaningful Worship services. Your questions answered! Brainstorming: The Creativity Starts Here (Dave Kern) Learn new brainstorming and ideation methods that can produce hundreds jumping-off points – ideas that can also be later evaluated and implemented into your worship gathering. Also learn how to cross industry lines to look for ideas in media and print. Low-Tech Environment Design (Dave Kern) How do you get the ball rolling in creating and designing worship spaces? From low budget to no budget, a great experience starts with a great idea. We'll go over some brainstorming and design basics, how to effectively come out of a meeting with many ideas to launch from, and we'll discuss ways to take a low-tech approach and get huge impact though subtle changes. We'll take a look at rather common supplies and ways to re-purpose those old props collecting dust in the closet. This will also be an opportunity to ask questions and get ideas on how to enhance your specific church space. Everyone is creative, they just don't know it yet. Learn to apply the design basics to your specific space and purpose. You’ll get construction ideas for sets, scaling, building with purpose/re-purpose in mind. Integrate different design philosophies: abstract vs. story telling, etc. and practical implementation of a design. Tech Panel (Brian Rohrer, Chris Mellon, Dave Kern) From front of house to monitors to decibel levels to the relational dynamic between the pastor, worship leader and tech crew, the tech directors from several local churches will discuss the basics of church tech, trends and pitfalls as well as cover some best practices. 4 Keys To Making Your Band Sound Great (Dan Wilt) Any band can sound exponentially better by applying 4 key ideas. One by one, these 4 keys can take your band, or small ensemble, from struggling every Sunday morning to succeeding as a team making beautiful music. 10 Ways To Stir The Waters Of Your Creativity (Dan Wilt) Losing steam for writing new music, penning fresh lyrics, and pushing your instrumental abilities? In this session with Dan, we'll talk about practical ways you can work with God to stir the waters of creativity within you – and keep them running strong for a lifetime. 2014 Inspire Worship Breakout Sessions

Bios Dan Wilt, M.Min. is a husband, father, son, communicator, author, educator, artist, worship leader, and radio storyteller based in Franklin, TN. His radio storytelling reaches almost 2 million listeners across the world, and he has a particular lean toward the poor.

Dan Sigmon began sitting on a piano bench at age 7 and has planned and led worship services for 30 years in 5 churches in the Mid-West. He is the Worship Arts Pastor at Manor Church, Lancaster, PA, where he plans worship services, directs the Praise Band and choir. He is married to his multi-

talented wife, Cindy; they have one married son, Jonathan, who is a worship leader/youth pastor in Rochester, NY. Dan enjoys arranging and updating hymns, jazz, mentoring less experienced worship leaders, movie nights and eating just about anything (except liver).

Dave Helmuth is the visionary leader of Ad Lib Music and since 2008 has been working to eradicate isolation and burnout so that leaders bear much fruit. His passion is to develop leaders, coaching them to become masters at creating spaces in which people can

meet with God. He helps leaders, teams, and congregations grow in their worshiping lives. He was born in Costa Rica [se habla español] where he spent his first 12 years as a Missionary Kid. During his 14 years in San Antonio, Texas his family planted churches and he later earned a degree in Music Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. In 1997, he moved to Lancaster, PA, where he lives with his wife Heather and children Aspen, Clementine, Louis, and Juliana. They homeschool, love to host people, and have their hearts set on moving to Costa Rica…some day…but not in the too distant future!

Dave Kern loves creating. He’s been involved in creating and designing worship gatherings and environments for over 10 years. All things from leading and selecting music to building sets. How any why the church collides with culture is a passion of his. There

are so many things to learn from both, so why not find ways to work together. Dave’s experience gives a good grip on what is going on in the world around us and how it is affecting the corporate church. It also provides insight as to where many churches get stuck on relevance.
