DA Benefits
“DA question papers are very good and conducting of the tests is also very smooth and fast. Teachers come to know well in time the areas children are lagging in and subsequent remedial classes are conducted. This has helped us improve our results 100 percent. We have even taken parent feedback who have given us full support.”
Ms G Arundhati Sangamitra School, Hyderabad
“My teachers and I are extremely happy with the questions asked in DA tests. The technological advancement was a big step for all the teachers but they have learnt very fast. I share information regarding DA with the school visitors.”
Mrs A Rajini,PS Chidambara Nadar Senior English School, Virudhunagar
“The instant feedback eases the load on the teachers who are in constant pressure of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) introduced by CBSE. Before introducing this tool, we even discussed with the parents who are extremely supportive about this tool.”

“We are happy with the way our queries are handled by the DA Support Team. We were provided extensive training in the system, which has made us extremely confident. The Maths and Science teachers are very happy with the quality of questions. I have noticed that the students come excited and prepared for tests now.”
Mrs Gopa GhoshRachana School, Ahmedabad
“The assessment through mobile in DA is going fine. The teachers and students both are very happy with this diagnostic assessment tool. They have become comfortable with the tool and we are getting the reports instantly.”
Ms Sara George,St George School, New Delhi
DA Reports provide a detailed inference on the performance of students on key concept areas, including ways to improve the same
Principal ReportThe Principal of each school receives test-wise reports of all class sections, providing a consolidated snapshot for strategizing future improvement.
This report also highlights key misconceptions that are identified through DA that are common to the entire batch of students across all sections.
Teacher ReportDA reports serve as a powerful tool for teachers to deliver high impact learning, over and above just a passive reflection on past assessments
Teachers receive reports that include individual student scores as well as guidance to enhance the quality of instruction of key concept areas.
Student ReportStudents receive customized reports summarizing their assessment performance - both absolute as well as relative to other students of the class.
Student reports also include recommendations to help enhance their conceptual understanding and thereby their performance in future assessments.

DA on Computers
In this mode, students shall undertake the test on computers available in the school’s computer lab, under teacher invigilation. Based on the internet infrastructure available, the school may opt for one of the following:
All computers connected to the internet – all tests conducted online
All computers networked through a LAN (each without internet connectivity) with only a server machine con-nected to the internet – all tests conducted offline
In the second option above, EI shall provide software (free of cost) to be installed on the LAN. This software shall enable the school to conduct tests in their computer lab even without internet availability for all computers. The server (which is online, connected to the internet) shall automatically consolidate all student responses at the end of the test session and send these over to EI’s servers for scoring.
*For English, DA focuses on the functional aspects of the language - the literature component from textbooks (that mainly emphasize recall) is not covered.
Subjects: Math, Science and English* - upto 8 tests per subject in an academic year
Classes: 3 to 10
DA on Mobile Phones
The standard DA conduction mode (on computers) requires both the presence and availability of computer labs within the school for test conduction along the academic year. In order to alleviate this dependence on computer infrastructure, DA is also available for conduction through mobile phones. The mobile conduction mode of DA broadly works as follows:
Based on the DA order size provided by the school (and thereby the frequency of tests), EI shall provide the school with dedicated kits of mobiles phones, available to the school throughout the year to conduct DA tests at any point of time. These kits are fully self-sufficient to carry out the test conduction process without the need for computers.
Prior to the start of the academic year / DA tests, EI shall provide in-depth, hands-on training to all teachers and students on the use of the DA mobile test conduction system - to ensure a smooth test conduction process each time. EI personnel can also be made available at the time of tests, for a separate price, if the school desires so.
Students shall use a mobile phone each to key in their responses to DA questions (questions are on printed papers).
*For English, DA focuses on the functional aspects of the language - the literature component from textbooks (that mainly emphasize recall) is not covered.
Subjects: Math, Science and English* - upto 8 tests per subject in an academic year
Classes: 3 to 10
DA TEST PROCESS Test Request - Paper Development - Test Conduction
How DA Works - 10 Easy Steps
1
School signs up for DA
2
EI collects the textbooks followed by the school and proceeds to map the topic-wise conceptual contents, create questions as preparation for the expected test requests
3
Teacher teaches a topic
4
Teacher logs into DA system
5
Teacher sees the chapters from the text book listed on the screen
6
Teacher selects the chapter(s) for the test
7
Tests are delivered to the school
8
Students take the test in the lab or through mobile phones under teacher invigilation
9
Test results delivered with-in 48 hours

DA TEST PROCESS Test Request - Paper Development - Test Conduction
ADDITIONAL SUPPORTOrientation - Mid Year Review (MYR) - End Year Review (EYR)
The customized reports not only provide in-depth quantitative insights into the test performance, but also pinpoints up to three common misconceptions in the test and how the class and each student has fared on those. It also gives a set of remedial instructions and suggested activities to remediate such misconceptions. Academic Support Managers help the school and its teachers to interpret these reports and help them build a roadmap to address misconceptions identified in each test. The Support team also provides ongoing support (with visits & support on calls and emails) to address their queries.
The Support team conducts reviews to gauge the progress of the programme from the implementation and impact point of view. They conducted a Mid Year and an End Year review, showcasing a consolidated report on DA performance (grade and subject level) which also includes academic insights towards better learning. Review reports also include details of usage, implementation and impact measures with specific recommendations towards improvement. These Managers also share best practices adopted by other DA schools across the country. These review reports also serve as a summary for Principals/Management to gauge the effectiveness of the DA programme in their school.

Textbook Mapping
Detailed Assessment supports the assessment of students across various forms of curriculum, boards and textbooks. These textbooks are mapped to the school-class-subject combination through a rigorous one-time mapping process, as part of DA initialization and school set-up, prior to the start of the academic year. The primary aim of the textbook mapping process is to ensure that, in the endeavour to assess higher order thinking, tests (and their question items) continue to remain fair and appropriate to students with respect to their exposure to concepts. This mapping process is hence the most critical component of the school-setup phase.
Textbook Mapping
Mapping Process
Every new textbook encountered within the DA program is tightly examined and processed, through following key steps:
Step 1: Add basic textbook identification details to the DA system
Step 2: Develop the chapter listing as the master content index
Step 3: Assess chapter-by-chapter textbook content in detail, ensure maximum textbook coverage
Step 4: Develop difference report to reveal uncovered sections (sub-topics not covered by the existing question bank and for which additional items are to be developed)
Step 5: Map all covered content to the internal system, chapter-wise
Step 6: Develop new question bank items for uncovered content through EI’s standard high quality item development model
TEXTBOOK MAPPING
DA is designed to transform regular assessments into an integrated, powerful learning tool for the classroom.
