2014 CFC Theme: Behold and Ponder

Beloved brothers and sisters in Couples for Christ: In 2012, the 31 st year of Couples for Christ (CFC), we started our journey with the Blessed Mother in growing in holiness, in evangelization and in our work with the poor. With gratitude and thanksgiving, we lifted our hearts to God, as we sang in freedom and joy, the Magnificat (Lk.1:46-55). To this day, the call to every CFC around the world resonates: “Proclaim the greatness of the Lord!” In 2013, on our 32 nd year, we have been invited to the Wedding Feast in Cana (John 2:1-11). It was there where the Blessed Mother said to us: “Do whatever he tells you.” In heeding her counsel, we have seen how emptiness may be transformed to fullness, and how water may be transformed into wine. Formed to obedience, we were allowed to witness God’s glory. “Obey and Witness!” For 2014, on our 33 rd year, the Lord wants us to continue to turn to the Blessed Mother. She will lead us to Jesus. She will teach us to behold Jesus and ponder His actions in our lives. As God embraces us as His beloved, we shall behold and ponder. This coming year, Jesus is entrusting us to His mother. Inspired by John 19:26-27, When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, Woman, behold, your son. Then he said to the disciple, Behold, your mother. And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.33 years for Couples for Christ… Where is CFC? Beloved brothers and sisters in Couples for Christ:

In 2012, the 31st year of Couples for Christ (CFC), we started our journey with the Blessed

Mother in growing in holiness, in evangelization and in our work with the poor. With gratitude

and thanksgiving, we lifted our hearts to God, as we sang in freedom and joy, the Magnificat

(Lk.1:46-55). To this day, the call to every CFC around the world resonates: “Proclaim the

greatness of the Lord!”

In 2013, on our 32nd

year, we have been invited to the Wedding Feast in Cana (John 2:1-11). It

was there where the Blessed Mother said to us: “Do whatever he tells you.” In heeding her

counsel, we have seen how emptiness may be transformed to fullness, and how water may be

transformed into wine. Formed to obedience, we were allowed to witness God’s glory. “Obey and

Witness!”

For 2014, on our 33rd

year, the Lord wants us to continue to turn to the Blessed Mother. She will

lead us to Jesus. She will teach us to behold Jesus and ponder His actions in our lives. As God

embraces us as His beloved, we shall behold and ponder.

This coming year, Jesus is entrusting us to His mother. Inspired by John 19:26-27, “When Jesus

saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, „Woman, behold,

your son.‟ Then he said to the disciple, „Behold, your mother.‟ And from that hour the disciple

took her into his home.”

33 years for Couples for Christ… Where is CFC? We are called to reflect in silence. We need to

ponder on all the things that have transpired for the past 33 years in our beloved community.

Luke 2:19 says, “And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.” On our 3rd

year journey with Mary, she is leading us to contemplate where the heart of CFC is at this point.

And so with much awe to our Lord and gratitude to our Mother, we embrace our theme for 2014

“BEHOLD and PONDER”.

May God’s grace, peace and mercy be upon us all as we anticipate in faith the outpouring of

God’s blessing upon CFC.
