2014-2015 Staunton Downtown Development Association Annual Report In December 2014, Staunton was awarded a $100,000 Community Business Launch Grant by the Department of Housing and Community Development. The partnering organizations, Staunton Downtown Development Asso- ciation (SDDA), Staunton Creative Community Fund (SCCF), and the Economic Development Department (EDA), began to aggressively launch the program February 2015. The on-line application process attracted 28 entrepreneurs and 16 were accepted into the program. Each was required to attend an 8-Week Business Planning course implemented by the SCCF, present their idea at a public Pitch Night, and submit a business plan by May 27.
