SERMON NOTES

Meditation

Pastor Gary Russell Acts 8:26-40

Visitors - We are so glad you’ve come this morning to

seek the Lord Jesus Christ and worship Him together with us. Please take a moment to complete the Connection Card in the worship folder. After doing so, tear it off and bring it to the Information Center in the lobby to receive a complimentary gift bag and information about the ministries of our church.

Church Life

All-Church Picnic Following this morning’s service

Join us this morning for an all-church cookout following the service. This will be an excellent opportunity to connect with church families and make new friends. The cost of the meal will be covered by free will donations.

Grieving We extend our sympathy to Linda Hintz whose ex-husband died unexpectedly of a stroke this past Monday. A memorial service will be held in West Virginia.

Awana Leadership Transition As announced last Sunday, Steve and Debbie Kinzer have accepted the position of Co-Commanders of our Awana ministry. Awana ministers to approximately 170 children on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Let’s give the Kinzers our full support as they finalize plans for the fall.

Building Completion Project Last Sunday’s gifts of $286 helped us to surpass the 75% mark of our $8,000 goal for the purchase of remote controlled roller shades for the worship center windows. The cumulative gift total is now $6,190. Gifts toward this project may be marked “Building Completion” on your weekly offering envelope.

Fiscal Year End July 31

st marks the end of our current

fiscal year. Gifts of approximately $35,000 received through this coming Thursday will enable us to satisfy all of our obligations.

Sermon CDs may be ordered at the Information Center.

Thank You Our perennial gardens look great thanks to the services of the Williamson, Bateman and Horn families during the month of July. Volunteers are needed for the month of August. Please sign up at the Information Center today.

Summer Selfie Contest Summer travel plans or just hanging around town, capture your family outings and enter our “Selfie” contest! Take your family’s picture and upload it to our church Facebook page or e-mail it to [email protected] and use the hashtag #ACVfamily. At the end of the summer, a winning family will be chosen to receive a family photo session from Living Stones Photography!

Backpack Give-Away Open Arms will hold its annual Backpack Give-Away at the next community dinner on August 26. Backpacks with a $5 will be given to those in the community who need them on a first-come first-served basis. Would you please join us in blessing our community with your donation of these items?
