AUCTION BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS1. Bidding will begin at 6PM and will end promptly at 7:25PM.

2. Each item on display has an accompanying bid sheet. Please print your name and bidder number clearly next to your bid in the space provided.

Predetermined bidding increments are printed on each bid sheet. The items follow the same order as in the catalogue. Full descriptions of all items may be found in the catalogue listings.

If there is no expiration date listed, the certificate or package expires one year from today.

3. Winners of Silent Auction items will be contacted during dinner.

4. There are several auction items on display that will ONLY be available during the Live Auction, which will take place at dinner.

5. All items must be paid for by the end of the evening.

6. Payment for items may be made with cash, check, American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. Purchases are final and no exchanges or refunds will be made.

8. The Huntington Theatre Company does not appraise or estimate the value of auction items. Donors have provided estimates.

10. Please consult your tax advisor for rules concerning the deductibility of auction items. Generally, the excess of the bid amount over the estimated value is deductible, and no deduction is allowed if the bid is below the estimated value.

Begin by comparing the 2006 and 2007 Clos des Papes from Paul Avril, which wine critic Robert Parker rated 98 and 99+ points respectively, calling the 2006 “utterly profound” and the 2007 “unquestionably one of the great Chateauneufs of my lifetime.” Then move on to compare the 2000 vs. 2001 Domaine de Pegau Reservee. Parker calls the former “a tour de force...impeccably well-balanced,” and praises the latter as “a spectacular smorgasbord of aromas...with a huge finish, and a monster upside.” Finally, conclude your tasting by comparing a pair of 2007s from famous Spanish wine producer Alvaro Palacios, who bio-dynamically farms all of his vineyards. Parker says of the first, from the Las Lamas vineyard, “satin-textured, multifaceted, and intense, it is full of finesse, elegance, and impeccable balance.” He describes the second from “sister” vineyard La Faraona, as “velvety-textured, suave, and intensely flavored, it admirably combines elegance and power.”
