DLPA and HAP Kick-OffOn Thursday, May 9th, Gift of Life Donor Program, CORE and Donate Life PA celebrated the launch of the new DLPA Website and campaign in Harrisburg, PA. Titled 30 Seconds, the new public-awareness campaign is the work of Donate Life Pennsylvania, a partnership of the states two organ procurement organizations and the state Departments of Health and Transportation. This new campaign features a revamped website DonateLifePA.org with videos of 6 Pennsylvanians who have been impacted by organ and tissue donation, including Laverne Clark, Lou Torres and Tony Forte from our region. Several media outlets covered the press conference.
The press conference featured a variety of speakers, most of whom limited their comments to just :30 seconds, the time it takes for someone to register online. Pictured in the lower section of the slide are hospital representatives from throughout the state who traveled to Harrisburg to join Andy Carter, Executive Director of HAP (Hospital and HealthSystem Association of PA) who announced the DL PA Hospital Challenge. A briefing and kickoff was held at HAP headquarters after the press conference, with 40 hospitals and health care systems through the state participating. Thy have registered to be part of a 4 month campaign to increase donor designations and programming within their hospitals and their community. HS and CR are working closely together to provide support to these teams throughout our region.
