to the 13th annual Peterborough Artists’ Open Studios. Thank you for your interest in Peterborough Artists Open Studios (and, if you’ve visited us before, welcome back!) We are grateful for your support.

2013 sets a new record for us, with over 70 artists exhibiting in 27 different locations all over the city and in the surrounding villages. Come along and celebrate our 13th anniversary with us, you never know what you might find – a beautiful piece of textile art, an eye-catching vase, intricate silver jewellery – there is so much to see.

As usual, we will have an absolutely huge range of different work on display: painting, sculpture, jewellery, ceramics, mosaics, photography, textiles, garden design, drawing, collage, print making, assemblage, papier-mâché and fabric embellishment.

This Directory will help you to plan your visit, and you can use it as a handy guide to local artists throughout the year. Our website also includes all the information you will need, including a map and further information about each artist. www.paos.org.uk

What to expectYou can expect a warm welcome at all our venues, many of which are in the artists’ own homes or gardens. Refreshments are offered in some, and you are welcome to browse the displays, which will vary in style, but usually include both finished work for sale and “work in progress”. There is absolutely no obligation to buy and admission is free. There will, of course, be the chance to talk to the artists, who are happy to discuss their methods and inspirations.

We ask that you respect the exhibitors’ property and space when you visit, bearing in mind that many are opening their private homes. Please also note that cash and cheques are usually acceptable, but few artists are able to process payments by card.

Preview in QueensgateFollowing on from last year’s successful preview event, local artists will also be showcasing their work in the Queensgate Centre on Saturday May 18th. Come along to see what’s on offer, meet the artists, and get a flavour of the main Open Studios event in June.

AccessAs most of the open studios are domestic properties, we are unable to offer specialist access for visitors with disabilities. However, exhibitors will endeavor to provide assistance where required, and are happy to be telephoned in advance to discuss your needs.

Liability and CopyrightThe Peterborough Artists Open Studios Group cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury sustained by any member of the public visiting the studios. The public does so at entirely its own risk. The copyright for all artists’ images on our website and in this directory, and for all works on display, is owned by the individual artists.
