March 2013
We are very excited about the start of spring and our upcoming Spring Sp
5K/10K on March 10th at Lisle Community Park. This is the day we set th
clocks ahead as well so we know warmer weather is not too far off. The
ground hogs are predicting an early spring. I hope they are correct.
This follows a fantastic February when we had our very popular Dinner D
on February 8th. You will see more information elsewhere and photos of th
event but let me just congratulate committee chairPaula Gleason ofBen
sidoun USA and Neighbors Magazine on another great program. Because of Paulas organ
tional strengths and leadership this program has been growing in popularity every year. Th
committee works very diligently as well and is congratulated for all they do. We are also in
ed to Jill Eidukas Office and Events Manager for all she does to coordinate the activities pri
to, during, and after the dinner. Thanks also to Amy Vidovic, Office Assistant, who volunte
to be a dancer and did so much to prepare for the event.
Congratulations to Elizabeth Boone on winning dance contest along with James Dutton of
Arthur Murray. Check our website for photos of some of the highlights of the night, and on
Facebook page.
We also held the first annual Lislepalooza at Benedictine University later in the month. Th
program held on the BU campus featured a career fair, seminars on job preparation techniqu
luncheon, and business after hours. A good time was had by all as over 400 visitors attende
Thank you to Dr. Sandra Gill, Dean of the College of Business for including the Lisle Cha
ber. Eric Goodman did a great job managing the career fair as well. We look forward to th
program growing and including more exciting segments.
The multi-chamber economic outlook luncheon was held the last week of the month in Burr
Ridge. This annual event coordinated by Larry Forssberg of the Westmont Chamber provi
a presentation on the Economic outlook by William Strauss of the Federal Reserve Bank
This was a very informative program as usual.
Finally, we had a Business after Hours at Merrill Lynch, hosted by Jason Fair
where there was a lucky winner of a new Odyssey putter. We appreciate the great time at th
BAH including food from Yerbabuena. We also had a ribbon-
cutting at the new Kumon lotion in Lisle. Welcome and congratulations to Madhuri Agrawal.
There are many great opportunities for March including Women in Business luncheon, Affo
ble Care Act presentation by Hallberg Insurance, Rotarys Luck of the Irish Business after
Hours at Wheatstackand Multichamber luncheon with 20 other chambers on March 21st. S
you and best wishes for a beautiful spring.

Ambassador SPOTLIGHT Joe Borsche
A member of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce, Joe Borsche became an Ambassador
shortly after joining in May 2007.You will see Joe at luncheons, Business after Hours, and
Ribbon Cuttings. He has also helped out with events for some of the other Chamber Com-mittees. Joe is a firm believer in the Chamber Ambassador program as a great way to get to
know the other chamber members and give them a chance to get to know him. He explains,
It is a great way to build business and personal relationships. To get the most out of the
Chamber I believe you must be active and the Ambassador committee is an excellent way to do that.
oe is the Owner/President/CEO/Founder of Borsche Digital, LLC, a website development and digital photo
work company. This is a one man company, so Joe does all of the work. Most of his time is spent working on web site applica
ions and networking with other chamber members. He has been in the Information Technology field since 1975 doing pro-
gramming and web application development.
Outside of work, Joe has an interest in collecting and preserving for current and future generations all of the family photos he
an find. One of the web applications he has developed over the last 9 years is the Original Photo Book formerly the Family
Photo History Project. He uses this as a place to organize and store the over 4,300 family pictures he has collected so far. Joe
eaves us with this bit of wisdom If you have any old family photo albums take the time to collect the names and date infor-
mation for each picture before it is too late. Because without that information the pictures are of little value to the family.
