2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony

The Buddha’s Birth Is a Blessing for Humanity

Today is an auspicious day. We gather to celebrate the great Buddha's

birthday. But today isn't his birthday, is it? We are celebrating his birthday ahead

of time. The Buddha's birth changed humanity's perspective on the Law of Nature.

If the fate of all sentient beings is predetermined, you can't avoid the suffering you

deserve. It's the same for your blessings, as it is for diseases and tears. This is the

Law of Nature. However, the Buddha's birth brought about a different

understanding of the Law of Nature. It's about taking a different view without

violating the truth in the Law of Nature. This view teaches us to change ourselves

and flow with Nature. In other words, to gain more luck, happiness, and benefits,

we should act right away. True law makes clear what we should do to better

ourselves. For the sake of bettering ourselves and receiving blessings, we should

do good deeds. It's all about taking action. Act to change your fate.

This Buddha truth doesn't contradict the Heavenly Way, but rather flows

along with Nature and thereby changes our lives. How many people hope to obtain

help from the Buddha and the deities? I don't know about others, but I know I very

much want to get the Buddha's help and his energy empowerment. We're all

ordinary people. As ordinary people, we often meet with adversity and suffer

setbacks, spiritually and physically; our children may encounter obstacles, too; or

our careers may be in jeopardy. Or, our family and home may be in dire straits.

These experiences are common in life. Do any of you need help from the Buddha

or deities? Raise your hands. Children really should raise their hands. Do you want

good marks? (Yes.)

The Buddha is the wisest being in the world. So if you want wisdom and to

do well at school, you'd better raise your hands. Those searching for a life partner,

but to no avail, you need the Buddha's help, so raise your hands high, okay? Wave

to me, and you'll soon have good luck. Why are some married people raising their

hands? Put them down. If you wish to improve your finances, raise your hands, too.

Now, I'm representing the Buddha. Just waving your hands will do. Wave to me

and smile at me from deep within, and then you'll soon get rich. Wave again. So

when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay? For those who want

to get rich, I'm your god of wealth. If you insist on keeping me out of your sight,

you lack insight. In future, when you meet me, this god of wealth, you must say

hello, okay? Any language will do. In Chinese, say "Ni hao" or “Hello”, in English.

You must do this, okay? In many aspects of life, we need help. Actually, we need

the most help in gaining health and wisdom.

For school, children need wisdom, which is mental. Once we become adults,

we all need wisdom and insight to aid us in finding a spouse and choosing a career.

It's unfortunate when a smart person chooses the wrong profession. If a person

who is meant to be a military general goes into embroidery, will things turn out

well? No. Whatever factory hires that person to do embroidery will likely have a

liability on their hands. But if he's sent to the battlefield to command troops, he

will be doing what he is meant to do. The time to choose a profession is when your

blessing comes. The time to choose a spouse is when your fate unfurls. It isn't only

females that need blessings for a good marriage, to help them marry the right

person, a successful person, males also need blessings as they search for a life

partner.

If a wise, composed man marries a shrew, it'll be troublesome. For example,

if a wise military strategist had a wife who doubted his loyalty and nagged him a

Page 3: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

lot, he'd be distracted and thus unable to fully execute his strategies. All his

ingenious battle plans and manifestations of wisdom would be rendered

improbable. His wife's nagging would severely distract him, making him less able

to realize his mission. Finding a spouse requires wisdom. In the absence of wisdom,

what should we do? Pray to the Buddha for his blessings. You also need to greet

the Buddha regularly and tell him not to forget you.

How to Communicate with the Buddha and bodhisattvas?

This is how I see the Buddha from the perspective of an ordinary person.

How do we communicate with the Buddha? Whether you believe in the Buddha or

not, you do need help, don't you? Some people say, "I believe in a different

religion." It doesn't matter. It's okay to greet our Buddha. Just treat the Buddha as

your God. Respect brings you no harm, right? The different religions are created

by people's minds. Buddha said that though God is guiding people on different

spiritual paths, they all lead us to become good people.

Thus, when we cross paths with another religion, we should show our

reverence and gratitude. By doing so, we can obtain their help and protection.

Upon meeting Bodhisattva Manjushri, bow and greet him with palms together,

even if you're in a rush. "Dear Bodhisattva, I'm really busy right now. Please give

me more empowerment." It's okay to say this while walking. Bodhisattva knows

that the person asking for help is nice, polite, and has insight. Originally, this person

might have had deep bad karma: say, a hundred sins. You probably don't

understand what bad karma is. It's the result of bad deeds you committed in the

past. Your sin deserves a 10,000-year jail term.

Page 4: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

pg. 4

If, when you see Buddhas and bodhisattvas, you show your reverence,

bodhisattvas will show mercy and give you a chance to atone for past sins. When

you see a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Bodhisattva Manjushri will give you a hint:

Buy a bouquet of flowers for Guanyin Bodhisattva. Upon seeing the flowers,

Guanyin will regard you as a kind person, someone who has heeded Bodhisattva

Manjushri's guidance and teaching and has offered respect. Well, your 1,000-year

jail sentence is lifted. Maybe you don't have much bad karma, not everyone has

negative karma. But let’s say you have merit and virtue, just not enough. You're a

middle-class person with a happy family and well-behaved children, but you can't

obtain great fortune and status.

Guanyin Bodhisattva sees that you have good potential, that you

frequently offer flowers with the hope of receiving blessings, and thinks "I'll give

this person Heavenly treasures to test his wealth capacity." In an instant, a pure

drop of nectar drips upon that person's head. What will happen to him? He'll have

great fortune. While walking, he finds a dirty envelope; he picks it up, intending to

throw it away. But after picking it up, he wonders if it contains a valuable letter.

He opens it to have a look. It seems to be an ordinary letter but after a closer look,

he finds it was signed by Emperor Qianlong. It's a handwritten love letter. My God.

His hands start trembling. Is it genuine? He goes to an organization for

authentication. The director of Taiwan Imperial Palace Museum says, "Oh, my God.

This letter has been missing for several hundred years, and here it is. Do you want

to sell it?" The letter is valued at $2 billion. The man who found it becomes rich.

If deities and Buddhas want you to be happy and fortunate, it's just that

simple. Heaven doesn't lose anything and the Buddhas and bodhisattvas are joyful

and free; they just give you blessings. If a super-rich man wants to help a farmer

live a better life, live in an expensive house, have more cows, cars, and tractors,

Page 5: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

it's simple for a very rich man to help a farmer. An ordinary farmer can't make $2

million no matter how hard he works, but a billionaire could simply give him $10

million. Then the farmer could buy lots of land and cows. For deities and Buddhas,

bestowing great fortune upon people is even easier. So we need to learn to

communicate with deities and Buddhas. How? Whenever you have time, just greet

them. Keep chanting. Like the Shaolin Temple monks, the secret is to keep chanting

and practicing Kung fu. Whenever they have time, ordinary beings should chant

Buddhas' names, okay? (Okay.)

Which Buddha's name to chant? Whichever name you regularly chant.

There's no difference between them. Some like to chant Amitabha; others

Sakyamuni, Medicine Buddha, or Guanyin Bodhisattva. They all work. Chant

whichever you want to chant. The more, the better. There's no harm, right?

Guanyin Bodhisattva gives you happiness; Manjushri gives you wisdom; Great

Power Bodhisattva gives you a career; Medicine Buddha gives you health and

longevity. How wonderful! Chant Namo Sakyamuni Buddha and you'll get great

fortune and status, whatever you wish for. I believe if you understand what I said,

you'll start getting blessings. At this moment, your fate starts to change. "Is it that

miraculous and sacred?" You may wonder, "After I hear your lecture, my life will

start to change?" If you don't believe me, give it a try.

From now on, you'll start greeting Buddhas whenever you meet them. The

best greeting is respect. Treating them as friends is okay. Friends need to show

each other respect, not bully each other, right? No bullying, show respect. Respect

is important. If you revere deities and Buddhas, their great compassion is such that,

just by your respect alone, they'll bring you limitless happiness. How wonderful!

Changing one's fate is as simple as that. It's hard to read the Buddhist Sutras, right?

After reading the Buddhist Sutras, many people have found their blood pressure

Page 6: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

has spiked from normal to high because they couldn't get it. My Buddha dharma

teaching is very simple. An ordinary person may say: "Master, I'm not ordinary, I'm

a rich man." Or, "I'm a professor." There's no difference between the rich and the

poor, between "Jiaoshou" (professors) and "Yeshou" (beasts).

They're all high-level beasts. Scientists have made it clear that humans are

simply high-level animals. Standing together with pandas or monkeys, you're

simply one of the crowd. The monkeys say, "These human monkeys are quite sly."

There's no difference between you and them. You're still an animal. You're still an

ordinary sentient being. However high our qualifications are or how much money

we have, we're still common people. We always encounter some obstacles in life.

Try this, whenever you see a Buddha, revere him. Whenever there's a dharma

ceremony, be there to get some Buddha light; fill yourself with the fragrance of oil

and flowers, then you're blessed.

Revering Buddhadharma and Buddhist Practitioners Begets Blessings

When you encounter a Buddhist practitioner, remember that even a touch

of his clothes will probably bring you blessings. When you go home today, the

business or career that has you stuck or is at the brink of bankruptcy may prosper

again if you've touched the corner of your master's clothes. Your clarity comes and

you sort things out, and then you're not going to go broke, but prosper; your

business is going to expand and improve. This is called "Buddhadharma turning the

rotten into the miraculous." What is Buddhardharma on Earth? As I just said, a

drop of nectar from deities and Buddhas would glorify your whole life; their ray of

light makes your life full of radiance. A family's wealth is often not sustained

beyond three generations. If you truly protect Buddhadharma and revere Buddhas,

prosperity for many generations is surely guaranteed. If you think your children

Page 7: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

don't listen to you, it doesn't matter. When they reach adulthood and start making

big decisions, Buddhas and bodhisattvas will guide them to the right path. Things

will not go wrong. The worst things most teenagers do are nothing but occasional

speeding, drinking, or smoking. Once they pass this period, they'll give up these

things, after having experienced them and finding no thrill.

Trying these things may not be bad; it's nothing but life experience. In the

future, Buddhas and bodhisattvas will guide them to their right paths. They won't

make mistakes; they'll be full of achievements. It's as simple as that. Do not

mistake me as one who gives a tantric mantra that'll save your career. There's no

tantric mantra that furthers your career; it's Buddhas who give you the benefit.

You'll always be blessed in many ways. In what aspect has Guanyin Bodhisattva

bestowed blessing upon us today? Likewise for Bodhisattva Manjushri? In fact,

Buddhas and bodhisattvas bestow blessings in completeness to benefit us in all

aspects; they don't just give a single benefit, unless that's what you ask for. So if

you want this blessing and support, revere Buddhas. It's just that simple.

Don't ask why. It's inexplicable. Let's not talk about Buddhas or

bodhisattvas anymore. If I, your master, a common Buddhist practitioner, like

someone and want to help him, I'll just think accordingly. Then his situation will

improve; he'll become rich. The places I've been to or have lived in will become

prosperous. I'm now at the Taipei Center in Taiwan celebrating the Buddha's

birthday with you. Since I came to Taiwan six years ago, Taiwan's economy has

been recovering, right? Taiwan practitioners, do you agree? I've also been to Korea.

Its economy has been recovering. After we opened a big Bodhi Center in Busan,

Korea, housing prices in Busan have doubled; it has become a famous international

metropolis. There are many such examples. I'm not talking about how powerful I

Page 8: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

am. It's not me, it's my boss. Who's my boss? Sakyamuni Buddha. I bring the

Buddha light to places. Wherever it goes, it's meant to benefit all sentient beings.

So, initially, we practice to obtain blessings from Buddhas and bodhisattvas,

so that we gain the wisdom, energy, health, and confidence to face our afflictions

and obstacles. If you practice further, some of you will become like me. You'll travel

to wherever there are big problems as a representative of Buddhas and

bodhisattvas, blessing and pacifying the frightened people, calming them down.

Once people are thinking calmly, things will get easier and peace may prevail. So

wherever there are Buddhists and chanters, you'll find happiness, auspiciousness,

peace, and stability. When there are no severe natural or man-made disasters,

people can enjoy basic peace and stability.

When severe famines occur, our happiness vanishes. Lives are in danger.

However, when there are no such disasters, greed arises. Then problems ensue.

Disasters may also occur even though you're not greedy. Thus, we start learning

about ourselves in depth, and, eventually, you'll know yourself better. Take your

time to do so, and I believe you can eventually realize the truth through various

Buddhist schools. But if you walk the path of Bodhi Meditation, it's much easier for

you to realize it. I was a suffering, ignorant person, but I've been practicing and

benefiting from Buddhadharma, and thus, I am able to teach you these methods.

No need to learn in-depth tantra; just understanding simple truth and

acting accordingly will do. How? What do we do when we see Buddhas and

bodhisattvas? First, learn to greet them. Second, revere them. Then, receive the

Buddha light. Wherever there are dharma ceremonies, go and receive the Buddha

light. When you see Buddhist practitioners begging on the street, make some

contribution? Don't wonder if they're frauds. You never know, one might be the

embodiment of Guanyin Bodhisattva, right? By thinking this way, you revere them.

Page 9: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

They might be fake practitioners, but your heart is genuine, right? When you

revere Buddhist practitioners, you actually revere the Buddha.

Master JinBodhi’s Blessing to Clear Blockages

If a practitioner is actually the embodiment of a Buddha and you don't

revere him, you miss a good opportunity to receive Buddha light, right? Now, does

anyone want to shake hands with me? Wow, there are so many; then just wave to

me. At the moment, hundreds of thousands of people all over the world are

celebrating the Buddha's birthday with me. Those in front of a TV or a computer,

please wave your hands at me. All of you can feel my energy. The on-site fellow

practitioners are feeling it, right? Even if this is your first time, I'm sure you can feel

my energy. Let me do it this way. If I wave my hands, you can feel it. Now, I'll stop

waving; you wave to me. Greeting an auspicious person brings auspiciousness.

Now, stop waving. Your hands don't move, but mine do. You'll have a stronger

sensation. The most powerful energy from deities, Buddhas, and the Universe is

being transmitted to every hand facing me. Let them obtain health and

auspiciousness. (Received.)

Be quiet. Now, turn your palms toward me. The energy is being transmitted

to you. My whole body is numb as if shocked by an electric current. Om ... let all

sufferings vanish. Om ... let all obstructions be eliminated. Om ... let all sentient

beings have illuminated bodies and minds and be at ease. Let people with leg pain

be able to walk and be free from the pain. Let people with headaches become clear,

pure and free. Let the blockages of those with lower back pain be loosened and

removed. Okay, put down your hands. (Thank you, Master.)

Page 10: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

Rub your hands, rub your face. Then put your hands, one over the other,

on your chest. Don't waste the energy. Visualize -- I am pure and free; my wisdom

is boundless. Okay, put your hands down. After the celebration ceremony, some

people will find that their physical ailments are gone. The headache crisis that has

been plaguing you is solved. I believe that everyone here will obtain what they

deserve. Next, I'll use a unique method to help all sentient beings and everyone at

this ceremony get what they deserve. What I'm touching is a piece of white paper.

I'm holding a pencil. First, let me help you with your head problems. What's the

head for? I once asked a child this question. He said, “It's for eating.” His answer is

correct. A businessman said, “It's for thinking.” Our heads have two functions. Our

mental obstructions, such as a lack of wisdom, and afflictions, all arise from our

mental state. For instance, your Buddhist practice has become stuck. You've gone

astray and can't attain enlightenment. This could be because of a mental block.

We want to awaken our wisdom. The brain structures of Buddhas,

bodhisattvas, and great Buddhist achievers are different from those of ordinary

people. After practicing for some time, our body and brain will be transformed.

Your body is made of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen, but a practitioner's body may

contain an extra element. So, their bodies are different. Many great Buddhist

achievers have boundless wisdom because of such a transformation. There are

many problems related to our head: headaches, insomnia and phobias -- being

timid in all circumstances. This is related to the damage done to the brain arising

from shock; brain cells are damaged or channels in the brain are blocked. When

many fellow practitioners practice in Bodhi Centers, they cry floods of tears, right?

Then they feel relaxed after the catharsis. What is discharged? Obstructions in your

brain.

Page 11: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

Too many obstructions result in diseases, such as hardening of the brain

arteries, memory loss, frustration, and quick temper. With these obstructions in

the brain, how can we awaken our wisdom? Your brain is stuffed with many things;

the problem is that some people's brains have been blocked since birth. That's very

troublesome. I was one of them. Well, this is your head. Is it beautiful? (Yes.)

Extremely beautiful. Feel free to receive the healing energy. This is your

head. If you have a poor memory, if you're not smart enough and often blocked,

or you like to argue, gossip, criticize, scold others, betray others' secrets, or cheat,

etc., all these problems are related to the head and indicate an unhealthy mental

state. I'll use my healing method of drawing to eliminate your disease -- Tayata

Om Bekanze Bekanze Maha Bekanze Radza Samudgate Soha -- I'll erase it now and

empower you; once again I'll erase all your obstructions and afflictions. Then your

body and mind will be relaxed -- Tayata Om Bekanze Bekanze Maha Bekanze Radza

Samudgate Soha -- Now I'll erase head blockages. The purpose of this is to clear all

sinful karma, all bad things in our brain or mind; then I'll add some medicine to fix

and cleanse it.

Purity Creates Unity with the Universe, Thus Wisdom

I'll turn you into a new being, a pure person; purity creates wisdom. In the

absence of purity, there is chaos, like a bowl of water that contains swirling

garbage, dirty things. When the water settles and becomes still, it's clear. You can

try it yourself. Use a transparent pail and fill it with ditch water. After being allowed

to settle for some time, every layer is clearly separated. The purity is visible. When

you're pure, you can observe clearly. With clear observation, you make less

mistakes. This is the basic concept of purity. The deeper concept of purity calls for

spiritual insight. To be pure is to be one with the Universe, to be in unity with the

Page 12: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

pg. 12

Universe. This unity is the state of great wisdom. The mind of the average person

is often chaotic, confused, and tangled. Such a person is often asking what to do

in the face of immense chaos. "What should I do?" Or, "Oh dear, what should I

do?" Right? In a chaotic state, we're unable to differentiate between right and

wrong. At times, we persist in thinking our view is right when in fact it's wrong. We

can't see clearly: "I believed I was right, but it turned out I was wrong."

Why is that so? Because you don't see the truth. So I am here to give you

purification. From now on, our wisdom is awakened, and the mind is pure and calm.

In the future, we'll see things with clarity, insight, and wisdom. Those who have

headaches, insomnia, tinnitus, and toothaches have started to feel relaxed. Do you

feel it? Those who were feeling uneasy are now relieved, please raise your hands.

Very good. Yes, you can surely feel it. A few days from now, you may notice: "How

come I've become smarter?" By "smartness" I mean a big smartness called wisdom.

"Big smartness" is wisdom. Small smartness is just "cleverness," which a petty

person possesses.

A sage has wisdom, which is the best and the most reasonable; he is more

auspicious and freer. As for this healing drawing, I'm adding more blessings to it. I

don't really have in mind what to draw. This blessed drawing is now completed.

Wherever you are, anywhere around the world, if you wish to have this drawing,

raise your hand. It's a drawing of blessings! What are its benefits? I don't know. If

you don't want it, please raise your hand. I see hands up for both reasons. I can

see that many are at a loss as to when to raise your hand in order to have this

drawing. Hold this drawing for an hour. I don't know what I drew. I was just inspired

by the Buddha at the time, and I instantly drew it. You all saw how fast I drew.

Sometimes artists spend months finishing one painting. That would make me

impatient. They are too slow.

Page 13: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

Energy Healing on the Spine

Now, put this away. Let's continue. I'll go on with healing by drawing to

cure diseases between the neck and hips. This area is like the middle part of a

gourd. It's the trunk of a human body. What diseases can show up there? It varies

from person to person. Some have spinal problems. The spine is the backbone, and

it consists of vertebrae. (The bones of pigs and cows aren't much different from

those of humans.)

Spinal problems are common; almost 100% of people have them to

different degrees of severity. Among adults over 35 years old, almost all have the

problem. Among those over 45 years old, no one is exempt. It could be several

parts of the spine that have problems. Also, there can be problems in internal

organs such as the heart, liver, lungs, spleen, kidneys, stomach, intestines, and the

reproductive system, especially that of females. Today's food, air quality, and

stress are the main causes of various illnesses; inflammation and tumors are very

common. These problems affect a very high percentage of women. I won't

mention the percentage. It would scare you. All these problems make life

troublesome. I'm not here to talk about medical theory. I'm talking about the

Buddha's empowerment. I just used my drawing to express this empowerment.

This body slants a bit.

Not many bodies are completely straight. It doesn't matter. I just scribbled.

Some Taoist healing figure drawings look even worse. This kind of drawing is not

for display. I don't need to look while drawing it. You don't, either. You just relax.

Your diseases will come out as black smoke. Some sensitive people can feel it, right?

In the form of a liquid, disease might squirt out of your soles. Kidney or gallbladder

stones will later be found on the ground. Those present here may not have brought

Page 14: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

paper. If possible, spread a piece of newspaper, a clean paper, on the floor. And

brush the dust from your clothes. Sit here listening to me and when the ceremony

ends, you'll discover right under your feet some sand particles, stones, or dust.

These didn't come from the environment, nor are they unidentified matter such

as UFOs. These things are purged from your own body and are similar to stones

and tumors. What's chanting? Chant after me. Whose birthday falls on today?

(Sakyamuni Buddha's.)

Chanting Buddha’s Holy Name

Now, let's chant together. Follow me in chanting Buddha's name. This is

called chanting. Chant with your heart, with reverence and purity. Though this may

sound contradictory, try to enter this state of mind. Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mo Ni Fo.

Those who chant with me will be blessed. Don't be lazy. Many unwise people say:

"I don't chant, and you can't find out." But the Buddha can, as he's above you.

Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mo Ni Fo. Bend and gently turn your waist. This will exercise

your spine. You may want to stand up to move your waist. Move as if you have a

tail. Move your buttocks as well. Move your neck. I'm giving you healing, I'm giving

you blessing. Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mo Ni Fo. Move your "tail." Namo Ben Shi Shi

Jia Mo Ni Fo. Please be seated. Now I'm erasing the drawing. Don't worry: It's

diseases that are being erased. Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mo Ni Fo. Be more sincere.

Your diseases are disappearing quickly. Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mo Ni Fo. Now, stand

up and pat all over your body. Cough loudly a couple of times.

After patting, stroke gently. After patting yourself, you need closing

movements. Closing is gently sliding your hands over your body from your head

down. I hope the Buddha's energy and light can be transmitted to everyone

connected with me. May you reap both physical and mental benefits! (Received.)

I also believe that after today's ceremony many diseases will either

dissipate or disappear entirely. It's quite possible. Such miracles have happened so

many times in Bodhi Meditation. If you, fellow practitioners, have gained such

benefits, please write about them and post online; doing so will benefit both

yourself and others. If you hear this teaching and blessing and go on to spread it

as much as possible, you'll benefit yourself, as well as others. I believe many have

benefited from my teaching today. Today I feel that the Buddha's empowering

energy is extremely potent. It's extraordinary! I believe many people have

benefited from it because I feel the Buddha draws closer and closer to me. Many

things are inexplicable but extraordinary.

So I'm sure you will benefit from this energy. After my blessings, I followed

the Buddha's inspiration and drew a new picture on the paper from which the

other picture was erased. It is an auspicious drawing that will bring you multiple

benefits. Hanging it at home or at the office will bring you auspiciousness. It's the

same as feng shui. If you don't have big blessings and energy, you won't get good

fortune. With this energy and this auspicious object, you can reach out to more

people and gather greater fortune; only then will your ambitions be achieved. It'll

help you a lot. If you want to purchase this picture, call the Taipei Center. Next,

move your legs. Relax them a bit. Now, I'm going to blow a few breaths at your

body. A few puffs will remove your diseases. Next, I'll offer candle lighting for your

wishes in front of the Buddha. I'll light them myself. Thanks to everyone. (Thank

you, Master.)

Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mo Ni Fo. Please turn down the chanting music. Today,

we come to receive the Buddha light. All connected people have received the

Buddha light. I believe it. Do you believe it? (Yes.)

If you believe it, I'm sure you've received the Buddha light. Your issue or

problem will be solved quickly. (Received.)

Change Unlucky Times By Accumulating Merit and Chanting

When I was lighting candles for practitioners just now, did you notice that

some candles didn't light even after trying 10 times? (Yes.)

Sincere light-offering is efficacious. But when it's hard to light them,

Buddha is giving you a signal that in the near future, you may encounter some

obstacles in health, career, family, children, or other important aspects of life.

These practitioners need to dispel disasters. I'm not a fortune-teller. I wouldn't

suggest you go buy two candles to let me help you in diminishing your disasters. I

wouldn't. It's about whether your cumulative merits are sufficient to ward off

disasters; merit and disaster need to strike a balance. Besides that, the Law of

Nature impacts your fate, year by year. When you reach a particular point in time,

or a certain cosmic space, combined with the influence of your astrological chart,

you may or may not be lucky.

When the time is ripe for troubles, things just won't go smoothly. It doesn't

mean you're unlucky your whole life. Just at this time, you may face danger. For

instance, if you row a boat on the Yangtze River, it may capsize when you reach

the sea. Though you have been lucky thus far, you may eventually be down on your

luck. So at this unlucky moment, the worst case is that some boats capsize

completely. Some boats may survive storms. Other boats not only survive but also

enjoy a smoother journey thereafter.

The unlucky practitioners should heed this advice: Accumulate more merit

and chant more. Come to protect and support Bodhi Centers. Bodhi Meditation is

Page 17: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

pg. 17

a place for actual practice, which is most effective. If you don't believe me, select

a lot, and you'll know. Every Bodhi Center provides the lot-drawing service.

Fortune-telling is not our purpose; we just want you to be aware of your current

luck. If you practice well, all the lots you draw are good. If you get bad ones, it

doesn't matter. Just accumulate more merit and practice more. Your fate will be

changed. As I was lighting the candles just now, people in the front saw that I had

a hard time; some candles just wouldn't light. I was very worried and kept pressing

the lighter till my hand was sore. But I lit other candles right away. This is normal.

If your candle doesn't light easily, take heed. Today, we're here to receive

the Buddha light; it's a good day for bathing in the Buddha light. All who are on site

today, friends and practitioners, have received the Buddha light. If you like, I'll use

the Buddha light and his holy water to bless you and dispel your calamity, to

diminish all afflictions and adversities. I wish you auspiciousness, ease, health,

longevity, good luck, and that all wishes are fulfilled. (Received.)

The most powerful energy that is blessed in the sacred water will bring you

fortune and good luck in career and in relationships. And for those having

problems in relationships, those having difficulty in finding a spouse, and husbands

and wives lacking harmony, will be blessed with happiness and auspiciousness.

(Received.)

Let me sprinkle some water on you, is that okay? (Okay.)

Then, I'll start. (Okay, thank you, Master.)

May all calamities disappear! May good luck and all wishes be granted!

Thank you, all. Bless you, all. Good luck! May all wishes be granted! I wish you

health and longevity! (Thank you, Master. Received.)

I wish you great fortune. (Thank you, Master.)

Blessing for Weight Loss

I have another treasure to show you. Do you want to see it? (Yes.)

Those who want to lose weight, please raise your hand. Anyone want to

trim your waist? (Yes.)

The people here, and anyone who later watches this video, will receive the

benefit. I guarantee I can turn a thick waist into a thing of beauty. This skill was

originally a type of energy of magic incantations. I just customized it for your health.

In fact, the Buddha didn't teach me this specific waist-slimming skill.

Which is better, to be slim or heavy? (Slim is better.)

Since many people want to be slim, I'll just grant your wish. (Okay.)

It's your waist, not mine, that needs slimming. Being slim does make you

look good in clothes. In the past, I tried to slim your waist. Did it work? (Yes.)

If you say it didn't, you'd better leave. There's no reason for it not to work.

Well, someone told me that she lost two kilos, but in a month, it came back. Why?

She said, "I ate supper." She said that there's a saying: "A horse can't put on weight

without late-night meals." Overeating at night definitely causes weight gain. Take

care to keep slim after my blessing. The simple secret: stop eating, if you're full.

Humans can do it. You can do it. Only pigs can't. Stop eating if you're full. Okay.

(Okay.)

Some people just can't control their mouth and hands. When they're

already full, they keep putting food in their mouths. It's the same as pigs. If you do

that, your waist will become wide. I'll worry for you. Take heed. If you want to be

more beautiful, self-regulate. Practice self-awareness. If you can't control your

Page 19: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

pg. 19

hands and mouth, it's due to unawareness. Swift weight gain is super-unawareness.

Well, this is your waist. It's quite slim, right? Actually, I can make it slimmer. Do

ladies know their waist size? I won't help those who don't know, because you don't

care about yourself. Some feel hopeless and have stopped caring.

If it's already as wide as a big pail, why bother? They don't even care

whether the traffic light is red or green. Obese people may become very depressed.

You can't behave like this. From today on, be self-aware. Pay attention to your

waist size. Measure it, and I'm sure you'll lose some weight. If not, I'll give you a

new waist. But you'll have to get new skirts and pants. You don't need to take a

deep breath. Just relax. Don't worry, this towel isn't you, but I can twist your waist

slimmer. Water is being wrung out. Wow, it's fat. It's not nectar, but fat. This is the

extra stuff you ate. Keep losing. You know how hard it is to lose weight at the spa.

I watched an American film about losing weight. Doctors do surgery to remove fat

from an obese person.

Humans and pigs lose weight in a similar fashion; both need an operation.

Here we don't need it. In the future, your wide waist will become slim. You'll

become charming. Fat still keeps coming out. Look, now you receive more Buddha

light. I can't wring anymore, so I'll stop. In fact, wringing hard is cheating, since it's

a magic incantation. Now some of you can feel a change in your waist; it's

becoming slimmer. Let me teach you some tips on losing weight. When you get up

in the morning, drink a big glass of water first thing. If you're not used to cold water,

drink warm water, but not hot water. It's not conducive to health. By warm water,

I mean room temperature. It helps excretion. When food stays too long in your

intestines, you end up absorbing things you shouldn't. Absorbing toxins

encourages weight gain. In order to trim your waist, I'll give you the energy needed

to fast.

Page 20: 2013 - Bathing the Buddha Blessing Ceremony © 2013 Master ...putilibrary.org/alphorism/2_2013BuddhaBlessingCeremony.pdf · when you see me outside the Bodhi Center, greet me, okay?

pg. 20

From now on, you don't need to eat and aren't hungry. Some people can

fast for more than two weeks. They're not hungry and don't feel like eating. But

it's not sickness. If you become hungry, you can begin to eat, but not too much.

Eat liquid food, such as porridge. Start with liquid, but don't eat until you're too

full. Heed this advice: When starting to eat after spontaneous fasting, do not eat

dry, fried, or greasy food; I'd suggest eating vegetarian food, porridge and some

vegetables, especially raw ones. It's conducive to digestion and excretion. After

not eating for many days, your intestines will be empty; excretion won't be easy,

so eat liquid food and vegetables, and drink lots of water. Better not eat baked

foods, such as pizza.

If you do, it'll stick to your insides and will be difficult to excrete. Particularly,

pizza topped with cheese and meat will stick to your insides. Pizza makers are

definitely unhappy to hear me say this. But even they don't eat it often, because

after eating it for a week, it gets stuck inside for a month. It's baked, toasted; all

the flour is burnt. The property of the flour has been changed. The grease in it has

all dried up. As your waist becomes slimmer, we'll keep track of the centimeters

you lose. For each centimeter lost, you treat me to one dinner, okay? (Okay.)

If you lose three centimeters, then do cleaning at a Bodhi Center for three

days, okay? If it's 10 centimeters, then distribute 1,000 magazines. Okay? (Okay.)

I wish you all the best! (Thank you, Master. )

Thank you, all.
