Financial aid is a grant, scholarship, loan or employment opportunity assisting students with educational expenses. Most

financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need, or the difference between the cost of education (tuition, fees, books,

transportation, etc.) and the amount parents and/or students can contribute toward these expenses. Forbes‘ applicants may

qualify for a PELL grant or Stafford Loan.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In order to be eligible for many forms of financial aid a student must:

1. Be a citizen or eligible non-citizen of the United States.

2. Be enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program.

3. Have a high school diploma or GED®.

4. Be in good academic standing and maintain satisfactory progress according to college, state and federal regulations.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The

Financial Aid Consultant reviews the applicant FAFSAs and reports eligibility information to the Adult

Forbes students who qualify for a federal grant or loans may be eligible for the maximum amount of aid

according to the cost of attendance (COA) shown to the right established for the 2013-2014 academic

year. Part time students and those attending less than 900 hours will be awarded aid based on their

projected hours of attendance.

EMPLOYER PAID

Advertising Design

Automotive Technology

Program Description

The field of advertising and commercial art requires people who

possess a wide range of creative skills. Today‘s commercial artist

must be familiar with many forms of production, illustrative

techniques, computer graphics and photography. From simple line

drawings to computer-generated imaging, the students create art

that requires them to apply technical theory to an advertising

agency workplace. Students will apply their designs on state-of-the

-art equipment including digital printers, laser engravers, vinyl

cutters, a sublimation system and the embroidery machine. This

program is designed to allow students to bring together many areas

of creative graphic design and production technologies.

Program Description

Automotive Technology students will disassemble and rebuild

engines, use computer to diagnosis problems and have the

opportunity to earn their PA State Inspection and Emissions

Certification. Our Automotive Technology program is NATEF

(National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) certified

and meets strict industry standards. Students gain a clear

understanding of the automotive service industry, basic technology

skills, career opportunities and the steps necessary for success in

the field. The Automotive Technology course includes specialized

technical knowledge and "hands-on" experiences in the diagnosis,

maintenance and repair of the modern automobile.

Program Description

Building Construction Technology students gain technical

knowledge, as well as, practical hands-on training in the

construction trades that include carpentry, plumbing, electrical,

masonry and blueprint reading. Individuals learn to apply technical

knowledge and skills in the maintenance and repair of residential,

office, apartment, and other commercial buildings. Students are

prepared for entry-level positions.

Program Description

Child Care Service program participants receive practical

experience in a local daycare facility. Students study all the phases

of child development: physical, social, emotional and intellectual.

They learn about nutrition, guidance, and discipline. They study how

to help the child develop daily living skills and about the value of

play, literature, music, art, math, and science in child development.

Students present a series of learning and developmental activities

in the child care facility practicing their creative teaching, child

caring and management skills.

Program Description

The Collision Repair Technology, NATEF (National Automotive

Technicians Education Foundation) certified, program gives you the

skills to transform wrecked vehicles into a custom designed master

piece. Students are instructed in the use of state of the art

equipment to replace and repair automotive body parts. Students

personalize and customize vehicles by learning refinishing/painting

techniques.

Today‘s auto body technicians must be trained in the construction of

the automobile body and framework. Automobile production uses

materials and manufacturing techniques that demand that the auto

body repair technician be competent in metalworking, welding, uni-

body construction, surface preparation, spray painting, and accurate

repair estimating. Students use safe and modern repair equipment

in all phases of their training.

This exciting academic and technical course prepares students to

design, develop, support, and maintain the Information Technology

(IT) systems which support every aspect of our global economy. The

curriculum includes all aspects of network design, installation and

troubleshooting in a ―live work‖ laboratory working on actual

customer computer and network equipment. Students will gain the

practical experience needed for A+ and Network certification.

Students will learn about the different computers and network

attacks used by hackers to breach security, how to proactively and

reactively counter those attacks, and how to detect intrusions and

defeat these attempts of data theft.

Program Description

This program builds a foundation of both academic and technical

skills for a variety of career opportunities within the cosmetology

industry. The course includes skills in performing procedures in such

areas as: hair, skin, and nail care, as well as, salon procedures.

Related instruction is presented as it applies to the skills being

demonstrated. Upon completion of the required 1,250 hours of

instruction, students will be eligible to take the Pennsylvania State

Board cosmetology test to obtain a Cosmetology license.

Culinary Arts is designed to offer instruction in the commercial

restaurant industry including areas such as gourmet and fine dining

skills, fast food operations, customer service, menu planning, and

cost-control along with other important aspects of food service.

This highly appealing and interesting area stresses the technology

of preparing and serving attractive nutritious foods. Students learn

the complete food cycle including nutrition, ordering processes,

Diesel Technology

Program Description

Trucks and heavy equipment are part of virtually every aspect of

today‘s transportation, construction, and manufacturing industries.

Most of these vehicles are powered by diesel engines. The diesel

truck technology course trains its students in the repair and

servicing of diesel-powered equipment. Special emphasis is placed

on the direct needs of local business and industry. Technical

knowledge is enhanced by "hands-on" work involving actual

maintenance activities of school owned vehicles and equipment.

While the emphasis is on diesel engines, gasoline powered

equipment and vehicles are also included as part of the

instructional program. Students have the opportunity to obtain state

safety inspection licenses.

Program Description

Students in this program are prepared for entry level electrical and

electronics careers. Their hands-on applications include green

technology in the program‘s state-of-the art electrical laboratory.

Modern training equipment is utilized to prepare the students for

careers in the emerging "high-tech" electrical field. Technical

knowledge include, installing electrically energized residential,

commercial and industrial systems, AC/DC motors, controls, and

electrical distribution panels. Through the program, student will

Program Description

Emergency Response Services program is for students interested in

pursuing a career, volunteer service, or additional post-secondary

education in emergency medical service, law enforcement, fire or

emergency management services. Students may also gain

employment in areas of security and industrial safety. The program

will challenge students with technical knowledge, as well as, hands-

on training in a fully equipped on-site lab which includes a fire tower

and a fire truck. The program of study includes high technical areas

such as: firefighting, emergency rescues, medical emergencies,

patient transport, and law enforcement.

The Gas Well Tending Energy Specialist programs provide

specialized training covering various aspects of the natural gas

industry. The Gas Well Tending Energy Specialist class is an 80 hour

course that includes three groups of study: General Knowledge,

Terminology, and Industry Specific Safety Training. Industry

Regulations and environmental issues pertinent to each area of

study are discussed and reviewed. The program supplies the

graduate with general knowledge basic to a wide range of jobs in the

natural gas industry.

Program Description

Students in this program become qualified HVAC technicians and

mechanics. Students will learn technical tasks including:

assembling and installing air and gas systems; cutting, reaming

and threading piping materials; waterproofing and sealing joints;

testing devices; installing gas and water plumbing fixtures and

equipment; reading and implementing blueprint drawings; and

Landscape Design

Program Description

Landscape design is a profession that focuses on designing gardens

and small, often residential landscapes. The Landscape Design

program immerses students in the history and theory of garden

design, broadens their horticultural knowledge and plant

vocabulary, and nurtures their creativity while grounding them

technically. This program is a specialized curriculum designed to

prepare students to be desirable employees of nurseries,

greenhouses, florists or landscape businesses. Both maintenance

Machine Tool Technology is a high paying field that requires both

Program Description

The manicuring program teaches the students the basics of

manicuring and pedicuring, as well as advanced techniques and

This 35 hour, 10 week, course is designed to provide the fundamen-

tal skills necessary for creating milling geometry and tool operations.

The class will include basic job set-up, machine definition, geometry

creation, tool paths, wire frame development, and post processing.

Students will develop and transfer programs to a HAAS milling

machine.

Course Description

The 35 hour CNC programming course will provide instruction on

safe operation, G code and program formats used in CNC program-

ming. Students will learn all of the various functions of the HAAS

and Fadal control units, and write and run CNC programs. The

second part of the course will concentrate on advanced CNC

Course Description

The OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Course is designed to familiarize

The PEC Basic Orientation SafeLand USA safety awareness course is

an industry accepted basic safety orientation training course

designed to give each student a general understanding of safety

issues in the oil and gas industry. This one-day program provides a

basic understanding at an awareness level of certain general safety

information that an employee should know before entering a compa-

ny facility and while performing their assigned work duties.

Upon successful completion of course, each student is issued a

picture ID with a unique barcode. The student information is then

stored in an online database. This orientation provides training to an

awareness level for the following topics: Confined Spaces, Hydrogen
