Important Changes to Parking Bethel has for many years paid the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism for the use of their parking lot on the north side of the church directly behind the synagogue. Unfortunately, with the recent expiration of that agreement, we have been unable to arrive at terms that would allow us in good conscience to continue that usage. After reviewing the cost of renewing the lease with the synagogue, which was over $250,000 more than alternative parking arrangements that are available to our church, the Session unanimously determined that Bethel should terminate the lease and implement alternative parking arrangements. While this will necessarily be less convenient for some of our members and attenders, the Session believes that continuing the lease would detract significantly from the ministry of our church and does not represent good stewardship of the funds you entrust to this ministry. The Session is grateful that the owner of the office complex directly across from Bethel at 800 and 750 Bering is willing to make all surface parking at both buildings and all of the garage parking at 800 Bering available to the church on Sunday at no charge. Beginning immediately, we request that all Sunday parking on the Bethel campus be reserved for our visitors, seniors and those needing assistance, and we ask that other members and regular attenders begin using the office parking across the street. The garage at 800 Bering is now open, and security, traffic direction and crossing assistance will be provided for office parking by an offduty policeman on Sunday mornings. Our deacons and volunteers are working on signage and directions to make these changes clear, and a parking diagram is available at the Welcome Desk. We understand that some time will be needed to become acclimated to these changes, but as of September 1st, Bethel will have no right to park on the synagogue lot. We ask that you respect their ownership of that lot and our testimony as followers of Jesus Christ and not park on the lot at any time, including both weekends and weekdays. Important Changes to ParkingBethel  has  for  many  years  paid  the  Houston  Congregation  for  Reform  Judaism  for  the  use  of  their  parking  lot  on  the  north  side  of  the  church  directly  behind  the  synagogue.

The  garage  at  800  Bering  is  now  open,  and  security,  traffic  direction  and  crossing  assistance  will  be  provided  for  office  parking  by  an  off-‐duty  policeman  on  Sunday  mornings.
