We are so excited that you are looking for a photographer and even more thankful that you are considering hiring Catherine Alexander Photography to capture your portraits. For the past 3 years Melissa and I have been blessed with the opportunity to capture hundreds of family and children's portraits throughout Eastern North Carolina and beyond and we can't wait to work with you!

Photo-shoots aPhoto-shoots are all about having fun. That is why days and weeks before the session we work directly work with you to come up with a vision and theme. Rather than take “look at the camera and say 'cheese'” portraits, we want to tell the story that best shows your joy, love and passion. The theme can be very simple, such as a picnic in the park, or an elaborate story line. Regardless of what direction we go, we will make sure that your photography experience is fun and free of any stress. It is our goal to maximize your portrait investment and capture images that you will cherish for the rest of your life.

CHOSING YOUR LOCATION

One of our most commonly asked questions is “Do you know a location that we can do the photo shoot, because we dont?” Our simple answer is, YES!

We are on location photographers, which means that we go to you. The great thing about this is that if you want your shoot infront of the water, can do that, the city, we can do that, the country,same thing!

In the end, the best location is a place that means something to In the end, the best location is a place that means something to you. When your friends and family enjoy the images we capture, they will not focus on the location as much as they will focus on you. Let’s work together to find the best possible location for your session!

FAMILY PORTRAITS

Your family portrait session is going to be an experience you will likely never forget. It is our highest priority to create an environ-ment that you and your entire family will be able to be your-selves. We understand the hesitation many people have when getting their picture taken, people may be concerned about looking good, about their smile, or something else.

We take time before the day of the photo shoot to come up with a game plan (location, style, theme and so on) that best suits you and your family. And on the day of the shoot, our approach to the photo shoot is that we are going to hang out have a good time, and in the process capture awesome portraits of your family interacting with and loving each other.

YYes, it is likely that we will capture some pictures where the person is looking at the camera and smiling, but our main goal is to let our camera be a fly on the wall looking into the special rela-tionship shared within your family.

How do we do that? We come up with a theme, it may be a picnic in the park, a family game night, or something else, and with that in place you and your family are less focused on cheesing it for the camera, and more focused on having a good time with each other. And when you are having a good time, your pictures will rock!

WWe typically suggest no more than 3 locations, and the entire session usually lasts around 2 hours.

We are so excited about working with you, and can't wait to come up with an amazing game plan to make your session something you, your friends and your family will admire for years to come.

Children grow up way too fast. It is unbelievable how much they grow in their first year, and how quickly they go from being 1 to 18. We are excited about capturing your little one while they are still little and getting pictures to show off their tiny'ness. Little details like their tiny feet, ears, nose, the radiant joy that they bring to all around when they laugh and smile asmile are all things we capture! We know you will cherish these pictures forever and are pumped about having the opportunity to capture them.

We are on location photographers, which means we travel to you. We can go to your house, a park, the beach, a field, or wherever you feel would be best to capture the portraits of your little one.

We absolutely love finding new and unique places and creating new themes for our child-rens portraits. In order to do that, we will work with you weeks ahead to coordinate location, style, and themes. This can be as simple as a day in the park, flying a kite, or a day at the beach.We have lots of little tricks to get your little one to smile and be happy, but the greatest thing you can do to insure that they are happy and in a perfect mood is to work with us to plan the shoot around their sleep schedule. Happy children make portraits you will cherish for a lifetime!

After each session is over we will narrow down the hundreds of images we captured down to roughly 100 edited images. After finishing the images we will upload them to a password protected gallery where you, your family, and friends can preview and purchase the images from the family portraits.

We really strive to keep our print prices as affordable We really strive to keep our print prices as affordable as possible while maintaining a quality product that reflects your portrait investment. We use an amazing lab, PICTAGE, that is one of the industry leading printing labs in the country.


ORDERING PRINTS


IMAGES + PRINTING RIGHTS $200.00

After every session we do, we upload all edited images to our printing lab PICTAGE. However, you can now purchase the DVD of all edited images that includes the printing rights. We still highly encourage you to purchase your prints through our lab, because we believe in the quality of the prints they believe in the quality of the prints they produce, but that is not required.

These disks are custom designed just for you and will be given to you after the session.

But, before we work together, we want to take a quick second to tell you a little bit about who we are and why we decided to start Catherine Alexander Photography.

We are Patrick and Melissa Beard, and two years ago after watching my (Patrick) mom get sick and pass away from cancer, we realized that life is short, you are not guaranteed tomorrow, and that if you have a dream then you need to chase after it with everything that you have. After getting over the shock that my mother was gone, I shared with Melissa my dream, which is to bless others with moments captured in time. My dream is Catherine Alexander Photography. A business that combines both mine and Melissa’s middle names to form the business name.

Catherine Alexander Photography is a dream that continues to evolve, and we hope that it will include you in the near future!
