The park is a haven for wildlife. Mule deer and elk are plentiful in the park. Other residents include black-tailed prairie dogs, coyotes, foxes and red-tailed hawks. Though you may not see them, black bears, bobcats and mountain lions also live in the park. There are over 100 species of birds, including wild turkeys, peregrine falcons, golden eagles, American kestrels and many migrating birds.
