TUESDAY, JUNE 12 Regulatory Affairs Committee (RAC) - 7:30 AM The Regulatory Affairs Committee monitors State and National legislation, governmental rulemakings and industry-related organizations decisions that can impact AAMA members, and their customers and suppliers.

Key issues of interest at the national level include proposed LRRP ex-pansion to commercial buildings, the revised ENERGY STAR® window and door performance criteria program requirements, USGBC LEED 2012 developments, future of the mandated national formaldehyde standard and updates on the Dept. of Commerce anti-dumping investigation on photovoltaic cells from China. Members will also be alerted to any new legislative attempts to introduce bills offering commercial and/or residen-tial credits for energy efficient fenestration product purchases or use.

Environmental Marketing: FTC Guidance Question & Answer Session 11:00 AM The FTC monitors the environmental marketing claims of many consumer products. Additionally, the Green Guidelines are under revision and more stringent provisions are expected for manufacturers and sellers.

An overview of current FTC marketing guidance and updates ex-pected to be included within the pending “Green Guides” will be pre-sented during this one-hour Q&A session conducted by Paul Gary (The Gary Law Group) and Joan Long (Barnes & Thornburg). Lunch and Scholarship Award Presentation - 12:00 NOON – 1:15 PM Please join us for the AAMA Scholarship Award Presentation recognizing the bright young students who have been selected as recipients for the 2012/2013 school year. The AAMA Scholarship Program was developed to encourage growth within our industry by providing financial aid to students who are pursuing an engineering or technical degree in the building products industry.

This brief presentation also announces the winners of the AAMA Scholarship Partner Program awards. Current Scholarship Partners in-clude Mikron Industries (a division of Quanex), Graham Architectural Products and Milgard Manufacturing. These member companies are di-rectly contributing to the education of their employees’ children by offer-ing their own scholarship programs while utilizing AAMA’s administra-tive resources and third-party winner selection team.

Show your support for these potential future industry leaders by at-tending and learn how your company can save time and money on its own scholarship program.

NFRC 713 Independent Verification Program (IVP) - 1:15 PM With the pilot program underway and implementation scheduled for January 2013, the NFRC IVP program represents a dramatic new feature in the landscape of the fenestration industry. Paul Gary and John Nolan of The Gary Law Group will review the challenges of the process, reper-cussions of failure and the potential for wide-ranging unintended conse-quences. What positive can be derived from a “pass” and what fallout looms for a “failure?”

With the assistance of manufacturers and re-sellers, ENERGY STAR has grown to dominate the fenestration market. EPA/DOE are flexing those muscles with the mandate for fenestration IVP.

Does IVP represent “busy work” or a paradigm shift? Will the EN-ERGY STAR club become more exclusive? Can air/water/structural be far behind?

Join us for an energetic discussion.

The entire agenda book file will also be accessible via the Sum-mer conference page on the AAMA Web site. Agenda files both on the AAMA Web site, as well as the flash drives will be sorted by council and then alphabetically to most easily locate particular agen-das. This will allow attendees the opportunity to review meeting agendas and other meeting materials in advance, rather than wait-ing until arrival at the conference.

Reducing the amount of printed materials used at AAMA events

is a part of efforts to become more environmentally friendly in our practices as an association. In providing a flash drive and small con-ference packet in lieu of a full printed agenda book, the amount of paper used will be decreased, and the electronic files on the flash drive can also be kept for future use.
