In 1941 Past Grand Master Harry S Truman had a vision and that vision was to one day see a Missouri Lodge of Research Library. It happened in September some 61 years later. I am sure that even Harry Truman could not have envisioned that his Grand Son Clifton Truman Daniel would have been there as our speaker, that usually happens in novels. For those of us that were there you were a part of History. . For many years there were many meetings, plans and projects that had to be completed, but it all came together and happened. We have many great plans for the Missouri Lodge of Research and Library. As we speak our Past Grand Master John Hess is recording each book onto our computer system. We have 10,000 books and 1,000 have been registered. When we finish that project we will have 10,000 more donated to us from The Grand lodge of Iowa. If you have time on the third Saturday of each month, come out to Columbia and help us with the enormous task of bring books up from the basement to be registered. You will be carrying history. Even now as we go through each book we are finding so much history such as hand written notes and letters by President Truman. At the present time the Library will be open on the third Saturday of each MISSOURI Lodge of Research OFFICERS Worshipful Master - Nicholas R. Ciechielo Senior Warden - Steven L. Worshipful Masters Message

I am deeply honored to have been elected Worshipful Master of the Missouri Lodge of Research, and what a time in our history to have that happen. In 1941 Past Grand Master Harry S Truman had a vision and that vision was to one day see a Missouri Lodge of Research Library. It happened in September some 61 years later. R U L E S F O R P L A Y:

You must circle the names of DDGMs (in BOLD LETTERS ONLY), LETTER BY LETTER, in the puzzle above, then line through or check the name off the list. DO NOT black or blot out the letters in the puzzle as some of the same letters are still used in another name. The name, or part of a name, within the parens (--) above WILL NOT be found in the puzzle. Only the part of a name in BOLD will be found in the puzzle. When you have found ALL of the above names in the puzzle, you should have several letters NOT circled. Writing down each of these letters from the top left to the bottom right, will sequentially spell out the name of the DDGM whose name will be the answer. Who is it? A look at the www.momason.org Grand Lodge webpage, click “LISTS”, then go to District Deputy Grand Masters, it will list them all, and you should find the complete name and district of your answer. Who is he? Call a member friend who may have worked this puzzle and see if you got the same answer they did. I will include the answer in the next issue.

That is the title of a new brochure published by the MASONIC INFORMATION CENTER, aimed at both Masons and non-Masons. I describes many key historical trends that were either initiated or advanced by Masonry. These include individualism, Democracy, Human Rights, the Rights of Workers, the Arts and Architecture, Public Education, Health, and Personal Development and Fulfillment. “What Has Masonry Done for the World?” is an excellent pamphlet to build pride and respect for the Fraternity in the heart of any Mason, regardless of the length of their time in the Craft. It also is perfect for reading by families and friends of Masons, or for handing to non-Masons who may show an interest in Masonry. It is great for giving to visitors at open houses, fairs, and other public events. “What Has Masonry Done for the World?” was written by noted Masonic author James Tresner of Oklahoma. MIC gives thanks to the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma for permitting adaptation and printing of its previous pamphlet. The brochure is sold only in lots of 50*. @ .27ea = $13.50 100 @ .25 = $25.00 500 @ .23 = $115.00* Cost is plus postage. Contact MIC at 301 588-4010 or www.msana.com Email: [email protected]
