Nous sommes particulièrement "ers de notre programmation : elle o!re des productions pancanadiennes exceptionnelles, des histoires contemporaines écrites par des auteurs réputés. La Troupe du Jour o!re aux enfants, adolescents et adultes une école de théâtre en français. Vos enfants et vous y apprendrez les bases de la production théâtrale, ce qui se passe sur scène et même en coulisses ! L’école de théâtre o!re un cadre unique et plaisant où les participants ont la chance de développer leurs talents en compagnie d’artistes professionnels tout en se faisant des amis. Les étudiants participeront à la production d’un spectacle de "n d’année destiné aux familles et aux amis qui se tiendra au Studio 914. Et tout ça, en français, s’il-vous-plait !

Produced by the !éâtre la Seizième,Vancouver Sarah is about to graduate from high school in a town that is just a bit too quiet. While life motors along in other places, her own town is so still that she #gures it wouldn’t even be missed if a meteorite fell from the sky and obliterated it. Sarah has to decide what part she can possibly play in a community that is just so... dull. La Troupe du Jour is proud to host a new work for the theatre by Fransaskois Gilles Poulin-Denis, a nominee for the 2010 Governor General’s Literary Award. Statu Quo was read to enthusiastic audiences at Montreal’s Festival du Jamais Lu and Ottawa’s Zones !éâtrales.

En août dernier, nous avons vu notre chère Madeleine Blais-Dahlem s’envoler pour la Conférence internationale des auteures dramatiques à Stockholm, ou elle représentait le Canada. Pas moins de 113 auteures dont sept canadiennes y présentaient leur œuvre. Sa pièce, La Maculée, avait déjà remporté les honneurs des SATAwards, récompensant chaque année le meilleur texte dramatique.La Catalogne aura aussi droit à un aperçu de la culture fransaskoise cette année. En e"et, dans le cadre du deuxième volet d’échange entre dramaturges catalans et canadiens, la compagnie Tant per Tant, qui partage nos locaux, a choisi de produire Rearview, la pièce du talentueux Gilles Poulin-Denis. Le texte sera traduit en catalan et joué par des comédiens locaux pour le public de Barcelone.

!is August, we bid our very own Madeleine Blais-Dahlem bon voyage as she $ew to Stockholm, Sweden to represent francophone Canada at the Women Playwrights International Conference. Madeleine joined seven other Canadians and 106 writers from around the world to present her play, La Maculée, to an international audience—it’s the same play that won a SATAward for Outstanding Playwriting.

Catalonia will also get a dose of Fransaskois culture this fall! For the second half of an exchange program between Canadian and Catalan playwrights, our sister company, Tant per Tant, has selected the accomplished playwright Gilles Poulin-Denis to showcase his celebrated play, Rearview, in Catalonia. Translated by Tant per Tant into Catalan, the play will be performed by artists in Barcelona.

La Troupe du Jour is brimming with pride over the achievements of our artists and contributors, and we want to boast!

We have received local and national awards for our contributions to arts and culture, our support for emerging artists, outstanding new playwriting, and excellence in production, sound design, and production design. One of our playwrights was nominated for a Governor General’s Award, and our new Production Centre was recognized as one of 13 buildings inspiring best practices for cultural development in Canadian municipalities.

Le projet Les mots d’ados, mené avec le soutien du Conseil des écoles fransaskoises, a permis à plus de 200 élèves de recevoir une formation en création littéraire. Ces élèves ont pu participer à un concours qui leur a permis de voir publier leur œuvre dans le journal l’Eau vive, et lu en public lors du Festival découvertes et au festival Troupe Troupes !éâtre. Tous ont pu découvrir, grâce aux mots d’ados, le plaisir d’écrire et la con#ance dans leur créativité. Cette expérience sera reconduite pour la saison 2012-2013 avec assurément autant de succès!

La Troupe du Jour a un programme dramaturgique visant à accompagner les auteurs dans l’écriture de leurs pièces. Ainsi, au #l des ans, nous avons pu mettre en scène huit nouvelles pièces.

Cette année quatre auteurs poursuivront l’écriture de leur texte : Marie-Claire Marcotte, Ian C. Nelson, David Granger et Dave Turcotte.Ce programme existe grâce aux généreux dons permettant aux auteurs de développer sur plusieurs années un texte.
