• The source of data used in this report is the Gemius web analytics service: gemiusTraffic. It is the number 1 site-centric research in CEE and Denmark, and a popular tool in the Middle East as well as in Israel.
• The data is gathered by scripts embedded in the web sites using gemiusTraffic. Web pages monitored by Gemius act as internet ‘receptors’ collecting data which, after it is aggregated, becomes the basis for gemiusRanking results.

engines almost in all CEE countries - only Russia and Belarus where Yandex is the market leader constitute an
exception to this CEE rule

In Russia and Belarus the most popular among all search engines is a local player -Yandex.
In these countries,
Google comes second with just 35% share in
the generated page views.

Nokia – the winner of 2010 - looses its share
on the market, experiencing a decrease
by about 20pp of generated mobile page
views within 2011
As more advanced smartphones appear on
the market, more people use regular
browsers instead of the mobile ones
Samsung has successfully entered the mobile
internet market, with 3 of its products in the top 6
most popular mobile devices models
Symbian is on its way out: the not-so-long-
ago most popular operating system for
mobile devices is now being replaced by iOS on the market leader
position
