Request for QuotationStatus of building at 9 December 2011 during construction
1 Introduction
This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is for the final fit of the upper two floors of a new
building at the Bunns Lane Works industrial estate located at Bunns Lane, Mill Hill, London
NW7 2AJ. Note the fit of the Ground floor is underway and is not part of this RFQ.
The site and new building are owned by the Tichborne Family Trust.
The Building is in the final phase of general construction and the occupier of the top 2 floor
floors will be a new Company (Mill Hill Space Co Ltd) associated with the provision of
Work-Space hire for the purposes of Arts recreation and training. To supplement this activity
there will be a number of offices and some storage capability.

Construct the building interior according to the attached plans (TBD) with the
following inspection points:
1. The Supplier shall construct the Mezzanine and Lift structure and shall have the finishedpart inspected and approved by the building inspector*

2. The Supplier shall construct the upper two floors to plans and shall have the finished partinspected and approved by the building inspector*

3. The Supplier shall Install Harlequin Floor to the main double height area and to theTeaching space area.
4. The Supplier shall complete the internal fitting of all services: Air conditioning units and connection to electrics, and heat/cool distribution ducting
as needed for internal rooms
Toilets/washrooms with hot and cold water (to plans reference TBD).
Electricity supply: Two separate ring main feeds to consumer units and separatemeters (located in store room on ground floor),
Electricity supply: two separate main feeds for the Heating/Air Conditioning. Electricity supply: two separate main feeds for floor 1 & 2 main/lighting and a third
single phase for the upper two floors safety lighting.
Electricity supply: separate feed to Lift. (to floor 2 consumer unit) Light fittings. All lighting to low energy type and to be movement and ambient light
sensitive (except safety lights) for power saving. In the offices lighting consistent
with a modern office environment. In the store rooms a single ceiling mounted light
fitting.
Floor 1 Reception-front weatherproof sign lighting outlet. Data service ducting and outlets (Telephone, Ethernet & Security including CCTV)
Two telephone points on the first floor reception and one telephone point in each
office. Ethernet points (including ducting and wiring) are required as per Table 1.
Security wiring ducting to all external windows and all external and internal doors as
well as to movement sensors in ceilings (2 per floor). Security CCTV wiring to 2
points on each floor and 4 external building wall locations terminating in ground floor
office. (The telephone, security and Ethernet ducting can be common where they
converge)
Security System (Specification to be provided). Supply and fit Fire Alarm, sensors and sprinkler system to floors 1 &2 in compliance
with BS5839;Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (As Amended 1999).5. The Supplier shall complete the internal finishing of the Building to a Colour scheme to
be agreed with the Tichborne Family Trust prior to commencement of that activity.
6. The Supplier shall issue an Electrical Certificate of Conformance to BS7671:2008 17thEdition. (or later if appropriate)
7. The Supplier shall arrange a final inspection and approval by the building inspector* Note2.8. The Supplier shall clean up the site and remove all rubbish, plant and construction
equipment prior to handover to the Client.
Note 1: In the RFQ response the Supplier shall provide all specific requirements itemised and
costed separately.
Note 2: Building Inspection will be by Barnet Borough Council or private nominee Inspectoras appropriate.

Conditions of Contract:
1. The Supplier shall provide a proposal as follows: Itemised fixed price estimate, including any proposed stage payments with any
caveats or exemptions/suggestions to be detailed. Itemised guaranteed timescale from start to completion, with any caveats or
exemptions to be detailed.
Detail of any constraints or conditions to be met by the Tichborne Family Trust. Detail of any risks to either cost or schedule.
2. The Supplier shall provide their standard Contract Conditions which will then benegotiated and agreed between parties prior to start.
3. The Supplier shall visit the site to take note of any special issues, which thenceforth shallnot be accepted by the Client as not known once work commences.
4. Any modifications caused by the Client following work commencement shall benegotiated on a pro-rata basis and will be deemed as extra to this contract, and paid for by
the Client by mutual agreement.5. Any modifications undertaken by the Supplier without the Clients consent shall not be
invoiced to the Client, and may be reversed by the Supplier at the Clients discretion.
6. The Supplier shall have their own indemnity Insurance against any loss or damage,caused by the Supplier or his associates, to the Clients property.
Response to RFQ:
1. In order to be considered for this contract, the Supplier shall respond to this RFQ no later
than 22nd
March 2012 with a validity of 2 months. Any variation to this shall be requested
prior to the deadline, and if granted that deadline may be extended to other bidders, all at the
discretion of the Tichborne Family Trust trustees.
Contract Award timeframe:1. Contract award is anticipated to be within 1 month of receipt of satisfactory Quotation.
2. Work is anticipated to be commenced immediately on contract award.
