Transcript of 2011 Winter Concert
Vocalist, songwriter, pianist, cantor and ethnomusicologist
Richard Kaplan will make a rare Fort Collins visit to offer a
concert featuring music from the world’s spiritual traditions,
including Jewish songs from Spain, Morocco, Turkey, the
Middle East, Europe and Inner Asia, as well as Sufi and
Mongolian chant, African-American Gospel melodies, and his
own Jazz fusions of traditional World Music gems.
Performing nationally and internationally for over thirty years,
his three CDs The Hidden One, Life of the Worlds, and Tuning
the Soul have received enthusiastic acclaim, and his music has
even been used to open an episode of ‘House MD’!
Hear a preview of Richard’s music on www.kaplanmusic.com.
"Kaplan's high baritone majestically soars, quavers with sensitivity,
and rings out with joy."
Tad Hendrickson, World Music Reviewer, Amazon.com
"A fine artist, I couldn't believe it - the versatility, the different
styles, the different languages, the different instruments, the
enormous talent - but most impressive was the soul.”
Naomi Newman, Traveling Jewish Theatre, SF
