Work for policy and advocacy change in rural energy and especially for promotion of good stoves, continue research and development of Good Stoves and dissemination of knowledge and experience. Awareness, sensitization, Capacity development to communities, micro-enterprises development (production and distribution) with community groups, share the experience in seminars, conferences, workshops, groups and networks, and partner with organizations or agencies. GEO will continue research and development of Good Stoves. GEO can offer capacity development programs on stoves design, production and distribution enterprises on demand. All the 40 good stove designs are declared as Open Knowledge, anyone can use these designs to achieve their goals. As knowledge partners, we can support in sharing our experiences. Project overview GEO's mission is to facilitate one million good stoves http://goodstove.com , in partnership with Community, Support Organizations, Scientists and funding agencies. GEO is also into research and development of Good Stoves, so far has designed 40 good stoves including TLUDs, which are declared as Open Knowledge http://okgeo.org . GEO shares its knowledge and experience on good stove technologies through websites created, provides online support and conducts capacity development programs. Every day on an average 500 + people from different parts of the world are accessing the knowledge created by GEO on good stoves. Every week at least 10 people seek online support on Good Stoves technologies, some of them in turn are adding their knowledge and skills in improving the Good Stove designs. GEO is implementing GOOD STOVES AND BIOCHAR COMMUNITIES [GSBC] Project with the support of GoodPlanet.org, France in parts of Andhra Pradesh, India. With the goal of facilitating 50000 stoves locally. GEO is imparting capacity development, doing research and creating awareness through the research center in Andhra Pradesh. Has established GOOD STOVES production and distribution enterprises. Apart from stoves working on Biochar application processes and Charcoal production technologies and facilitating to communities. Photo Photo GEO is contributing to the following areas RURAL ENERGY, GOOD STOVES, BIOCHAR, ENVIRONMENT, CLIMATE CHANGE (Mitigation and Adaptation), SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE, WATER, DISASTER MITIGATION AND ICTs. Main Goal is to facilitate “One Million” Good Stoves to communities through partnerships. And also to Innovate, Facilitate and Implement practical Science based next solutions that help achieve Equilibrium between Human and Natural Systems, promote Earth System Governance and Sustainable Development for the betterment of Communities and towards realizing its objects. GEO focuses on Community Capacity Development and Leadership. Results GEO is working in partnership with a network of organizations covering about 50 thousand families on Good Stoves for facilitation and dissemination in parts of India. GEO could facilitate more than 2000 Magh 3G Good Stoves as enterprise just in 6 months. The potential is ever growing beyond the GSBC project goal from 10000 stoves to 50000 stoves, which is easily achievable in next 1.5 years, reaching 250000 population. It is helping communities in different parts of the world through sharing designs, technology, knowledge and experience. Awareness on good stoves is created to the people in rural areas on the availability of efficient technologies for cooking through field level demonstration of the stoves. Creating community Leaders through awareness and sensitization are encouraged to facilitate Good Stoves, having achieved results are declared as “Earth Leaders”. Participating in the meetings conducted by the Government to share ideas on Good Stoves need and facilitation through various existing government programs. The charcoal from the Magh series woodgas stoves and other biomass is being used for improving the fertility of the soils although on a minor scale, but has multiple benefits including carbon sequestration http://biocharindia.com Has done capacity development to 100 NGOs, Institutions, Govt., agencies, etc in parts of India and Abroad.
