This year, the Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 89th annual Mardi Gras Celebration. This event draws over 25,000 people from all over our region to our small town for a time of fun and entertainment. The event begins with the crowning of the Mardi Gras Queen on October 15th. October 28th features a childrens costume parade and a business trick or treat. October 29th will bring a craft fair/flea market, car show, entertainment, a huge 50/50 drawing and concludes with Illinois oldest nighttime parade. Last year's 50/50 raffle received $10,540! On behalf of the Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce, I would like to personally thank all our sponsors. The collective support of the Chamber makes this event not only a great attraction to our community but a staple of what people look forward to. We sincerely appreciate the time put forth by our volunteers and the gracious donations by our sponsors. Without your support Mardi Gras would not be as successful as it is today! I wish everyone a very happy and safe Halloween and hope everyone enjoys this years 89th annual Mardi Gras Celebration!

    Sincerely,

    Nathan MeagherPresident

Canaloplasty is a proven procedure that safely lowers your intraocular pressure and dependence on medication. In fact, studies show that the average drop in pressure is nearly

40%, with most patients no longer needing medication.1 And unlike traditional procedures,

Canaloplasty is minimally invasive and has fewer complications and less follow-up. Feel the

relief of less pressure and medication.

    2010 Car Show Memories

Above Left: The 1969 Chevrolet police car was restored to the way it would have originally been in the state of Illinois. This car was originally retired from the state on June 4, 1974. Above: Right: PCHS students enjoy looking into the 2006 Ford Mustang V6 named White Pony. The owners of this car take pride in all the work they have done to make this spectacular, showy car. The poem above is an excerpt from the plaque that was posted next to the car.

    The White Pony:

"I once was a lonely pony grazing in one of those used lots where the only object was to get rid of me for profit and to be

    another fresher horse for gain.

One day a man went by and turned around and came back and then later that day he

came back again. I was excited because I felts his love for me.

The next day a lady came by and purchased me and I was excited to be

bought but sad because it wasn't the man from the day before. The lady left and I was confused. I was taken from the field and moved to be groomed and to have a

beautiful red ribbon placed on my top.

As they pulled me out, there stood the women and the man from the day before, what a delight! From that day my life has changed from your stock 2006 V6 pony

to a true vision of what we hope Mustang fans will enjoy viewing...
