$93,000 is the average yearly income for an established, full-time USANA Associate. $24,500 is the annual average of those who earned as little as one commission check each month. Total includes all earnings from the Compensation Plan, Leadership Bonus, Matching Bonus, contests, and incentives. Calculations based on earnings for fiscal year 2009. Figures should not be considered as guarantees or projections of actual earnings, which result only from consistent, successful sales efforts. To be considered in a rank’s earnings, Associates must have earned checks at a median rank for at least 20 weeks. According to results from an in-house survey taken between 2004 and 2006, the primary reason 17% of USANA independent business owners join the company is to improve their financial future. 21% of that group earns a check at least once a month. Of those whose primary reason is to earn enough to replace a full-time income, 90% have been Associates for at least one year and 57% are full-time Gold Directors and above. The number of Gold Directors and above who have maxed at least 1 Business Center during the year equals less than 1% of all Associates. Those earning as little as one check a month equal approximately 3% of all Associates. If you include all 165,710 with the title of Associate, which includes Associates not actively building a business (acting as wholesale buyers), Associates who just joined, (as little as one day), and those who are just beginning to build their customer base, the average yearly income is still $616.71 with nearly one in three earning a check. To date, USANA has more than 140 Associates who are lifetime Million Dollar Club members.

Lynn Allen-Johnson spent her years laboring in a myriad of jobs to maintain an adequate living for herself and her family. She designed jewelry, sold insurance and tires,

and owned a restaurant before settling into interior design. Lynn provided ideas for marble and granite layouts to architects and builders in Winter Park, Fla. Money was her top priority in her early professional life, but Lynn was also seeking something more. “For as long as I can remember I was searching for what I was sup-posed to be doing,” she says.

Lynn’s daughter introduced her to USANA in 1997 at a time when Lynn was looking for a way to maintain her health. She came home from work one day and found a package of USANA products from Oregon with a note from her concerned daughter encouraging Lynn to try them. “They were on my porch when I came home from work—one little box that turned my world upside down,” Lynn says.

It took Lynn only three days to see a change in her body. She soon became a distributor so she could buy the product at wholesale. Lynn loved it, but she had no intention of delving into the business. Still, the natural thing for Lynn, who describes herself as a caretaker, was to share her experience. For four-and-a-half years she continued to use the product, share it with friends and eventually became more involved in the business. Working with doctors who used the products with their patients allowed her to see them change lives. This affected her so much that she began sharing USANA more freely. “Every time I helped bless someone with the products they blessed me back,” she says. “This company was inside of me, and I couldn’t get rid of it even if I wanted to.” Health wasn’t the only thing that shifted in Lynn. She had always wanted to help others and make a visible difference in their lives. It became clear to her that an opportunity was at hand.

Taking Her ChanceInitially, Lynn had reservations about

joining the business full time. She was sold on the product, but she didn’t understand

network marketing and didn’t believe she could build a successful business, so she played it safe by staying part time. Things changed in 2002, when Lynn met with a financial advisor who helped educate her about the nature of the business. Once she understood the opportunity before her, she decided to get her distributor kit out of the closet where she’d left it four years earlier. “I was playing really small with this because of my own issues with the industry,” she says. “I was getting in my own way and not doing what I knew I was put here to do. I have found a true purpose through this business.”

Finding her purpose propelled Lynn forward and drew out her tenacity, which proved useful in facing new challenges. Lynn struggled with believing in herself, an issue she knows isn’t only hers. She had to learn to accept someone rejecting the business opportunity as only that, rather than take it personally. Along with feeling like she didn’t deserve to be successful, the rejections caused her to look inward and work toward being the person she wanted to be so she could reach her fi nancial goals. Lynn admits inward change was her most diffi cult challenge. She recently published a book with advice for
