As Mayor of the City of Kyle, let me be the first to welcome you to our com-

munity. Whether you are visiting friends and family, traveling on business, or have recently made Kyle your new home, I hope you will find your time here enjoyable and fruitful.

In the last ten years, Kyle has grown from a small Texas hamlet of 5,000 to a bustling town of nearly 30,000 people. Our new size has spurred numerous com-mercial opportunities and new amenities for our residents and visitors. Enjoy the

roar of stock car engines at Thunderhill Raceway, savor a gourmet meal at Bordeaux’s Restaurant, or spend an afternoon outdoors at Gregg-Clarke Park. Kyle offers some-thing for the whole family.

Visitors and residents alike can also enjoy a host of annual events our city has become fa-

mous for, including the Kyle Fair & Music Festival, Easter Egg-Stravaganza, Fourth of July Fireworks Show, Movies in the Park, Fajita Fiesta, Halloween Carnival and Santa’s Arrival & Tree Lighting Ceremony.

These events are great opportunities to get to know your neighbors and have fun with the whole family.

From our Historic Downtown to recent modern commercial developments along Interstate 35, we are proud of our com-munity’s heritage and achievements and its potential for future growth. Our greatest asset, however, continues to be the quality of people that call Kyle, Texas home.

Thank you for taking a few moments to learn about us. I hope to see you in town soon!

Sincerely,Lucy Johnson, Mayor

Interstate 35 in the heart of Central Texas, just a short drive south of our state capital of Austin. We are home to the scenic Blanco River, historical sites, a great array of public parks and green space, American Speed As-sociation Thunderhill Raceway, live music/meeting venues, Plum Creek Golf Course, great restaurants, great schools, an expanding medical hub and a short 10 minute drive to the largest shopping outlet center in Texas.

The City of Kyle was founded in 1880 and incorporated in 1928 as a general-law city with a mayor and five city council members. In the ear-ly 1940s, Kyle was recognized as the only town in Texas with an all woman government. Our city is the childhood home of Katherine Anne Porter, Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist, essayist, short story writer, novelist, and political

activist. Known for her penetrating insight, her works deal with dark themes such as betrayal, death and the origin of human evil. Some of Ms. Porter’s more notable novels are “Ship of Fools” and “Pale Rider.” She also won a National Book Award for “The Collected Stories of Katherine Anne Porter.”

Other famous citizens are Ambassador Edwin J. Kyle, for whom Kyle Field at Texas A&M University is named, John Wheeler Bunton, Battle of San Jacinto hero, Rhodes Scholar Terrell Sledge, professional pitcher C. C. “Tex” Hughson, historian Milton Nance and author Lena Hamilton Kirkland.

Kyle is on the Old Camino Real and Hill Country trails and is home to many histori-cal sites including the Claiborne Kyle Log House, Kyle Auction Oak, M. G. Michaelis Ranch, Old Kyle City Hall and many more. The Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce and

Visitors Bureau is housed in the historic train depot at the front porch of our beautiful Old Town Historical District.

Consolidated Independent School District

Located in North Central Hays County, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District serves over 221 square miles. The district’s 22 campuses are

located throughout the Kyle and Buda communities, drawing nearly 15,500 students.

Two 4-year high schools, five middle schools (grades 6-8), 13 elementary schools, an alternative high school of choice and a disciplinary campus comprise the district’s campuses, which have tripled in number since 2000.

The district features a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center; a dual-language magnet program at two elementary campuses; a science/technology/engineering/math (STEM) magnet program at two elementary schools and music, art, library, and PE included in the weekly rotation at the elementary level.

Award-winning music, theater and athletic programs and a “Project Lead the Way” designation are student offerings at Lehman High School and Hays High School as part of a rigorous general curriculum. Lehman High School, which opened in 2004, features a culinary program and a Navy JROTC program. Hays High School, which celebrated its 40th year in 2007, features a competitive marching band and music program and a Marine JROTC program.

Two new elementary schools opened in 2010 to accommodate the district’s rapid enrollment growth. In fact, enrollment has increased annually for more than 10 years, with significant growth occurring the past five years.

Beginning in September 2009, the district initiated a comprehensive, five-year strategic planning process that began with two “Ideas Summits,” which drew nearly 200 members of the district community to share their ideas for the future.

Over the next eight months, more than 100 teachers, parents, administrators and community members worked on Action Teams to craft a vision for the future of the district. Approved by the Hays CISD Board of Trustees in April 2010, the strategic plan is the road map to which all district decisions and activities are tied.

Claiborne Kyle Log HouseLocation: County Road 136 (Old Stagecoach Road)Mississippi Senator, Claiborne Kyle and his wife, Lucy Kyle’s home, built in 1850

How did a Mississippi Senator end up in Texas? It’s a tale of embezzlement and betrayal by an old friend. When Mississippi State Treasurer, Robert Graves, disappeared after being accused of embezzlement, Clai-borne Kyle was left as the co-signer on Graves’ bond. The forfeit on the bond proved to be financially disas-trous, and it left Kyle no choice but to sell off all of his property and flee Mississippi for a new life in Texas.

What remains today is the log house. Built by slave labor, it is made up of cedar logs, square notched at the corners. Between the logs, alternating grout of rock and caliche was applied. Aesthetically, the Clai-borne Kyle Log House is square-barbell shaped with two matching double room sections separated by a 10 by 6-foot dogtrot. This layout is extremely rare, and in fact, this “linear four-pen dog trot” is the only one of its kind left in Texas. It is highlighted in the Terry Jordan book “Texas Log Buildings: A Folk Architecture.”

Kyle Family Pioneer CemeteryLocation: County Road 136 (Old Stagecoach Road)Oldest community cemetery in Hays County

Thought to be Hays County’s oldest all-inclusive com-munity cemetery still in use, the Kyle Cemetery is located on Old Stagecoach Road just outside of Kyle. While there are a couple of family cemeteries in the county established earlier, the Kyle Cemetery is the oldest community cemetery and remains available to anyone who wishes to purchase a burial spot.

Kyle Cemetery was established after two burials had been conducted on the grounds, and Colonel Claiborne Kyle do-nated fifteen acres of land for a “community burial ground.” One of the burials had been his “adopted” son, Willie Parks, who died in 1849. The other burial was conducted prior to Parks’ and is that of an unidentified man whom Colonel Kyle’s ranch hands found hanging from a very large oak tree on the grounds. The tree is now referred to as “The Hanging Tree.”

The Kyle Cemetery holds the remains of some of the earli-est Hays County settlers, including:

Major Edward Burleson – Veteran of the Mexican War and probably one of the most prominent men in the history of this area, and Fergus Kyle – Colonel Claiborne Kyle’s son and the person for whom the town of Kyle was named.

Where it all began...

Kyle Family Pioneer Cemetery (Slave Cemetery)Location: County Road 136 (Old Stagecoach Road)African-American cemetery adjacent/part of the Kyle Cemetery

This old African-American cemetery, adjacent to Kyle Cemetery, had an official name change in December 2007. Referred to for decades as the “Slave Cemetery” by the few locals who were even aware of it, the site, in fact, has no surviving tombstones indicating slavery-era deaths, though the slave-holding Claiborne Kyle family lived nearby starting in about 1849, suggesting there may have been slave burials here.

When Hays County Historical Com-mission members first searched the site in 1989 on a county-wide inscription project, they found 16 tombstones, “most of which were turned over, broken, or nearly cov-ered with debris.” They noted that death dates on several stones were early enough for their subjects to have once been in slavery (the earliest date is an 1873 death of 12-year-old William Davis), but the ma-jority of survivng stones are of later origin.

Skyview CemeteryLocation: County Road 136 (Old Stagecoach Road) Cemetery marking the burial of the area’s older African-American citizens

A large and well-kept cemetery covering about four acres located just north of the Kyle Cemetery, the Skyview Cemetery is the final resting place for many of Kyle’s African-Ameri-can citizens.

Within the cemetery, there are over 170 marked graves with stones, funeral home mark-ers, or wooden crosses. Uninscribed limestone rocks and bricks mark some graves. Addi-tionally, there are several sunken areas indicating burials.

The oldest marked grave is that of Mary Kirby, 1895, followed by Hattie Washington and Annie Hamilton, 1899. It is likely that burials occured between these dates, but the graves are not marked.

San Vicente CemeteryLocation: County Road 136 (Old Stagecoach Road)Cemetery marking the burial of the area’s Hispanic citizens

The San Vicente Cemetery has over 220 graves with inscriptions as well as many unmarked graves and graves with uninscribed markers. It is located on Old Stagecoach Road just south of the intersection of County Roads 136, 225, and Center Street.

The land for the San Vicente Cemetery was donated in the early 1900s by Vicente Gonzales to insure that early Hispanic citizens of Kyle would have a proper burial.

An initiative was set forth by Blas Mendez to establish this cemetery, and it was also at his urging that it be named after the man who donated the land. Until Gonzales donated the land, most Hispanics were buried on the property owned by the ranchers who employed them. There are untold numbers of unmarked burial plots all over Hays County.

Katherine Anne Porter HouseLocation: 508 Center StreetThe childhood home of one of the most celebrated short story writers

One of America’s most distinguished writers, Katherine Anne Porter, lived in this house on Center Street from 1892-1901.

Porter was born on May 15, 1890 in Indian Creek, Texas. When she was two years old, her mother, Mary Alice Jones Porter, passed away. Her father, Harrison Boone Porter, moved the family to Kyle to live with his mother, Catherine Ann Skaggs Porter. Katherine lived in Kyle until 1901, when her grandmother passed away.

In 1906, at the age of sixteen, she married John Henry Koontz. The marriage ended soon after. She left Texas in 1915, moving to Chicago to start a career as a journalist and writer. Her first short story “María Concepcíon” was published in 1922. Her first book of short stories “Flower-ing Judas and Other Stories” was published in 1930. Her 1962 novel “Ship of Fools,” made her a millionaire. She won a Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for “The Collect-ed Stories of Katherine Anne Porter” in 1965. In all, she published five major collections of short stories in her lifetime.

Porter returned to Texas to visit her former homes in her later years and, in accordance with her request, upon her death in 1980, her ashes were interred next to her mother’s grave in the Indian Creek Cemetery.

The Katherine Anne Porter House was designated as a National Literary Landmark on June 13, 2002 by the Friends of Libraries USA and the Library of Congress. First Lady Laura Bush was on hand at the dedication.

Blanco ChapelLocation: Private ranch west of town. Not open to the public. The Blanco Chapel served as a church and school until the 1880s

In 1865, Major Ezekiel Edward Nance built a masonry structure of native limestone with walls 18 inches thick to serve both as a school and church. Nance was the owner of a cotton gin, gristmill and meatpacking plant, which provided coarse cotton and meat to the Confederacy.

Inside of the building (now restored and owned by Emmett McCoy), carved in rock over the opening of the fireplace, is a star and the word “Wisdom.”

Into the exterior wall on the front of the building a small cross of limestone was placed. Beneath the cross is a squared stone bearing the inscription BLANCO CHAPEL ERECTED 1865 BY EZEKIEL NANCE.

The Blanco Chapel was designated as a recorded Texas Historical Landmark in 1965.

Old D.A. Young BuildingLocation: 108 S. BurlesonFirst permanent store in Kyle

The building is named after its builder, David Alexander Young. When the International and Great Northern Railway came into Kyle, Young and his wife, Fannie Elizabeth, moved here from Mountain City and ran a general merchandise business at this location in 1880. It was the first permanent structure in Kyle.

The original location of this business was within the Mountain City com-munity, near where Jack C. Hays High School now stands.

In 1936, this building was given to the Kyle Volunteer Fire Department by rancher M. G. Michaelis. It has also been the home of the Texas Game Warden Association and the Kyle Police Department.

Kyle Auction OakLocation: 204 S. SledgeWhere business lots and most of Kyle’s residential lots were sold at auction

Between 1870 and 1880, the International and Great Northern Rail-road planned to construct a line between Austin and San Antonio. When the planners found that no towns lay on the route between San Marcos and Austin, they decided to establish a station town along the route. Sev-eral offers of land in northern Hays County were received, but the offer by the families of Captain Fergus Kyle and D. R. Moore was accepted.

All of the land, except a depot site and track right-of-way, was then deeded to the Texas Land Company for development as a town. In less than a week, the town was surveyed and a plat recorded with the county clerk. Streets and alleys were added and the town was officially designat-ed as Kyle, Texas, in honor of one of the men who donated the land.

Captain Kyle was a native of Mississippi and had served as a cap-tain with Terry’s Rangers in the Civil War. In the shade of this mammoth live oak, all of the business lots and most of Kyle’s residen-tial lots were sold at auction. As an added induce-ment, the railroad offered free train rides to participants in the sale. The land on which this historic tree stands was donated by the railroad in June 1881 for the construction of the town’s first school, Kyle Seminary.

Bunton Branch Bridge Location: County Road 210 at Bunton BranchOldest Concrete Bridge in Hays County

The Bunton Branch Bridge was constructed in 1915 under a federal aid program to improve rural delivery of mail on the Austin-San Antonio Road. The small concrete arch bridge has the distinction of being the oldest con-crete bridge in Hays County, and one of only a few surviv-ing bridges left on the old Austin-San Antonio Post Road.

The bridge is composed of a single, reinforced concrete arch span, resting on concrete abutments founded on natural stone. Plainly detailed, the arch has an elliptical shape with a line of coping running across the top of the parapet railing.

The Austin-San Antonio Post Road became the first federally funded highway in the state, serving as a model for highway construction programs and the establish-ment of the Texas State Highway Commission in 1917. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

(Old) Kyle City HallLocation: 109 Burleson Rd.Original City Hall built in 1912

The construction of Kyle City Hall represented a sig-nificant achievement for the small rural town and reflected the optimism of its citizens that the town would continue to grow and prosper in the early 20th century.

Bolstered by a booming cotton economy at the turn of the century, Kyle’s progressive citizens looked forward to the town’s cultural development by providing a venue for social and civic events, including plays and lectures.

The building’s size, scale and fashionable design expressed the community’s ambitions for the future. The commission of an architect to design the building, a rare occurrence in rural commu-nities, emphasized Kyle’s commitment to the undertaking.

Although the cotton industry failed to sustain the community’s hopes for economic growth in the decades following the building’s construction, Kyle City Hall continued in its designated role as the town’s social and civic focal point.

The block (known as City Square Park) was identified specifically as a public square in the original 1880 town plat. The site hosted traveling shows, musicals and chautauquas (scholarly lectures). Parades passed around the public square before and after the city hall was built.

In addition to civic and governmental duties, the hall has served a variety of community pur-poses and, until 1937, doubled as the high school auditorium. When the Baptist church burned in 1940, its congregation was granted use of the hall for Sunday services. Later, when the Methodist church needed a sanctuary, the two churches held services in the City Hall on a rotating basis. It now serves the city as a senior center and a community meeting place. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Lex Word and the Bon TonLocation: 100 W. Center Street (destroyed by fire in 2002)Commercial and social heart of the community

Wallace Alexander “Lex” Word was born in Kyle to William Alexander and Mamie (Sledge) Word, but tragically his father died two months before Lex was born.

After graduating from Kyle High School in 1913 as the only male in a class of six, Lex worked in his uncle’s bank in Mathis. He later attended Texas A&M and served in World War I, managing stores in Grayburg and Huntsville upon his return to Texas.

In 1926, the Bon Ton, a general store and grocery was opened by Word and partners Alex Kercheville and Jack Sledge. For decades, the Bon Ton was a community gathering place. Initially located in the historic Masonic Build-ing, it soon moved to the location at 100 W. Center Street. At that time Word bought out his partners. In 1929, Lex married Taylor native Louise Bobby Gossett, who came to Kyle to teach school.

He expanded the store during the Great De-pression, adding a feed store and hatchery at a time when many downtown businesses closed. In 1934, there was a fatal fire, killing Cal “Big Boy” Clark, and the store was rebuilt.

The Word family served as community lead-ers, active in the First Baptist Church. When Kyle State Bank closed in 1932, Lex helped re-organize the town’s only depository as Citizens

State Bank. He also opened an adjacent imple-ment store and helped restart the cooperative cotton gin in the 1930s. In the 1950s, Lex and Bobby donated space in the back of the Bon Ton for a reading room that was the town’s first library.

Although fire destroyed the Center Street building in 2002, the Bon Ton, still operating under the original name but no longer owned by the Word family, is now located on Highway 21.

The new Kyle City Hall was built on the Cen-ter Street Bon Ton site in 2006.

Katherine Anne Porter may have been born in Texas, but she left as quickly as she could.

Like many freethinkers, her relationship with her hometown of Kyle was a strained one, and Porter fled for more exciting climes – Chicago, Greenwich Village, Mexico in the revolution years, Paris.

“I didn’t want to be regarded as a freak,” Porter once said of her time in Texas. “That’s what they all thought about women who wanted to write. So I had to revolt and rebel; there was no other way.”

While Porter escaped Kyle, Kyle refuses to forget its golden daughter. The childhood home of the Pulitzer-prize winning author was lovingly restored, dubbed “The Katherine Anne Porter House,” and is home to a writer in residence selected through the Texas State University Master of Fine Arts Program.

The Porter family’s Hays County roots stretch back to the 1860s, when the family bought 360 acres in the now-defunct community of Mountain Hall, east of current-day Buda.

Originally named Callie Russell Porter, the author was born in 1890 in the rural outpost of Indian Creek, west of Waco. Porter’s mother died in 1892, leaving five young children in the care of their father. The family soon moved to the fledgling railroad town of Kyle, where Callie’s grand-mother, Catherine Porter, had built a two-room house on the dusty Center Street. They would remain there until the death of “Grandma Cat” in 1901.

“Katherine Anne Porter sought an ideal, imaginary home all her life,” wrote Tom Grimes, who led the move-ment to preserve the Porter home. “The town of Kyle from 1892 to 1901 was mostly dust and sun and winter grayness, with some cattle grazing, some cotton growing in the loamy soil east of the railway tracks, and the trains

coming through. The dirt road off the house’s front porch trailed west toward hill country, which was to remain impoverished and without electricity well into the twentieth century.”

Though she was described as dominant and puritanical, Grandma Cat was a rousing storyteller who helped shaped her granddaughter’s narrative skills. After her grand-mother’s death, the family then moved to San Antonio, and by the age of 16 Porter became the bride of a railroad clerk, the first of her four marriages. This one would end

“In many ways, the stories that come from Kyle are love stories. They capture the elements of any true love: beauty and ugliness; hope and resignation; sorrow and joy… This porch may seem disappointing when compared to her written memories of it, but what matters more than these surroundings is the im-mortal spirit of the little girl who grew up here.”

Mary Lucy Kyle Hartson, early woman mayor, was born on December 6, 1865, at Kyle, Texas, the daughter of Anna Elizabeth (Moore) and

Fergus Kyle, for whom the town was named. She was the granddaughter of Lucy (Bugg) and Claiborne Kyle, who settled with their eight children near the Blanco River in 1850. Both her grandfather and father served in the Texas legislature. Her brother Edwin Jackson Kyle was president of the athletic association at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (later Texas A&M University) and later ambassador to Guatemala. Mary attended school at Blanco Chapel and the Kyle Seminary. In 1888 she graduated from Sam Houston Normal Institute at Huntsville and began a teaching career in Taylor, Texas. While visiting in Dallas in 1891 she met George Dorr Hartson, a young electrical engineer from New York, who moved to Texas to supervise

the construction of the Electrical Street Car System. On November 21, 1891, Mary and George were married

in Kyle. They made their home in Dallas, later in Laredo, and in 1898 George Hartson accepted the position of electrical supervisor with the Avino Mining Company, thirty miles from Durango,

Mexico. On February 4, 1901, Hartson was killed in an accident during an inspection tour of the upper mines,

leaving Mary a young widow with two children and another born three months after his burial in Kyle, Texas. In the spring of 1901 Mary Kyle Hartson was appointed postmis-tress of Kyle, and although a staunch Democrat she served through five administrations until August 1925.

As a seventy-two-year-old great-grandmother she was elected mayor of Kyle by a write-in vote in 1937. A picture of Mayor Hartson appeared in the May 10, 1937, Life magazine, where she was written up as the only woman mayor in Texas at the time. From 1937 until 1941 and from 1944 until 1946 Mary Hartson was mayor, and along with the “all woman” city council elected in 1944 made Ripley’s Believe It or Not. During her term of office as mayor, the town built a mu-nicipal water system, installed street lights, updated the fire department, and kept the city clean. Of her administration Mrs. Hartson said, “We balanced the budget, and cleaned up the town. Then when everything was under control, I retired.” After retiring at age eighty-one, she went to Wichita Falls to live with her daughter. She continued to be active in the Woman’s Forum in Wichita Falls, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a Methodist. She died on March 20, 1956, and was buried in the Kyle Cemetery.

(from The New Handbook of Texas, Vol. 3, 1996)

in divorce nine years later with allegations of physical abuse. As part of the divorce decree, Callie changed her name to Katherine Anne Porter, honoring her grandmother even as she reinvented herself.

“I do not deny Texas, any more than I deny that husband there, what’s his name?” Porter wrote to a colleague. “They just slip my mind. For me, there are few pleasant or produc-tive associations with that part of the world, and many disappointments.”

After her first divorce, Porter tried her hand at journalism in Fort Worth and Denver, where she nearly died in the influenza epidemic. At the age of 30, a magazine job took her to Mexico in the thick of the revolution, giving her experiences that would be the basis for her first short stories.

Though ashamed in many ways of her humble upbringing, as Porter developed into a successful author she turned to her experiences growing up in Central Texas as the basis for some of her best works, including “Noon Wine,” “Old Mortality,” and “The Grave.”

In her literary imagination, the two-room house packed with children became a graceful southern manse with “long galleries, shuttered in green lattice…covered with honeysuckle and roses,” with porches adding “two delightful rooms to the house, the front a dining room, the back furnished with swings and chairs for conversation and repose, iced tea, lime-ade…sangria – and always, tall frosted beakers of mint julep, for the gentlemen, of course.”

After a two-decade long estrangement from her father, they attempted to reconcile, meeting at the house in Kyle. She wrote of the experience, “My father and I visited the dreary little place at Kyle, empty, full of dust, even smaller than I

remembered it.”Through her middle years, Porter flitted between New

York City and Mexico, spending time in Connecticut before moving to Paris for a number of years, marrying and divorcing three more husbands and taking teaching jobs in universities.

Flighty, gypsy-like, talented and capricious, Porter des-perately craved recognition. After more than three decades of

work, she finally completed her novel “Ship of Fools” in 1962, earning mostly rave reviews; three years later, her collected short stories won the Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award and Gold Medal for Fiction awarded by the National Institute of Arts and Letters.

She died in Maryland in 1980 at the age of 90, and was buried in Texas next to her mother.

The home of Porter’s childhood years fell into disrepair, until a group of local citizens and faculty members of Texas State University pushed for its purchase and renovation, with the help of the local Burdine Johnson Foundation.

Following the extensive and historically accu-rate restoration, First Lady Laura Bush dedicated the Katherine Anne Porter House in 2000.

“In many ways, the stories that come from Kyle are love stories,” Bush said. “They capture the elements of any true love: beauty and ugliness; hope and resignation; sorrow and joy…This porch may seem disappointing when compared to her writ-ten memories of it, but what matters more than these surround-ings is the immortal spirit of the little girl who grew up here.”

The property is now home to the current writer in resi-dence chosen from the Texas State University Master of Fine Arts program. The Visiting Writers series has brought authors such as Annie Proulx, Roddy Doyle and Tim O’Brien.

The house received designation as a National Literary Landmark in 2002, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Have a toss in KyleSteeplechase Park, prime for disc golfers

The City of Kyle and Steeplechase Park has an incredible 18 hole, double tee-box, disc golf course.

John Houck, a two-time world cham-pion, personally designed the course. Plum Creek criss-crosses the course and will challenge any level of player. The

tee boxes are constructed with pervious concrete. There will be an ametuer and a

professional tee boxes for each hole, which have two basket sleeves to keep the grounds in good shape.

The first rounds were played in 2006 and weekly mini’s are played Wednesday afternoons.

There is also a “Driving Range” with

pervious concrete surface to help warm you up and practice your game. Distances range between 100* feet to 400* feet to test your distance and accuracy. (*measured from front-center point of concrete surface)

Also, this course offers two “practice holes” to work on your short game and put-ting skills. Stategically placed, each practice basket has three rings around them at dis-tances of 15 feet, 25 feet and 40 feet.

You won’t find another disc golf course anywhere that provides the challenges, design, construction and amenities as Steeplechase.

Come out and practice, play and enjoy the course.

Complex Care. Simple Choice.Hays County is growing, and Seton Medical Center Hays, a member of the

Seton Family of Hospitals, is also growing to meet the needs of the community.

Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle is the largest hospital in the county, offering a
