St. Paul (USA) based, RAVE was founded in September of 1996 by a team of entrepreneurs led by Norm Mears and launched in March of 1997. The Benefits that an Aqua Fun Park Operation can Provide to the Resort An Aqua Fun Park operation can provide a unique Guest facility which can be owned and operated by the Resort. On most occasions the facility would be operated and managed by the in-house Water Activities Team. Alternatively, the Aqua Fun Park could be owned by the Resort, but managed by a Third Party. An Aqua Fun Park consists of commercially graded inflatable play equipment that are designed to be used in fresh or salt water and can be left in place on a semi permanent basis or set and packed down each day. Guests are looking for Resorts that offer a large range or unique range of activities that they can enjoy during their stay and activities that are designed for the entire family to enjoy. The Aqua Fun Park operation can also be attractive to the conference market for team building and other related activities. An Aqua Fun Park operation can provide your Resort with a unique activity which will provide you with a marketing edge in this ever competitive market.

Provide the Aqua Fun Park facility at no charge for all Guests

Provide the Aqua Fun Park facility to all Guests at a low charge and include in holiday package

Provide Guests with one free voucher to use Aqua Fun Park facility and then charge Guests for use after that

Kids Club at no cost or cost per child

Provide Aqua Fun Park Operation to persons outside the Resort and charge entry fee

Selecting the Ideal Location to Operate the Aqua Fun Park Beach / Saltwater Location Ideally, the best location for an Aqua Fun Park operation is close to the following;

Access to clean water including salt or fresh water locations

Access to water away from rocks and any other dangerous landscape that could impact the safety of

Customers and your Aqua Fun Park products

Can be subject to tidal change

Can be set up where small waves are experienced

Water depth between 0.5-1.8 metres deep

The following photographs show examples of suitable beach / salt water locations;

Charter Vessel / Remote Location

An Aqua Fun Park can be easily set up from any charter vessel where the products can be inflated and set up around the same. The selection of products would depend on the type of customers that are onboard. A simple Aqua Fun Park consisting of a Springless Water Park linked to a 20 foot Fun Deck would be ideal. Further products like the H20 Party Island are well suited to Adult charters where customers are snorkeling, swimming or having a few refreshments.

The Charter Boat could set up the Aqua Fun Park in most water areas offshore or may select an area located inside a broadwater, river or lake where access could be gained to a sand island or spit at low tide. The customers can come ashore and gain access to the Aqua Fun Park from the sand.

Mobile Operation In addition to a permanent land or boat operation, you could relocate an Aqua Fun Park operation to a temporary site to cater for special events where additional business could be experienced throughout the year.

Setting up Designated Water Area We have access to an Australian Company called UES (Uninet Enclosure Systems) who specialise in the supply and maintaining of water enclosures that come in different sizes and equipment configurations depending on the beach profile, tidal range and weather conditions.

A complete service, including site investigation, installation, training and service, is supplied. The Company will set up the system with no up-front capital and where they will be responsible for all maintenance and service issues through the contract period. An annual contract fee is calculated for each site. The nets are designed to protect against stingers, sharks, stingrays as well as providing a safe environment for all recreational users.

Staffing the Aqua Fun Park Activity Like any successful operation, you need to have the right people operating the day to day basics and they will influence the experience that your customers will have. In turn, they will influence the success of the facility. It is our recommendation that you could have the following staffing numbers; 1 x Staff member located on beach / park side (Management Level) Should Possess: Senior First Aid Certicate (Minimal) Bronze Medallion - Life Saving Duties include: Initial set up and pack down

Meet and greet customers Provides information on pricing and user policy Provides information on customer details and waiver form Manages cash takings Manages customer time limits Manages customer life jackets

Purchase of Safety Equipment We highly recommend that you purchase safety equipment which can be used in the event of any emergency that may occur. The recommended equipment would include;

The Compulsory Use of Life Jackets We highly recommend that all guests no matter what age or whether they can swim or not are required to wear at least PFD 3 classed life jacket at all times. The wearing of life jackets for all Guests will reduce your liability exposure (reduce your Insurance premium) and help keep your Guests safe. You can purchase life jackets starting from $30.00 for the basic foam filled jackets which are very uncomfortable for your customers to wear or purchase jackets that have been designed for long term commercial use where pricing is in the vicinty of $100.00. Foam Filled Commercial Design The other advatange of having your Guests wear life jackets is that each jacket is marked with a large number on the back using a permanent marker. This enables you to record the Guest‟s name against the life jacket number for the when they are signing on and off. It also enables you to warn those Guests that are not abiding by the rules where you can gain their attention by quoting the life jacket number. Refer to page 97 for more information

Temporary Sales Area If you are operating from a land or beach position, you will need the following items;

Cash box and mobile Eftpos machine

Temporary hanging area for life jackets if located away from trailer / vehicles

Following is a picture showing one of our floating offices which had been approved by authorities as it was classed as a temporary / not permanent structure. You could easily make the mobile office to include a timber deck only and have an outdoor setting on the top with an umbrella. This way you could set up and pack away the office each day.

Maximum Wind Speed & Water Depth for Product use We recommend that the Aqua Fun Park products are not used when winds exceeding 25 knots are being experienced. Each Aqua Fun Park product will require different water depths for safe use. On average, at least 3 foot is required for the Lunar Range, Aqua Volley and at least 6 foot is required for the larger products. Refer to the recommendations as outlined on the pages for each product.

Best Way to Manage New Customers This will all depend on the size of the Aqua Fun Park and number of customers that you are experiencing. In some cases you could allow customers to use the Aqua Fun Park at anytime or where you could operate on session times for busy days. We recommend that every customer completes a sign on form where their name, address, age and contact details are recorded and where they sign the same. The form will also include some information that the customers are taking part at their own risk.

Dealing with Local Authorities You will need to contact your local Council, Department of Land & Environment and Water Authority before you can commence operating the Aquaprk business.

It is our experinece so far in Australia that the local Councils, Department of Land & Environment and State Water Authority will encourage and endorse the Aqua Fun Park business model. However, you need to speak with the right people in the first instance. Find out who is in charge of the beach or parkland where you intend to operate the business and arrange a face to face meeting with them so that you can discuss the matter first hand. The same will apply for the State Water Authority as you willl need to apply for a hire and drive licence. Our other recommendation is for you to contact and see your Local State and Federal Government Members and obtain their support for the Aqua Fun Park business.

Further support could be obtained from local area Tourism Body, local Business Chamber of Commerce, surrounding business operators such as shops and food outlets, local Surf Clubs and Sporting Clubs. The more support that you have from the above identities, the better chance you will have in having your Aqua Fun Park business approved. Finally, contact your local newspaper and media outlets advising of your Aqua Fun Park business where they may provide free editorials or advertsing and help obtain local support.

For land based operations, all you need to operate the business is access to the water and an area of approximately 3.0 metres x 3.0 metres, an area big enough so that you can use a portable shade shelter, tables and chairs. This will be governed by the Local Council or Body responsible for the Land. The actual Aqua Fun Park will be located in the water and in most instances, this will be governed by either Local Council or State Water Authority.

Anchoring

Ocean, Lake, River & Beach Anchoring Many of the inflatable water sports products available from H20, RAVE and AVIVA recommend the use of an anchoring system for the highest level of safety. But which type of anchor is right for your products? There are many ways to anchor your inflatable products. Before moving forward, however, it is to best consult your local regulations regarding what types of anchors can be used in your area. Every location has different conditions and demands, so you will have to determine what will work best for your situation. Here are a few anchoring systems to get you started!

Sand plough Anchor Wombat Screw Anchor Concrete Blocks for day to day use for semi permanent / season use for more permanent use In some areas, the local Council of State Water Authority may allow for you to use a semi permanent mooring systems which remain in position for the period that the Aqua Fun Park business is operating. (eg. Wombat / Concrete blocks). This will in turn save time when you are setting up the Aqua Fun Park each day. The Water Wombat We have recently been involved with a new product that is Australian designed and manufactured called the Water Wombat. It is a re-usable lightweight shallow ground anchor, manufactured using galvanised steel and a composite material helix. As the Water Wombat is wound into the ground the helix pitch continually expands clamping into the ground giving it greater strength in shallow grounds. How it Works As the composite helix is wound into the ground the helix "pitch" begins to expand. As it expands the pitch angle of soil entry and exit increases. This process forces additional soil through and around the vortex. As more soil is forced through the greater the pitch of the helical blades. The helix is manufactured from one of the world most resilient materials. This resilience tries to resist the increase in helical pitch angle.

This action effectively compresses anything that passes through it. Due to soil mechanics it is so effective that it actually displaces compressed material to around the entire anchor. This action cannot be achieved by using steel helix‟s. That‟s why Water Wombat has such incredible holding power even a depths of 600mm in sand. That‟s why Water Wombat is the world‟s strongest shallow ground anchor. How to Install the Water Wombat Anchor

A detachable T-Bar comes with each Wombat kit and simply screws the anchor into the ground and back out when you have finished with it. For semi permanent use in deeper water, a diver can install the Wombat system with ease.

Inflation, Set Up & Deflation of Products We have several pumps that are recommended for the inflation and deflation of the Aqua Fun Park product range. The type of pumps that you choose will depend on your location and the power supply that is available. 12 Volt Pumps The first is the H20 12 Volt Turbo pump which requires 12 volt power supply to operate. This pump will operate directly from any motor vehicle or from a portable power source.

110, 220 & 240 Volt Pumps Our preferred system is the use of 110, 220 & 240 volt pumps where inflation and deflation time is very efficient. You can use the pumps with 240 volt power supply from mains, boat supply or by petrol generator.

Storage & Transport We would recommend that the Aqua Fun Activity is operated from an onsite shipping container or shed or operate from a large trailer or pantec truck. The correct storage and transport of the Aqua Fun Park products will protect your investment along with maintaining their service life. On top of this, the better the system, the easier it will be to set up the pack down the Aqua Fun Park each day. A basic set up could be stored and transported in a ute or small trailer. For anything larger, we recommend the use of a large trailer. The pictures of the following trailer had been custom made for the specific purpose of operating an Aqua Fun Park business. Servicing & Maintenance of the Aqua Fun Park Products For salt water applications, we recommend that all products are washed down with fresh water at the end of each day if you have access to a water supply. If not, at least each month the goods should be washed with fresh water. Once again, the better the products are serviced, they longer their service life will be.

Salt-Away Corrosion Control We recommend the regular use of this product which will help prolong the service life of each product that is used in salt water. You can use on all products including metal and PVC surfaces. The product is 100% non toxic, 100% Biodegradable & 100% non hazardous. Shark Shield is a unique shark deterrent system utilising a technologically advanced three dimensional electrical wave form. Shark Shield technology is available for recreational users and water sports professionals to help all people enjoy the water with a new dimension – peace of mind; for themselves, their families and employees.

Shark Shield was invented by the South African Government through the Natal Shark Board, home to some of the sharkiest waters in the world. It is used by the Australian Elite Military, the South African Navy the US Coast Guard and is also approved by NATO.

Shark Shield's can be used when participating in any ocean activities including surfing, bodyboarding, longboarding, snorkelling, scuba diving, free diving, spear fishing, commercial diving, kayaking, ocean swimming and boating or fishing.

Shark Shield's provide protection against all predatory shark species including Great Whites, Tigers, Zambezis (Bulls), Makos, Bronze Whalers, among others.

Our shark repellent products repel the sharks via an electric field that induces spasms in the sharks‟ snouts. It does not attract sharks to the area or leave permanent damage to the animals, or harm the environment. Our products are proven to prevent shark attacks.

Technology

The electrical wave-form used in the Shark Shield is based on a technology invented by the Natal Shark Board of South Africa.

Predatory sharks have small gel filled sacs knows as „Ampullae of Lorenzini‟ on their snouts. They use these short range sensors when feeding or searching for food.

Shark Shield is a three-dimensional electrical wave form which creates an unpleasant sensation impacting the shark‟s „Ampullae of Lorenzini‟. When the shark comes into proximity of the electrical wave form (around 8 meters in diameter) it experiences non-damaging but uncontrollable muscular spasms causing it to flee the area.

The field is projected from the unit by two electrodes, which create an elliptical field that surrounds the user. Both electrodes must be immersed in the water for the field to be created. The electrode configuration depends on the model of the Shark Shield unit.

From testing, the closer the shark is to the Shark Shield field, the more spasms occur in the sharks‟ snouts. This becomes intolerable and the shark then veers away, and usually doesn‟t return.

A distinct advantage of the unique electrical wave-form is that it deters sharks and does no lasting harm to the shark. Once the shark is out of the affected area, it no longer feels the effect of the electrical wave form.

The original technology was released onto the market in 1995 by POD Holdings Ltd, a joint venture company partly owned by the Natal Sharks Board and the South African Government. In addition to being tested by National Military and other authorities, Shark Shield has been extensively tested to the highest standards by scientists and marine biologists over many years.

The Shark Shield FREEDOM7 is fitted to the ankle region with the supplied neoprene and Velcro pouch.

The unit incorporates a velcro pouch, that is attached to the ankle region and 2.2m flexible mesh antenna. Once the antenna is submerged in salt water the electrodes emit the protective field.

The FREEDOM7 antenna has been designed to cause minimum of water resistance and drag on the user.
