TECHNOLOGIES USED:

Zigbee :

ZIGBEE is a new wireless technology guided by the IEEE 802.15.4 Personal Area Networks standard. The specification operates in the 2.4GHz (ISM) radio band - the same band as 802.11b standard, Bluetooth, microwaves and some other devices. It is capable of connecting 255 devices per network.

Global Positioning System (GPS) technology is used to find the location of any object or a vehicle to monitor continuously using satellite signals. Three satellite signals are necessary to locate the receiver in 3D space and fourth satellite is used for time accuracy.gps will give the information of parameters like longitude latitude and altitude. With the help of these parameters one can easily locate the position of any object. In this GPS technology, the communication takes place between GPS transceiver and GPS satellite.

DISCRIPTION :

In our project we design a system which gives the information like the station name and the distance between train and the station before it arrives in the station. In this unit we have three sections, two station sections and a train module. In the station modules we have GPS module and Zigbee transceiver. Using GPS latitude and longitude values, we will calculate the location of the station and give the information to the controller. This information from the controller is transmitted by Zigbee transmitter to the nearby train that is arriving the station and the name of the station is displaced on the LED panel in the train. This happens in every station. The Zigbee receiver in the train module receives the information about the station and displays the name of the nearby station and distance in the LCD and LED panel. In this way we will be able to know what would be the next station and the distance of the train to station.

ADVANTAGE:

The people travelling in the train will not be alert at all the time and sometimes there will be huge crowd that they can’t identify the location and station. So from this project people can know the name of the coming station and distance from the previous station .
