Complexity in projects – request for help I am looking for enthusiastic people who want to help me founding a new Community of Practice within PMI. It will take on average 2 hours of your time per week for the coming 6-9 months. Big public projects in the world are staffed with competent people equipped with the best tools available and often these projects become nightmares. One of the reasons could be that these projects involve so many tasks, people, stakeholders, rules that they become too complex. And in complex projects current management techniques may not be sufficient. I have taken the initiative to set up a new Community of Practice (former SIGs) within PMI on the topic of Complexity in projects. A CoP is a virtual community on a specific topic. More info on www.pmi.org The setup requires the following activities:

1. Finding out whether there is no overlap with existing CoPs

2. Receiving a charter by putting together a 5 year business plan

3. Forming a Board

4. Forming a steering committee

I sincerely belief that Complexity in projects is a topic that will change project management in a dramatic way. To sort out what, why and how we need to pull brains together on a global scale. Please let me know if you are interested to go with me on this journey.
