Fayetteville Technical Community College is a comprehensive community college with an ‘Open Door’ admissions policy serving the educational needs of approximately 10,000 students in curriculum programs, and more than 25,000 in continuing education. As the third largest Community College in the 58 North Carolina Community College System, FTCC offers a quality, affordable education through 122 degree, diploma and certificate programs.
Celebrating 48 years of phenomenal growth, FTCC remains true to its workforce development mission to meet the vocational, technical and adult education needs of citizens in Fayetteville, Cumberland County and surrounding counties. To meet the needs of citizens in northern Cumberland County, FTCC opened the state-of-the-art Spring Lake Campus in Fall 2004. This modern instructional facility offers 34 classrooms and laboratories, including a Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Nursing and computing laboratory, a conference room, a North Carolina Information Highway classroom, fitness center, and the 102-seat Wellons Auditorium. Quality academic support services are available for one-stop registration and include an admissions and records office, bookstore, business office, and a well-qualified staff to meet the counseling, advisement, and testing needs of over 3,400 Spring Lake Campus students.
The oldest off-campus site, established in 1973, is located on Fort Bragg Military Installation in the Soldier Development Center. The FTCC Fort Bragg Center serves a population of 45,000 military personnel and their dependent family members along with DOD civilians and contractors. A well-qualified staff is located at the Fort Bragg Center and provides military friendly educational and registration services. Classes are offered in the evenings at three convenient Fort Bragg locations – Albritton Jr. High School, Irwin Middle School and the Soldier Development Center. Both the FTCC Fort Bragg Center and the Spring Lake Campus serve the Pope AFB constituency of active duty airmen, their families, and civilian employees and retirees who reside in and around the area.
Along with FTCC’s partnerships with the military and public school system, FTCC maintains numerous articulation agreements with the University of North Carolina universities and selected public and private colleges in North Carolina. These agreements ensure the successful transfer of FTCC students into baccalaureate degree programs.
Also available at the Spring Lake and Fort Bragg locations is a Continuing Education program to prepare adults for better job opportunities, promotion in present employment, civic and community leadership, and family living. Programs are offered in Basic Skills Education (ABE, AHS, GED, HRD, ESL) Industry Services, Emergency and Protective Services and Business Services.
Fayetteville Technical Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of Fayetteville Technical Community College. The Commission is to be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution’s significant non-compliance with a requirement or standard.

What is the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA)all about?
A statewide program designed to allow students that complete a 44-semester credit hour general education core of courses, to transfer across the NC Community College System (and) to transfer coursework to all the UNC institutions (satisfying all the UNC System’s general education requirements). Furthermore, the CAA enables NC Community College Graduates of either the Associate of Arts and/or the Associate of Science degree programs, who are admitted to a constituent UNC institution after community college graduation, to transfer into the UNC System in a “Junior Status”. Please contact one of the FTCC Counselors for more information on this program. Note: Students should verify with the four-year institution that they plan to transfer credits into, exactly which courses will or will not be accepted by that institution, as each institution may have varied guidelines.
