Pilates: EssentialsPilates is known for its low-impact movements, lengthening of muscles and stress-busting breathing techniques. If you have never taken Pilates but want to see what the buzz is about, instructor Cathy Nail will help you develop abdominal strength, decrease lower back stress and improve overall flexibility. Don’t forget to bring your exercise mat.Note: Class will include use of a Pilates ball.

Pilates: IntermediateCathy Nail will teach you how to tone, strengthen and lengthen your entire body using Pilates techniques. The mat movements you will learn in class can transform your physical appearance, making muscles go from shortened and stunted to long, strong and lean. Darlene Bink will introduce you to the asanas (postures) and proper body alignment in a way that is fun and intuitive for beginners. Gain an understanding of releasing and grounding as you build flexibility in your spine and practice breathing techniques. Wear comfortable, non-restricting exercise clothes and bring a yoga mat, yoga strap, a small blanket to keep warm and a bottle of water. No previous yoga experience necessary.

T’ai Chi for Health and WellnessFeel healthier and more energetic with the ancient art of T’ai Chi, led by Lynn Norris. College Readiness: Adult Re-entry; Learning to LearnCSU’s College Readiness Program is designed for individuals who have been out of school for five years or more. The program promises to calm your fears and make returning to school so much easier. The study skills refresher course is designed to review and update the reading, writing, and math skills that are necessary for completion of a college degree program. It also includes a brief orientation to CSU. Adults who successfully complete this course will receive one semester hour of degree credit upon enrollment at CSU. Take the first step! Photoshop is an indispensible tool for contemporary photographers, and people are our most important subjects. This

BALLET

The CSU Dance Conservatory at the Rankin Arts Center works in partnership with the Columbus Ballet to offer classes for ages 3-adult. This program runs August through May. However, students are able to enroll from January through May.

Second semester classes begin January 2 and run through May 17, 2010. There will be no classes on MLK Holiday (January 18) or during MSCD Spring Break, (April 3-11).

Tuition may be paid in monthly installments. Monthly tuition is payable on the first of every month, beginning in January, and is late after the 15th. Only past due accounts will be billed and a $25 late fee will apply.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS Continuing Education is self-supportingand all costs are covered through student registration fees. PERMANENT RECORDS The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a na-tionally recognized measurement of noncredit course work. We keep a permanent record of participation in selected pro-grams, issue a certificate to acknowledge successful completion of theprogram, and provide official transcripts to you or your employer. All re-quests for transcripts must be in writing.
