    Win A Fishing Trip Contest

We appreciate everyone who entered our Win A Fishing Trip Contest!

Jeff and Toni Jones of HowellMichigan won the trip andbrought up a couple of friendsKevin & Christy Lindsey. Itwas nice to see the look ontheir faces when they got offthe float plane onto the dockat Mosher Lake.

We all had a good chuckle when we had called Jeff and Toni at hometo tell them that they had won the trip.

When we first contacted Toni, she thought we were trying to sell

    them vacation property.

After a few minutes she realized it wasnt a scam and we startedthe process of getting them on their way fishing. They are agreat bunch of people and it was our pleasure to meet them. Wehope to see them up north again soon.

    Upgrade Report 2010.

Due to the low water conditionsat Bemar Lake we were not ableto get the new dock in. With all

the snow we are getting wesuspect the water levels will behigh enough this spring. Thedock will be our first priority!

If Johnson comes out with the9.9 etech Outboard Motor byspring, we will replace some ofour motors.

We have plans to put a new roofon the cabin at Grew Lake tokeep with the high standards thatguests expect at our outposts.

Piche Lake will get a newfloating dock which will makeit almost perfect.

We plan on improving thewalkways at Wapikaimaski.

Gridiron Lake just needs alittle yard work to keep it upto Kashabowie Outpostsstandards.

All the camp screens will bechecked and replaced asnecessary.

    Fishing 10

Fishing this year was great with a lot ofsmiling faces. Mosher Lake seemed to

have a good run of big Walleye. Ronand Nancy Mandernach found a greatspot for walleye and were pulling out 4and 5 pound fish one after another.

The Epley family hada great time fishingup at LoganberryLake and made thefirst ever remote flyin fishing Rap videowhich can be viewedon our website!

Mountairy Lake has always produced unbelievable fishing with all

the groups doing very well on quantity and size. Mountairys fishinghas been so productive that we are changing it from a catch andconsume lake to a regular fishing lake. This will allow our guests tobring out a limit of fish as per the current fishing regulations.

Grew Lake was a nice surprisethis past summer for a workcrew that flew in for someregular maintenance and ofcourse a little fishing. The crew

found it difficult to catch enoughfish under the 18 size limit foran evening fish fry. We plan onusing Grew a little more thiscoming season and we think thepeople that have already bookedare going to get a pleasantsurprise when they drop theirfirst line into the water!

Gridiron Lake was typical - with fantastic fishing reported by all.

Bemar Lake produced great Bassand Walleye fishing but some of ournew groups had a hard time findingthe fish due to the low waterconditions. The repeat groups thathave been going in for years

adjusted their techniques and got onthe fish right away.

We were pleasantly surprised to seesome of our anglers using fly rods tofish for Walleye, Northern and Bass. They were fairly successful and flyfishing is something Brian hasalways wanted to try.

    Fall Hunt 2010

    Archery Moose Hunt

The Archery season was a great success with one of our drive-in

hunters taking the first Bull. Gary Redmon took a beautiful 50 bull withguide Larry Ogden, aka 'The Moose Whisperer'.

Fern took an unbelievable 59 Bull on the 25th of September. TheMosher gang nailed down that area by taking a nice Bull and gettingsome amazing trail-cam footage of a monster Bull still lurking aroundthat lake. I think they will be back next year to see if they can find him.

The Ross Lake crew had a great hunt guided by Paul Duquette. There

was lots of action and they got up close and personal with a couple ofMoose but were not able to get a good shot.

Bill and Scott from theArchers Choice Posse were up for the gunhunt. Fern took them to Mosher and called in two Bulls. Bill wasshooting that day and Scott took some amazing footage of the Bullcoming out of the bush down at the end of the bay.

The Bull Moose charged across the bay on a mission toward Fern'scall. The Bull knew exactly where to go and stopped to thrash theground and as he walked he grunted all the way in. Brian said, It senta shiver down my spine and an excitement that I hadn't felt hunting in

years. - and he only watched the video!

With nerves of steel, Bill was able to take a great shot and Scott wasable to take some of the best Moose hunting footage we think wehave ever seen!

Remote Ontario Fly In Moose Hunt at Mosher Lake

Brian had the pleasure of going up to Mosher with Fern and the gangto do a little hunting himself. He became popular with the guysbecause he was the proud owner of a 12 B Bull tag and they werewithout.

Brian thought he could give Scott the opportunity to take his first BullMoose. The Gang went out the next morning and things seemed to be

right, it was cool, about 30 F with frost on everything... but the Moosedidn't cooperate.

We hope to see Scott and Bill up next year so Bill can get some greatfootage of Scott taking his first Moose.

    Mountairy Lake Moose Hunt

Our Mountairy gang never cease to amaze us with their great spiritand personality. The Thomas Group from near Kingston Ontario, hasbeen coming up hunting with Kashabowie Outposts since the early1980s and have always done well.

They were able to get a nice bull and calf their first couple of days inthe bush, then enjoyed the rest of the week relaxing and spending thetime away with the guys.

They are the last group in Mountairy and always do a great jobclosing up the camp for us Thanks guys we really appreciate it.
