Violence is not new but usually has been labeled as criminal act.Last quarter of the 20th century saw a rise in incidents at workplaces.Initially most of those were kidnapped managers.

1997-2007 saw 7,000 occupational homicides nationwide.
Most were robberies, but~1,000 involved work associates.
