The Pine Log profile The Pine Log is the official newspaper of the students of Stephen F. Austin State University. It is published each Monday and Thursday during the fall and spring except during University holidays and final exams. College newspapers like The Pine Log are considered by students to be their most personal, honest and credible news source. Not only is The Pine Log the most effective medium to reach the SFA college target market, it is also the most efficient. There is no wasted circulation and no need for costly duplication.

university profile Stephen F. Austin State University is located in Nacogdoches, Texas, a town of about 30,000. The University averages 11,500 students in each regular semester and 4,500 students each summer term. In addition there are about 1,300 faculty and staff members. The University provides housing for approximately 42 percent of SFA’s students, both married and single. Other students live off-campus in private housing or commute from other communities in the East Texas area.

circulation information The Pine Log’s circulation is 7,000 during the Fall Semester and 6,500 during the Spring Semester. The paper reaches more than 12,000 students and 1,300 faculty and staff members. The Pine Log is distributed on campus free of charge. The newspaper can be accessed online at: www.thepinelog.com

All advertising representatives for The Pine Log are trained in desktop publishing software and are able to design and produce your ad free of charge. The advertising representative assigned to you is responsible for bringing the ad to you for approval before it is scheduled to run.

The ad must be re-approved every time it changes. If your ad is camera ready, please make sure it meets all of the following criteria before sending it to us via e-mail:

• All pictures and/or artwork in the ad have been savedasEPSorPDFfilesandarebeingsentwiththeadfile.IfadfileisPDF,allartandfontsmustbeembeddedinfile.

• Any special fonts to which we may not have access aresentwiththeadfile.

• The file has been formatted so that it will openon Adobe CS3-InDesign or Adobe Acrobat. (Most commonfileextensionsare.inddor.pdf.)

copy which it considers not in the best interest of the public or the University, because said copy is not in keeping with the usual newspaper standards of propriety, SFA policies or good taste. The advertiser assumes liability for the content of all advertising copy and agrees to hold The Pine Log harmless from all claims arising from that copy.

The Pine Log’s liability for an error shall be limited to the portion of the advertisement affected by the error. Notice of error must be given in time for correction before additional ads are published.

Representatives of The Pine Log are not authorized to make any deviations from the published rate or regulations.

adsmorethan18inchesinheightmustbebuilttofillthecomplete 21-inch page height and will be billed as such. Double truck ads must be either 8, 10, or 12 columns wide and the depth of the page. All double truck ads will be centered through the gutter.

payment and billing Statements, with tearsheets included, will be sent to

each advertiser between the 1st and 5th of each month. Payment will be due by the 10th day after receipt of the statement and will be considered past due after that period. Payment not received after 30 days will result in a halt of further advertising until payment is received. Payment not received after 30 days will be forwarded to the University FiscalOfficeforaction.Advertisersarerequiredtoprepayfor insertions until credit is established.

pre-printed inserts For all sizes, the local insertion rate is $85 per thousand. National rate is $145 per thousand. Inserts follow the same deadline schedule as display ads. Deliver or drop ship inserts to: The Pine Log, c/o Lufkin Daily News, Attn: Ferris Fain, 300 Ellis, Lufkin, TX 75902.
