Since 1947 Ketchie, Inc formerly known as Ketchie-Houston has been supplying industry with custom gear products. Today we enjoy an excellent reputation with both original equipment manufacturers and industrial distributors throughout the country. Our customers include machine tool, printing, textile machinery and agricultural industries to name a few. Our shop is equipped with everything from conventional equipment to state of the art CNC machines to handle your job with maximum efficiency. A wide range of equipment includes gear cutting, turning, grinding (except tooth forms), broaching, Milling and drilling. Ketchie, Inc then adds another feature that’s important to our customers, we test the gears we manufacture…a capa- bility that many gear manufacturers don’t have. The manufacture of quality custom gear products starts with the turning of a blank. Our CNC and manual lathes are used to make small to medium quantity lots of blanks to a measured diameter of 22 inches. Vertical machines are used for turning blanks measuring up to 36 inch diameter to a height of 12 inches. Our gear cutting department is comprised of a wide range of Fellows gear shapers. By using an assortment of similar equipment we often have available standard cutters which may preclude the need for a cutter tooling charge. Our machines are serviced and adjusted on a regular basis to insure your exacting requirements are met. The most modern plant, the latest machines and skilled workers are not sufficient to assure a qual- ity product. Each manufacturing step must be checked to assure conformity to the tolerance speci- fications.
