Screaming ans ollowed himeverywhere he went. But as soon ashe started singing, everyone settled down

to listen to his heartelt music.

    OPM hitmaker Gary Valenciano,

with his wie Angeli, joined Operation

Blessings outreach to Dabaweos, stirring up many hearts with his

signature songs o joy and hope.

He was up early last March 25 to

grace the dedication o two wells dug by

OB in a remote relocation site in Brgy.

Ilang, Davao City, where residents are

extremely happy that their source o

clean water is now within reach.

Gary then proceeded to Isla Verde, a

poor coastal Muslim village in the city,

where he turned over wheelchairs to theparents o two children with cerebral

palsy. Gary then perormed at the local

school gymnasium where he sang or

them some o his hits, like Shout for Joy,

    a crowd avorite.

    I will never orget

    their aces, Gary said.

    You see how their hearts

    are open to Gods message

    that gives them hope.

    Later that day Gary

    also perormed or MobileOut-o-School Training

    students inside OB

    Davaos House o Blessing.

    He then went out to

    visit some o OB Davaos

    neighbors, much to their

    surprise! One o them,

    Lola Mimi, weighed down

by her recurring ulcers and arthritis, elt

immediate relie when Gary and Angeli

prayed or her.The next day Gary went to Samal

Island to witness OBs medical mission

in action. He even helped Peter Kairuz

assemble a wheelchair or Mang Rodrigo,

    an amputee.

While with OB, Gary proved he is

indeed Mr. Pure Energy. He never tired

o sharing his lie story and his heartaheart o serviceto everyone he met.

When I get home, I will encourage

my other celebrity riends to join

activities like these, Gary said. I was

    really blessed.

    Joses worn-out and rusty wheelchair

has kept him company or 15 long

years. He has muscular dystrophy, a

    hereditary disease that weakened his

muscles, withered his body, and ended

his dreams o a good lie.

His sister Alma takes care o him.

She admits attending to Joses needs

is otentimes a little too much or her

    to handle.

Jose and Alma were quickly losing

hope about their uture, until God moved

in their lives through Operation Blessing.

The 700 Club Asia hosts Peter Kairuz

and Coney Reyes dropped by Joses houseduring the last day o OBs medical

mission in Samal Island. They brought

with them a brand new wheelchair or

Jose and heartelt prayers or both him

    and Alma.

Joses eyes glistened as he sat in his

new wheelchair. It looks great, better

than my old one, he said.

When OB learned Jose has a small

junk shop beside their house, they gave

him additional capital as an incentive orhis hard work despite his disability.

I didnt expect or more blessings,

Jose said, thankul or that day OB ound

its way to the island and into their lives.

PURE ENERGY AND A SERVANT HEART

    NO MORE RUSTY WHEELCHAIR

Last March, 30 kids rom Op-

eration Blessings communitytransormation program in Payatas

had a un-flled day at Enchanted

Kingdom, all thanks to Coney Reyes

who was the theme parks guest celeb-

rity or a storytelling activity. Ater-

wards, she joined the children as they

excitedly hopped rom one ride to

    another. Laughter, shouts and shrieks

    flled the air.

It was a day o great memories or

the children, especially when theyexperienced Coneys kindness.

We are so happy! I hope we can

go back again next week, Marcel, 13,

    said as she thanked OB.

Awedding venue was reserved and thegown was in the works. Gene andGemma Geronimo seemed to be all set

    or their renewal o vows.

This would be the frst time they getto experience a ull wedding ceremony

since they never had the chance to do

so when they tied the knot 25 years ago.

Yet the couple couldnt seem to agree on

a lot o things while preparing or their

    silver anniversary.

We simply couldnt arrive at a

    decision, Gene shared. We even

thought o backing out. Besides, all they

want is something simple to celebrate

this special occasion. For Gene and Gemma, who are both

actively serving in their Quezon City

church, they knew there are things more

    important than mere merry-making.

    One night, while discussing

    wedding plans, the couple

    chanced upon Sagot sa Krisis,

The 700 Club Asias live TV special.

    Gemma, a regular viewer, elt

    intensely blessed and inspired by

    testimonies eatured in the show.

I realized there are still a lot o

people that needs to be reached,

said Gemma. I then asked mysel,

are we going to spend that amount

in just one night o easting? Why

not oer the money to the Lord?

    Ater much prayer that evening,

Gene and Gemma decided to give

a part o their wedding budget to

the CBN Asia Family o Ministries.

The couple dropped by CBN Asia

to personally hand over their pledge, in

turn cancelling their reservation or the

    wedding venue and Gemmas gown.

When CBN Asias President andChie Executive Ofcer Peter Kairuz met

Gene and Gemma, he was astounded by

their act o generosity and unselfshness.

The Lord will honor what you did,

    your sacrifcial giving, Peter assured

the couple as he prayed or them in

    his ofce.

What was supposed to be a beautiul

    wedding anniversary was downsized

to a simple get-together with relatives,

but Gene and Gemma couldnt beany happier.

For 25 years God has guided our

marriage, Gemma said. This is our git

    to Him, our thanksgiving.

    A COUPLES

    HEARTFELT SACRIFICE

    Christopher Ogahinolas

astigmatism aected his work asa driver. He had to endure requent

migraines and blurry vision in his let

eye almost every day. He accepted the

act that he would never get well.

    While watching The 700 Club

Asias Sagot sa KrisisTV special, Chris

    headaches attacked again. His let

eye was swollen and the extreme pain

that ran through his head down to his

    spine was unbearable.

He was surprised to hear Peter

    Kairuz say, There is someone

    watching right now suering rom

a painul let eye. He immediately

joined Peter in prayer, and indeed his

    pain suddenly disappeared and has

never bother him again ever since.

    I believe God has completely

healed me. I can now drive my

    passengers to their destination saely

    and without worry, he said.

    A CLEAR GLIMPSE OF A

    MIRACLE

Gemma Gonzaga and her sonssuered rom many odd illnesses, which she later ound out to be a work o

    witchcrat.

I consulted manyalbularyos(olkhealers) to undo the curse and take

revenge, but it was all in vain, narrated

    the 44-year-old widow.

While watching The 700 Club Asia,

    DELIVERED FROM

    THE ENEMY

    PAGE 4l www.cbnasia.org

Gemma heard Coney Reyes pray or a

woman suering rom severe pain on her

let knee. Thats me! she said to hersel.

She prayed in tears and asked or

    Gods deliverance. Aterwards her pain

    suddenly disappeared. She confdently

believes God released her and her amily

rom the curse o the enemy.

God is powerul! Nothing isimpossible to Him, she exclaimed.

Jesus Christ let her spellbound o His

great majesty and accepted Him as her

This year, Asian Center or Missions welcomesa new season o great harvest with newleadership coming rom Nathaniel Ramos, ACMs

    new Philippine director.

Nat served as a pastor or 13 years beoreenrolling in ACMs missionary training program

in 1997. For his international exposure trip, he

went to Japan where he saw various marital conicts

and abuse among Filipinos married to Japanese.

So rom 1998 to 2001, he and his amily lived in

Tokyo, where he started cross-cultural marriage

    counseling or Filipino-Japanese couples.

Nat was supposed to bring his counseling

ministry to Sydney. But when that door o

opportunity was closed, ACM invited him

in 2003 to head the Central Luzon centerin Angeles City. Under his management,

the regional center produced our batches

o ACM graduates, many o them now

    heeding their missionary calling in

    Asias Gospel rontiers.

    Today, Nat bears the responsibility

    o mobilizing, training and acilitating

the sending o missionaries, as well

as acing up to the challenges brought

by the changing landscape in the

    mission feld.

He sees ACMs next important step

    is unprecedented expansion, to truly

ulfll the Philippines calling as a great

    missionary sending-nation.

    Our response to missions should

not just be individual, but national.

We should come to a point where the

whole country responds to Gods global

    agenda, he says.

Nat says this vision o expansion can

be readily achieved through bayanihanamong local ministerial ellowships,

    ACM regional managers and their

    advisory councils. Their collective

response to missions should be elevated

rom individual to corporate to national.

Nat is also excited to see missionaries

pioneering in new territories where the

Gospel has not been heard. He also

    envisions the Filipino diaspora (Greek

    or scattered) churches and OFWs

rom across the globe playing a pivotalrole in expanding missions.

    These churches can be receiving

    organizations, potential donors, or even

    training centers, he explains.

    Then our OFWs, beore they

leave the Philippines, can be trained in

missions. Theyll see a bigger purpose

in being migrant workers: to become a

blessing to the world. Once they begin

to understand this, going into missions is

no longer a proession but a liestyle.

    ASIAN CENTER FOR MISSIONS

    USHERS IN NEW LEADERSHIP

Liam (not his real name) was just a teenager when his wholeamily sat down in ACMs evening classes. His atherdecided that its time or them to work in Gods harvest feld.

He was clueless about missions at frst. But each night, when I listen to the stories, I began to understand more about

missions and what Gods plan really is, Liam said.

Ater six months, at the age o 18, Liam became the

youngest graduate o ACM Western Visayas, ready to go to

the ends o the earth like any missionary twice his age.

In 2006 they went to a Southeast Asian nation to begin

pursuing their calling. His ather, an agriculturist, conducts

community development trainings or local armers, while

at the same time guiding local Christians in reaching out to

    unbelievers in their area.

Liams responsibilities in the feld are maniold:documentations, project proposals, visa renewals, logistics,

liaison work. The list can go on.

I got to learn the language quickly, so i theres a

    misunderstanding, I mediate, he added.

A TIMOTHY IN THE HARVEST FIELD

    PAGE 5l www.cbnasia.org

Like a true Timothy, Liam never allows his age be a hindranceto heeding Gods call or him and his whole amily.

God is calling me now. Why say Ill obey when Im 30? he

said. Its not about your age but your availability to serve Him.

Last Good Friday, partners andmembers of CBN Asia, the producerofThe 700 Club Asia, presented

Tanikala: Bihag ng Kadiliman through aco-production with Jesus the Anointed

    One Church.

The TV special attracted 2.7 million

viewers, earning a 16.6% TV rating, the

highest in its timeslot according to AGB

Nielsen, and placed seventh among all

    TV programs during the day.

Tanikala is a trilogy of real-life

    accounts of people who experienced

    demonic possessions and encounters

with supernatural beings such as aswangs,

    white ladies and dwarves.

    The program featured the actual

narration of Tseka Rafols in Desepsyon,

Liezel Ilagan in Boses: Udyok ng mga

Dwende, and Joy Marasigan in Takot:

    Ang Lihim ng Lumang Bahay.

    One of the most remarkable

    testimonies we received was from

Robert*, 45, of Quezon City. He shared

how his ideal and happy family started tocrumble when his wife, Eloisa*, seemed

to behave like a different person and

    eventually left them.

    Tanikala: Bihag ng Kadiliman

Reaches 2.7 Million ViewersShe started acting differently

which led to our constant quarrels. In

September of that year, she left us. Our

children were the ones greatly affected, said Robert.

Two months later his wife came back,

but a happy ending did not happen.

Robert and his children found out that

    Eloisa was into witchcraft.

During the Holy Week she had

    nightmares and visitations from people

only she could see. She was angry at us.

She even tried to leave the house again,

    Robert narrated.

Then on Good Friday, we got a text

message from a person inviting us to

watch The 700 Club Asias Tanikala. We

were all tuned in when my wife started

crying hard and admitted she engaged in

witchcraft, read a black book, went into

astral projection and opened her third eye.

She then accepted Jesus Christ in her life.

Tanikala was hosted by Peter Kairuz,

and written and directed by Jose Paolo T.

Tesico. The TV special was made possiblein part through the help of PLDT, San

    Miguel Corporation and M. Lhuillier.
