The Rise of Doosan Powerful forklifts for all applications

2009 is set to be another important year in the history of Korean forklift company Doosan.

Doosan has had a phenomenally successful few years, introducing a completely new range, winning a number of major fleet contracts and raising its international profile with the acquisition of associated businesses such as Bobcat and Moxy. Sales are at an all time high and penetration of the UK market has seen the Korean business go from a respected member of the pack, to one of the markets leaders. In 2008, Doosan collected their fourth consecutive Fork Lift Truck Association Award for Excellence and our third in the Safety category.

Doosan s 2006 turnover reached $15.2bn, of which almost $4bn was accounted for by the Infracore division, which includes forklift, construction equipment and other related businesses.

Meanwhile the Doosan Group s profits have grown at an average annual rate of 58% over the past 5 years, surpassing $1bn in 2006. As a result, stock market value has risen by a staggering 400% since the company acquired the old Daewoo forklift business in 2005.

Our aim is to become a global top 5 forklift producer by 2010, says UK Sales Manager Paul Watson. We’ve added a number of safety and productivity features to our machines and increased fuel efficiency across the board. The future outlook is very positive indeed.

Thanks to the growing presence of Doosan as a major forklift brand, new Doosan trucks can now be seen at Prestwick & Kent International Airports, British Airways World Cargo at Heathrow and Gatwick, Outokompu, Lydney Containers, Eddie Stobart, Bishop’s Move, Allied Bakeries, Scott Timber and many other high profile places.
