And how are they to hear without someone preaching? Romans 10:14b. ESV

Julia C. was living on the streets of

Raleigh, NC—homeless, addicted to crack

cocaine and in bondage to alcohol. She

felt so ashamed every time she came to

Moore Square to receive a free meal from

area churches. She was ashamed of what

she had become.

One day, Julia came to the square for

food and heard Darrel preaching the good

news of Jesus Christ. She responded to

the invitation to trust Christ that day.

Later, she said, “I know God saved me

that day.”

Over a year later, she is still clean and

sober and working to put her life back

together. It is only because of the power

of the gospel that Julia and others like her

are finding new life in Christ.

How can they hear without a

preacher? And how can they preach

unless the person preaching is sent?
