PREQUALIFICATION REGULATIONS FORRESTORATION OF THE LOUIS I. KAHN TRENTON BATH HOUSE AND DAY

CAMP PAVILIONS

EWING SENIOR AND COMMUNITY CENTER

EWING TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY

STATEMENT OF GENERAL NOTICE

The Louis I. Kahn Trenton Bath House is located at the Ewing Senior and CommunityCenter in Ewing Township, Mercer County, New Jersey. The property is listed on theNew Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. All work done on this project mustconform to the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of HistoricProperties, and is subject to review by the New Jersey Historic Trust and the StateHistoric Preservation Office. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the followingwork to be executed under a single contract:

Bath House1. Selective Demolition2. Structural Improvements3. Concrete Masonry Unit Restoration and Cleaning4. Doors5. Interior Treatments and Woodwork6. Bathrooms7. Electrical8. Sitework

All work shall be performed in accordance with the Project Manual, Plans, andSpecifications.

The preliminary plans will be available in the Office of the Municipal Clerk, EwingTownship Municipal Building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive, Ewing, New Jersey between 9 and 4pm, Monday through Friday. prequalification stage to determine interest and capability. The date for the site visithas been scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 9:00 am.

The funding received through the New Jersey Historic Trust Bond Fund requires thatprospective bidders must submit a completed Qualifications Statement as set forthherein.

Failure to complete the Bidders Qualifications Statement in full will result indisqualification of the prospective bidder.

Five (5) complete Bidders Qualifications Statements must be submitted in asealed envelope that shall be received by the Township of Ewing, Ewing TownshipMunicipal Building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive, Ewing, New Jersey 08628 in the Office ofthe Municipal Clerk until 10:00 A.M., prevailing local time, on Monday, October 26,2009 and will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter in the EwingTownship Council Chambers.

The qualifications of prospective bidders shall be evaluated by representatives of the

County of Mercer, Ewing Township, New Jersey Historic Trust, and project architects, inaccordance with the Evaluation Criteria set forth herein. Prospective Bidders whoseQualifications Statements are determined to be acceptable shall be identified asQualified Bidders.

Ewing Township shall notify in writing the Prospective Bidders that they have beendetermined to be Qualified Bidders. Prospective Bidders who are not determined to bequalified will also be notified in writing. Ewing Township shall issue bid proposal forms,plans, and specifications only to qualified Bidders. Only bids received from QualifiedBidders will be opened.

The successful Pre-qualified Bidder shall submit with the bid the name or names of all

subcontractors to whom the bidder will subcontract and evidence of performance suretyfor themselves as well as subcontractors. Ewing Township shall submit to the NewJersey Historic Trust for its review and approval the qualifications of subcontractors whowill be used on the project.
