Three BIG EAST Conference selections return for UC, as well as two of its top four starting pitchers. Preseason pundits list three key returners – Tony Campana, Josh Harrison, and Dan Osterbrock – to lead Cincinnati’s chances, heading into the campaign. Three Bearcats batted .300-or-better in 2007, and two are back on the diamond. Three UC hurlers won five or more games last season, and two return to the hill this campaign. CATCHER Ryan Baker is back after serving as the Bearcats’ regular backstop nearly everyday in 2007. The senior hit 13 doubles in 52 games a year ago. Baker can not only handle the pitching staff, but he proved capable at the plate, knocking in 20 runs, and on the base paths where he stole five bases in six chances. Nick Rolfs has the defensive skills necessary to provide depth to the position, but must continue to work hard to see action behind the dish. At 6-3, 210 pounds, Tyler Goodro brings promising tools with him after two seasons at Butler County Community College. Goodro missed much of the fall due to an injury, but is ready to contribute. UP THE MIDDLE Josh Harrison shifts to shortstop after garnering second-team all-BIG EAST honors at third base a year ago. A versatile athlete, Harrison started all 56 games as a sophomore. Sure to finish on nearly every UC career Top 10 list, the Cincinnati native hit .327, with 28 extra-base hits, 56 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 2007. Second base will be manned by sophomore Jamel Scott, who will look to improve upon a freshman campaign in which he stole seven bases in 31 starts. Freshman Chris Peters provides a slick-fielding glove behind both Harrison and Scott. Peters brings strong defensive ability to the middle infield and is loaded with promise at the plate. THE CORNERS Both first and third base will be held down by new faces in the everyday lineup. Kevin Johnson is slated to start at the first base after registering half of his hits for extra bases last season. A talented athlete, Johnson started 11 games as a freshman and is going to see time as a two-way player, including time on the mound as well. The third base post looks to start with junior Mike Spina, who continues to gain confidence after transferring from Florida Community College. Spina hit .373 with 10 doubles and six home runs on his way to second- team all-Mid-Florida Conference honors as a sophomore. The state’s 3A Player of the Year in 2006, he successfully stole 68-of-69 bases during his prep career. Michael Obyc’s versatility allowed him to play in 48 games in 2007. The owner of five doubles in 2007, Obyc will look for action at both corner infield positions and also in the outfield. A talented baserunner, Obyc was a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen base attempts as a junior. OUTFIELD The national base stealing champion and second-team all-BIG EAST choice, senior outfielder Tony Campana returns for his second and final season with the Bearcats. Campana hit .329 last spring, with 78 hits, 51 runs, and a school-record 60 stolen bases in 2007. Junior Cameron Satterwhite also returns for his second season as a starter in the lineup. Cincinnati’s regular rightfielder, Satterwhite is loaded with potential. The Cincinnati native slugged .491, with nine home runs, and scored 34 runs as a sophomore. Freshman Justin Riddell is a fresh face who has jumped onto the scene as the favorite to play every day in left field. A first-team all- state selection in 2007 at Lexington Catholic High School, Riddell brings a winning perspective to the Bearcats. His prep team was rated as high as No. 17 in the Baseball America national poll last spring and won a state championship in 2006. A starter in 10 of the final 14 games last season for the Bearcats, junior Dustin Alvey adds ample experience and depth to the outfield. Newcomer Dane Fienning provides good athleticism and could also provide the Bearcats with another daring base runner. PITCHERS Leading the balanced Bearcats pitching staff is left-hander Dan Osterbrock. The Saturday starter for much of 2007, Osterbrock moves to the Friday slot and will have to focus to face opponents’ best efforts this season. The junior southpaw made 14 starts a year ago, finishing with a 9-1 record, including a 2.67 earned run average. Osterbrock finished seventh in the BIG EAST in strikeouts with 82, and 10th in innings pitched with 94.1. Last season the southpaw got off to a promising start with a three-hit shutout against Dartmouth. Osterbrock won six of his last seven starts, all in league play, to post a 6-1 record and a 2.45 ERA in BIG EAST action. Right-hander Michael Hill is the solid No. 2 starter for the Bearcats. The hard-throwing Hill finished 5-2, with a 5.24 ERA in 15 appearances. Hill made 10 starts after transferring from East Carolina and totaled 59 strikeouts against 28 walks. The Cincinnati Bearcats enter the 2008 season with high expectations after an up-and-down ride last spring.

Three UC hurlers won fi ve or more games last season, and two return to the hill this campaign.

CATCHER Ryan Baker is back after serving as the Bearcats’ regular backstop

nearly everyday in 2007. The senior hit 13 doubles in 52 games a year ago. Baker can not only handle the pitching staff , but he proved capable at the plate, knocking in 20 runs, and on the base paths where he stole fi ve bases in six chances.

UP THE MIDDLE Josh Harrison shifts to shortstop after garnering second-team

all-BIG EAST honors at third base a year ago. A versatile athlete, Harrison started all 56 games as a sophomore. Sure to fi nish on nearly every UC career Top 10 list, the Cincinnati native hit .327, with 28 extra-base hits, 56 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 2007.

Second base will be manned by sophomore Jamel Scott, who will look to improve upon a freshman campaign in which he stole seven bases in 31 starts.

Freshman Chris Peters provides a slick-fi elding glove behind both Harrison and Scott. Peters brings strong defensive ability to the middle infi eld and is loaded with promise at the plate.

THE CORNERS Both fi rst and third base will be held down

by new faces in the everyday lineup. Kevin Johnson is slated to start at the fi rst base after registering half of his hits for extra bases last season. A talented athlete, Johnson started 11 games as a freshman and is going to see time as a two-way player,

including time on the mound as well. The third base post looks to start

with junior Mike Spina, who continues to gain confi dence after transferring from Florida Community College. Spina hit .373 with 10 doubles and six home runs on his way to second-team all-Mid-Florida Conference honors as a sophomore. The state’s 3A Player of the Year in 2006, he successfully stole 68-of-69 bases during his prep career.

Michael Obyc’s versatility allowed him to play in 48 games in 2007. The owner of fi ve doubles in 2007, Obyc will look for action at both corner infi eld positions and also in the outfi eld. A talented baserunner, Obyc was a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen base attempts as a junior.

OUTFIELD The national base stealing champion and second-team all-BIG

EAST choice, senior outfi elder Tony Campana returns for his second and fi nal season with the Bearcats. Campana hit .329 last spring, with 78 hits, 51 runs, and a school-record 60 stolen bases in 2007.

Junior Cameron Satterwhite also returns for his second season as a starter in the lineup. Cincinnati’s regular rightfi elder, Satterwhite is loaded with potential. The Cincinnati native slugged .491, with nine home runs, and scored 34 runs as a sophomore.

Freshman Justin Riddell is a fresh face who has jumped onto the scene as the favorite to play every day in left fi eld. A fi rst-team all-state selection in 2007 at Lexington Catholic High School, Riddell brings a winning perspective to the Bearcats. His prep team was rated as high as No. 17 in the Baseball America national poll last spring and won a state championship in 2006.

A starter in 10 of the fi nal 14 games last season for the Bearcats, junior Dustin Alvey adds ample experience and depth to the outfi eld. Newcomer Dane Fienning provides good athleticism and could also provide the Bearcats with another daring base runner.

PITCHERS Leading the balanced Bearcats pitching staff is left-hander Dan

Osterbrock. The Saturday starter for much of 2007, Osterbrock moves to the Friday slot and will have to focus to face opponents’ best eff orts this season.

The junior southpaw made 14 starts a year ago, fi nishing with a 9-1 record, including a 2.67 earned run average. Osterbrock fi nished seventh in the BIG EAST in strikeouts with 82, and 10th in innings pitched with 94.1.

he went 6-2 last season at Ohio Wesleyan, with a 5.02 earned run average. He made 15 appearances, with nine coming as a starter, and tossed a pair of complete games last spring.

Jake Geglein and Brian Garman are competing for the mid-week starting honors. Both the right-handed Geglein and the left-handed Garman appeared in 14 games, with one start apiece last season. Geglein fi nished with a 2.70 ERA a year ago, struck out 17 and walked fi ve in 20 innings of work. Garman fi nished with a 1-2 mark in 21 innings on the mound.

The bullpen should be anchored by senior A.J. Upton. The veteran right-hander is battling back from injury, and serves as a leader in the clubhouse and on campus. Listed 11th in Bearcats’ history with six career saves, he made 16 relief appearances, striking out 10 in 14.1 innings of work as a junior.

Also competing for roles on the pitching staff is two-way player Kevin Johnson, and newcomers Nick Johnson and Justin Schultheiss. When not at fi rst base, Kevin Johnson pitched in nine contests last season. Nick Johnson and Schultheiss both show ample promise as fi rst-year players.

Looking for short relief, the Bearcats can turn to the trio of Adam Calez, Evan Sanford, and Billy Welsh. Each has shown the ability to take the ball and compete as relievers in pressure situations. Calez made 18 relief appearances, struck out 23 and allowed opponents to hit .152 against him in 22 innings of work last year. Sanford, the busiest reliever on the staff in 2007, made 19 appearances, and posted a 2.70 ERA. Welsh tallied a team-best four saves last season in 16 relief outings.

Senior Matt Heber adds depth and the experience of 45 career relief appearances to the Bearcats bullpen. Freshmen Lou Coppola, Brian Sand, and Sam Slavik all will bolster the bullpen. Robb Thompson was set to compete after making 12 appearances out of the bullpen, with a 2.70 ERA, but the sophomore could miss the year with an injury.

SCHEDULE Cleary wanted the Bearcats to face a challenging schedule in

2008. It doesn’t get much tougher than opening the college baseball season with a three-game set in Coral Gables, Fla., against the nationally-ranked Miami Hurricanes.

With the schedule shortened by two weeks, due to the new uniform start date in NCAA Division I college baseball, a record 34

home games highlight a busy docket for the Bearcats. Three NCAA Tournament qualifi ers from the 2007 season dot

UC’s schedule, including College World Series participant Louisville. Cincinnati will host one of the qualifi ers in BIG EAST power Rutgers, while traveling to Louisville. The home schedule calls for visits from many traditional rivals, fi ve BIG EAST home weekends and a 17-game homestand near the beginning of the calendar.

The 12-year head coach states, “Fans will get to enjoy visits from many of our regional rivals, along with some of the top teams in the BIG EAST including USF, Rutgers and West Virginia. We’ve seen that the BIG EAST schedule is a grind and we expect no diff erent this year. Our hope is that we have put together a solid schedule that will prepare us to compete for a BIG EAST Championship.”

HEAD COACHHEAD COACH

B R I A N CLEARYCLEARY11 • 12TH SEASON • FAIRFIELD ‘90

During his 11 seasons at the University of Cincinnati, Brian Cleary has established himself as one of the top coaches to lead the Bearcats on the diamond. After taking over a struggling program in 1997, Cleary has led the Bearcats to 267 wins in his career, ranking second on the school’s all-time win list behind the legendary Glenn Sample.

By building with youth, the 39-year-old Cleary has established a strong core of young athletes. He has upgraded the talent level within the program thanks to an emphasis on aggressive recruiting. Cleary has now set his sights on taking the program to the NCAA Tournament.

For the past four seasons, Cleary has rebuilt a team that should be poised to contend for BIG EAST championships. With the completion of the

state-of-the-art Marge Schott Stadium and the signing of three straight top recruiting

classes, Cleary’s team should be one to watch in the BIG EAST for years to come.

In the fall of 2007, Cleary served as an assistant coach during the European Championships for the Great Britain National Team. During his stay in Europe, Cleary worked with the

British pitchers, helping the squad capture second place, their

best-ever fi nish, at the Championships.

2007 ended with UC holding a record of 28-28. At the season’s conclusion, pitcher John Baird was the 12th draft pick of the Cleary tenure when the

Tampa Bay Devil Rays

selected him in the 24th round of the MLB Draft. The

progression began to show dividends during the 2006 season as Cleary guided the Bearcats to their sixth 30-win season ever and fi rst post-season appearance since 2001. Following the season, Logan Parker became the 11th draft pick in the Cleary era when the Cincinnati Reds selected him in the 12th round of the MLB Draft.

The 2005 season brought an improvement of 10 victories from the year before, as the Bearcats fi nished the campaign with a 25-30 mark. The season concluded with Josh Kay and Mark Haske both being selected in the MLB Draft. Later in 2005, UC’s recruiting class received honorable mention nationally from Collegiate Baseball magazine.

Cleary made an immediate impact upon joining the Bearcat family. After inheriting a team that won only fi ve games in 1996, Cleary pushed his teams to increased win totals each of his fi rst four years. After winning 12 games in his fi rst year, he increased that total to 15 in 1998, 30 in 1999 and 35 in 2000.

The 1999 squad posted a breakthrough 30-29 season, shattering 17 individual and eight team records and fi nishing as the eighth most-improved team in the nation (12-game improvement). The 30 wins marked just the third 30-win season in UC’s 115 years of baseball and the fi rst winning campaign since 1995.

In 2000, the Bearcats won a school-record 35 games and advanced to the fi nals of the Conference USA Tournament. The squad also set four individual and eight school records.

In 2001, UC garnered 34 wins, the second-most in school history, and went 16-11 in C-USA to fi nish tied for third. That fi nish was the best ever by a Bearcats team in C-USA. Kevin Youkilis was a third-team all-American and one of three Bearcats taken in the 2001 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. Tony Maynard was named a freshman all-American, and Chris Hamblen was a fi nalist for the Johnny Bench Award, given to the top catcher in the nation. That

season, Baseball America named Cleary one of the Top 10 coaches on the rise in Division I.

Cleary came to UC after three seasons at Tulane, where he helped the Green Wave to a 116-70 mark and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Cleary’s eff orts as an associate head coach, assistant coach, and recruiting coordinator helped Tulane to the 1996 C-USA championship and a Top 25 national ranking. In addition to his duties as recruiting coordinator, Cleary coached the hitters, infi elders, and baserunners and served as the team’s third-base coach.

A 1990 graduate of Fairfi eld University, Cleary, a native of Boca Raton, Fla., earned four letters and was a two-time Metro Atlantic Conference All-Academic team pick.

The Brian Cleary Recruiting Philosophy Brian Cleary’s recruiting philosophy is simple. Start by

keeping the best local talent at home. During Cleary’s

tenure, he has brought a slew of local products to UC,

including fi ve who have gone on to play professionallyFormer Bearcats and local products Curtus Moak

(Cincinnati Reds/Oakland A’s), Chris Hamblen (Texas Rangers), Steve Pickerell (Tampa Bay Rays), Matt Singer

(New York Yankees), and Kevin Youkilis (Boston Red Sox) have all played professional baseball in various organizations in recent years. From there, Cleary attracts top players from across the

country, including Josh Kay (Oakland A’s), Mark Haske

(Detroit Tigers), John Baird (Tampa Rays) and Logan Parker

(Cincinnati Reds) who have all been selected in the last

three MLB drafts. Cleary’s fi rst three recruiting classes

were ranked among the best in the nation by Collegiate

Baseball magazine, the only program in Ohio so honored.

Brad Meador has compiled eight years of experience at Cincinnati, including the last three as associate head coach. Currently, Meador coordinates the Bearcats’ recruiting eff orts, while also working with the team’s defense.

Since joining the Bearcats in 1999, Meador has handled a variety of roles. On the fi eld, he has coached fi rst and third base and has been responsible for coaching hitters, infi elders, and outfi elders. Meador’s administrative duties have included coordinating camps, organizing travel, and planning practices.

Meador has made his mark working with the Bearcat defense during his UC career. Four times Cincinnati has fi nished among the top 11 in the country in double plays turned, including a school-record 72 in 1999 and 69 in 2005. Also in 2005, the Bearcats ranked fourth nationally in double plays per game and 15th in fi elding percentage at .972, the second-highest single-season mark in school history.

Off ensively, Meador has helped produce some of the top power hitting teams in the nation.

UC has led the conference in home runs twice during Meador’s tenure

and ranked ninth in the country in 2001 and 28th a year later. In 2002, four diff erent Bearcats hit at least 10 home runs and UC set a school and league record with eight in

one game. Meador has also been credited with helping Logan Parker

being drafted in the 12th round of the 2006 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.

Prior to joining the Bearcats, Meador spent two years at New

Mexico State coaching hitters and infi elders. The Aggies went

from last to second in the Big West in fi elding percentage

during his fi rst year and fi nished eighth in the country in double

plays turned in 1999. The squad was also fi fth in the nation in batting and home runs in 1998.

Meador began his career at Oklahoma State as a lead instructor in the Mid-American Baseball Satellite School under former Cowboys’ coach Gary Ward.

During his nine years as a

Division I assistant coach, Meador has coached 22 players that have gone on to play professional baseball.

Before heading to Oklahoma State, the 33-year-old Meador attended Southwestern Oklahoma State on a football scholarship.

What Others Are Saying About Brad Meador“Whether it was hitting me extra ground balls

or throwing me soft toss, Coach Meador never hesitated to come early or stay late from practice to help me out. He is one of the more genuine coaches I have played for and he truly wants to see you succeed. His help was a big part of how I became a fi rst team all-conference player.”

--Brad Schutz, Bearcat from 2000-03 “Simply put, Brad Meador is an incredibly

talented baseball man -- a great teacher of the game and a great evaluator of talent. Not only does he have a great feel for baseball but more importantly, in my opinion, a feel for the kids. Brad has great people skills which you can see at work as he deals with players, recruits, parents, administrators, faculty, and alums. I cannot imagine a better assistant as he brings work ethic, strong opinions and solid advice to our program. He has been fi ercely loyal to me and to the University of Cincinnati.” --Cincinnati head coach Brian Cleary

“Brad has that rare combination of personal discipline for organizational skills and the intelligence to communicate and teach today’s college player. He will prepare major college hitters to excel at that level as well as prepare them for professional baseball.” --Gary Ward, the 12th-winningest baseball coach

in Division I history

Chris Reilly, a standout pitcher in college and a former Baltimore Orioles top prospect, is the newest member of the University of Cincinnati baseball staff as he will tutor the Bearcats’ hurlers. Reilly enjoyed a stellar playing career and comes to UC via Daytona Beach Community College.

Reilly has spent the last two seasons at DBCC working with the squad’s pitchers and catchers and serving as the Coordinator of the Falcon Baseball Developmental Program. During his stay in Florida, Reilly helped the Falcons to consecutive conference championships and tutored the 2006 conference Pitcher of the Year.

Reilly, a native of Bound Brook, N.J., brings BIG EAST ties to the UC program, having spent the fi rst two seasons of his collegiate

career at Seton Hall. As a Pirate, Reilly won 10 games over two seasons and was an honorable mention Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American in 2000. He fi nished his career at national powerhouse Oklahoma State, winning six games for the Cowboys and earning honorable mention all-conference honors in 2002. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from OSU in 2005.

After completing his collegiate career, Reilly played two seasons in the Baltimore Orioles’ minor league system, before wrapping up his playing career with two years as a member of the Windy

City Thunderbolts of the Independent Frontier League. Reilly furthered his coaching career during the summer of

2006, serving as pitching coach for the St. Cloud River Bats of the Northwoods League.

No newcomer to the program, Brian Szarmach makes his collegiate coaching debut as a volunteer assistant. Intimately aware of the playing style and expectations of the Bearcats, Szarmach has a deep understanding as a former player for Brian Cleary.

A regular for his fi nal three years in the Cincinnati lineup in left fi eld, Szarmach appeared in 175 games from 2003-07, making 158 starts. His 175 career games currently rank him 20th on UC’s career list. A potent off ensive threat, Szarmach fi nished 10th on the UC career list in home runs with 25 and in RBIs with 127. His 272 total bases list him 20th on the school’s all-time list.

As a senior, the Chicagoland native fi nished third on the team with 43 RBIs in 51 games. Szarmach set several individual marks during his fi nal season, including the biggest game of his career, a 4-for-5 performance, with four runs scored, six RBIs and a homer. He recorded his lone two-homer game against BIG EAST foe West Virginia before fi nishing the year with 12 multiple-hit games and nine multiple-RBI performances. Szarmach tallied two hits in fi ve of the fi rst nine games and also notched a career-best 13-game hit streak as a senior.

Noted for his off ensive power numbers, Szarmach fi nished second on the team in both home runs (7) and RBIs (49) during the 2006 campaign. His 49 RBIs during his junior season tied him for the 20th-best single-season total in UC history. The owner of four grand slams during his career, Szarmach drove in six runs in a game three times during his career and totaled three grand slams his junior season.

Szarmach received his degree in communications from the University of Cincinnati in 2007. Originally from St. Charles, Ill., Szarmach lives in Cincinnati and is single

2007 REVIEWThe 2007 season was a roller coaster ride for the University of Cincinnati baseball team. The campaign ended on a disappointing note as a 28-28 overall record and a 10-16 BIG EAST mark left the team just short of a berth in the conference tournament. Not all was lost however as a season of outstanding individual performances, including a fl urry by underclassmen, has UC primed to compete for BIG EAST Championships in the near future.

STAFF ACE: As a freshman, Dan Osterbrock showed fl ashes of greatness, fi nishing with a 3-3 record, a 5.25 ERA and two complete games. In 2007, he evolved into one of the BIG EAST’s best hurlers, ranking among the league leaders in wins (T-3rd, 9), opponents batting average (4th, .223), strikeouts (T-7th, 82), and innings (10th, 94.1). Osterbrock made an impact on UC's single-season lists, tying for third in wins, seventh in strikeouts and ranking ninth in

innings pitched. Osterbrock earned his fi rst BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week honor after a three-hit shutout of Dartmouth on March 3. For his eff orts during the year, the Cincinnati native was tabbed a fi rst team ABCA All-Region and All-BIG EAST selection.

LEAD-OFF TERROR: Tony Campana made a big impact on the top of the Bearcat line-up in 2007, while patrolling centerfi eld in all 56 games. He was a sparkplug at the top of the line-up, swiping a UC single-season record 60 bases and hitting .329. Campana had a career-best 18-game hit streak snapped on March 25 but gathered at least one hit in all but 10 games during the season. In addition to ranking second in the BIG EAST in steals, Campana was ninth with 33 walks. Campana showed his speed early, swiping a school-record six bags in a February contest at North Carolina A&T and breaking the school single-season mark in the team’s 27th game when he nabbed his 36th bag of the year.

HARRISON BACK AT IT: Josh Harrison picked up where he left off one year prior in 2007, hitting .327 and ranking among the BIG EAST leaders in runs (T-6th, 59), doubles (T-9th, 17), home runs (T-12th, 9), RBI (10th, 56), total bases (T-11th, 120), slugging percentage (9th, .545), sacrifi ce fl ies (1st, 9), and stolen bases (T-7th, 21). At Austin Peay on Feb. 18, Harrison saw his career-best 18-game hit streak come to an end, but he bounced back with his fourth home run one day later. In the 114 career games, Harrison

has failed to gather a hit in just 20 contests. Harrison had his biggest game as a Bearcat on March 24 at Pittsburgh, homering twice in a game for the fi rst time and tying a school record with eight RBI. Harrison also made himself at home on the UC single-season lists, ranking in stolen bases (T-10th), RBI (12th), runs (T-14th), doubles (T-14th) and hits (T-17th).

MILESTONE VICTORY: The Bearcats’ victory over Chicago State on March 18 was a special one for UC head coach Brian Cleary as it marked the 250th triumph of his coaching career. Cleary ranks second in school history in coaching wins with 258, trailing only the legendary Glenn Sample who amassed 391 victories. The triumph also marked the program’s 1,000 victory since 1958.

A MUCH NEEDED LIFT: With Logan Parker’s big bat lost in the middle of the line up, seniors Neall French and Brian Szarmach stepped up to fi ll the hole:

French was the anchor of the Bearcat line-up, tying for second in the BIG EAST with 65 RBI, to rank fi fth on UC’s single-season list. He also provided a huge power boost, tying for sixth in the BIG EAST with 11 home runs. French had his best day as a Bearcat at Kentucky on March 7, with a career-best six RBI, courtesy of a pair of three-run homers. In the fi rst game of the Rutgers doubleheader on May 5, French tallied a career-best fi ve hits.

Szarmach hit a solid .284 and had 43 RBI. He tacked on 13 doubles, a triple and eight home runs, including his fi rst career multi-homer game on April 14 at West Virginia. Szarmach had a monster game in the fi rst game of the Morehead State doubleheader on May 2, fi nishing with career-highs in runs (three), hits (four) and RBI (six).

Please direct requests for information, interviews, and credentials to Kelby Siler in the Sports Communications Offi ce at (513) 556-0617 or via email at [email protected]. Requests may also be faxed to (513) 556-0619. Credentials will be held at the Ticket Offi ce (Down right fi eld line of Marge Schott Stadium) for pick up on the day of the game, unless other arrangements are made.

Photograpers are limited to working in the photo wells beyond each dugout at fi eld level. Space is also available throughout the concourse area of Marge Schott Stadium.

Permission to broadcast or telecast a Cincinnati game from Marge Schott Stadium must be requested through the Sports communications Offi ce. Phone lines have been installed for use by visiting radio stations on a reciprocal basis.

The Cincinnati locker room is closed to all members of the media. Approximately 10 minutes following the conclusion of the game, head coach Brian Cleary and players requested by the media will be brought onto the fi eld for interviews.

Media wishing to interview Cincinnati players on dates other than game days should contact the Sports Communications Offi ce. The Sports Communications Offi ce will arrange a time in which the player(s) can call or meet the media representative(s). Players may be available immediately before and after the practice sessions. Unless special arrangements have been made, players shall not be accessible to the media on game days prior to the game.

Cincinnati baseball information and statistics are continually available to the media via the athletics department web site: GoBEARCATS.com. The Sports Communications Offi ce will also email game notes packages to media as the game notes become available. To be placed on the list, contact Kelby Siler at [email protected]

Telephones are available in the press box. The box is also wired for high-speed internet connections. Those with special telephone requests should contact the Sports Communications Offi ce.

Live stats for all University of Cincinnati home games and most road contests are available by logging onto GoBEARCATS.com.

In August of 2006, the University of Cincinnati Athletics Department unveiled a redesigned and upgraded web

site, www.GoBEARCATS.com, which serves as Bearcats fans’ number one stop for all the best in UC coverage.

The site is more fan-friendly and easier to navigate. Visitors can fi nd numerous new features including blogs from student-athletes, increased audio and video content and extensive live coverage of Bearcat Olympic sports. Various interactive features, including an “Ask the AD” section, are also included.

The new home of Bearcat Athletics on the web is also more accessible for prospective UC student-athletes.
