The Devon Coast to Coast is one of the most spectacular and memorable elements of the emerging national cycle Network.
It combines the beaches and superb estuaries of North Devon with the lush green valleys of Torridge, the Tavy, the Walkham and the other evocative West Country rivers.
It’s crowning glory is the superb traffic-free Granite Way giving spectacular views from the north west flanks of Dartmoor.
Other traffic free sections include the Plym Valley Trail and the famous Tarka Trail between Braunton and Meeth.
Whilst the route can resemble a roller-coaster in part, it also has less demanding stretches tracing the course of former railway lines where the route takes you through tunnels and across breathtaking viaducts and bridges bequeathed by Victorian railway engineers
