    Introduction

    Tense situation in the global energy and climate warming is a serious threat to

    health, economic development and peoples lives today. In order to achieve

    sustainable development and development of access to a superior position in the

    future, countries around the world are looking for new energy alternative strategies.

    Solar energy for its clean, steady flow, security and other significant advantages

    are become a focus of attention. The solar water heaters conversion technology is

    undoubtedly the most mature technology, and its industrialization process are more

    photovoltaic cells, solar power and other industries are always one step ahead. So

    we will found a company named SUNNY HONNEY to start the solar water heater

    business in Singapore.

    SUNNY HONEY will be founded in 2011 as a limited partnership. It will be

    located in one part of Singapore. Company SUNNY HONEY provides component

    parts of solar water heater and markets solar water heater. The product will be sold

    directly to the target customers. According to the information that we got from the

    research, our market scope potentially encompasses 20% families in Singapore

    who are living in villa, and 10% families whose houses are able to use solar water

    heater. And as the developing of the science and technology, there is one type of

    solar water heater that can be installed on the porch is coming up with. Therefore

    we will focus on marketing this type of solar water heater to every family in

    Singapore in the future.

    SUNNY HONEY will be owned by GONG TAO, and there will be three more

    partners in the company, each of them holds 20% of the assets.

    This business plan outlines the Company Summary, Product and Service, Market

    Financial Plan, and Harvesting. And there are some other details included in each

    part of them.

    1.1 Objective (1-3years)

    Because we are going to do a new business in Singapore, and before we start to sell

    the solar water heater in this country, the families in this country have already get

    used to using the gas water heater and the electric water heater, so it is very

    difficult for us to start this business. But nowadays everything changed, every

    country are encourage people to save energy, to attempt to use green energy,

    because of this, even though they get used to using gas water heater and electric

    water heater, Our major objective is to let the solar water heater take the place of

    the gas water heater and electric water heater in the Singapore market. At the same

    time, making people aware the renewable energy is also one of our objectives.

    Besides, saving energy for this country is also our objective.

    As what I mention in Objective part, people who are living in Singapore have

    already get used to use the gas and electric water heater, for them, it is not only

    convenience but also very cheap to use gas and electric water heater. Therefore it is

    not easy for us to just sell the solar heater to them, we should do some other things,

    in another word, our mission is not only to sell solar water heater to our customers,

    but also to do some publicity to remind the people that saving energy, protecting

    environment is everybodys responsibility. Besides, we should also train our own

    workers to have the ability to install the solar water heater and to repair the solar

    water heater.

    SUNNY HONEY will be founded in 2011 by four students graduated from

    JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY. It will be located in one part of Singapore, it will

    started with a office that is 240 square meter, there are just the basic office

    facilities in that office at the beginning, and we will have our own marketing

    department, and we also will have our own workers who are excellent in installing

    and repairing. Our company SUNNY HONEY provides component parts of solar

    water heater and markets solar water heater. The products will be sold directly to

    the customer.

    2.3 Potential of Business

    According to the research we found that the population of Singapore is about 4

    million, and there are 0.8 million families. And most of these families are using

    electric water heater, there is just a few families use solar water heater, I even can

    say there is no families use solar water heater. This is the uniqueness of our

    product, so it is also tell us that there have a potential of market. But why there is

    no family use solar water heater even though the sunshine in Singapore is very

    strong, there are so many reasons, such as it is difficult to install solar water heater

    on the roof.(because most buildings in Singapore are very tall, however the solar

    water heater must be install on the roof of the building). And is also because of the

    government (the government of Singapore said that if the citizens who want to add

    or remove some parts of their house, the citizens must get the permission from

    them).May be because of these reasons, the Singaporean are always think that it is

    difficult to install the solar water heater. But nowadays we noticed that things are

    changing. Several days ago, we found a news from the Singapore newspaper that

    Singapore government are testing solar water in island that nearby Singapore. This

    news also tells us that there is a potential business for our company. And another

    new also get from the Singapore newspaper that to save energy Singapore

    government provides that the citizens who move into the HDB house within March

    of 2003 to March of 2004 can get a gas water heater free. From this news, we can

    notice that the government is paying more and more attention on save energy. And

    this also tells us that there will be a potential business for our company. Therefore,

    in summary, there are some information tells us there have a potential business for

    our company:

    Solar Water Heaters

    Solar water heatersalso called solar domestic hot water systemscan be a cost-

    effective way to generate hot water for your home. They can be used in any

    climate, and the fuel they usesunshineis free.

    Solar water heating systems include storage tanks and solar collectors. There are

    two types of solar water heating systems: active, which have circulating pumps and

    controls, and passive, which don't.

    Most solar water heaters require a well-insulated storage tank. Solar storage tanks

    have an additional outlet and inlet connected to and from the collector. In two-tank

    systems, the solar water heater preheats water before it enters the conventional

    water heater. In one-tank systems, the back-up heater is combined with the solar

    storage in one tank.

    Three types of solar collectors are used for residential applications:

    Glazed flat-plate collectors are insulated, weatherproofed boxes that contain a dark

    absorber plate under one or more glass or plastic (polymer) covers. Unglazed flat-

    jIntegral collector-storage systems

    Also known as ICS or batch systems, they feature one or more black tanks or tubes

    in an insulated, glazed box. Cold water first passes through the solar collector,

    which preheats the water. The water then continues on to the conventional backup

    water heater, providing a reliable source of hot water. They should be installed

    only in mild-freeze climates because the outdoor pipes could freeze in severe, cold

    weather.

    They feature parallel rows of transparent glass tubes. Each tube contains a glass

    outer tube and metal absorber tube attached to a fin. The fin's coating absorbs solar

    energy but inhibits radiative heat loss. These collectors are used more frequently

    for U.S. commercial applications.

    There are two types of active solar water heating systems:

    Pumps circulate household water through the collectors and into the home. They

    work well in climates where it rarely freezes.

    jIndirect circulation systemsPumps circulate a non-freezing, heat-transfer fluid through the collectors and a

    heat exchanger. This heats the water that then flows into the home. They are

    popular in climates prone to freezing temperatures.

    Passive solar water heating systems are typically less expensive than active

    systems, but they're usually not as efficient. However, passive systems can be more

    reliable and may last longer. There are two basic types of passive systems:

    jIntegral collector-storage passive systems

    These work best in areas where temperatures rarely fall below freezing. They also

    work well in households with significant daytime and evening hot-water needs.

    jThermosyphon systemsWater flows through the system when warm water rises as cooler water sinks. The

    collector must be installed below the storage tank so that warm water will rise into

    the tank. These systems are reliable, but contractors must pay careful attention to

    the roof design because of the heavy storage tank. They are usually more

    expensive than integral collector-storage passive systems.

    Solar water heating systems almost always require a backup system for cloudy

    days and times of increased demand. Conventional storage water heaters usually

    provide backup and may already be part of the solar system package. A backupsystem may also be part of the solar collector, such as rooftop tanks with

    thermosyphon systems. Since an integral-collector storage system already stores

    hot water in addition to collecting solar heat, it may be packaged with a demand

    (tankless or instantaneous) water heaterfor backup.

    Installing and Maintaining the System

    The proper installation of solar water heaters depends on many factors. These

    factors include solar resource, climate, local building code requirements, and safety

    issues; therefore, it's best to have a qualified, solar thermal systems contractor

    install your system.

    After installation, properly maintaining your system will keep it running smoothly.

    Passive systems don't require much maintenance. For active systems, discuss the

    maintenance requirements with your system provider, and consult the system's

    owner's manual. Plumbing and other conventional water heating componentsrequire the same maintenance as conventional systems. Glazing may need to be

    cleaned in dry climates where rainwater doesn't provide a natural rinse.

    3.2 Competitive Comparison

    For our company, the major competitors are the companies who are sell gas water

    heater and electric water heater. Besides, the solar energy companies who are near

    Singapore will be the competitors in the future, because they have their advantage

    which is nearer to Singapore. And in the future, the first type of competitor will

    still be the competitor of us, because when they found that people are begin to use

    solar water heater, they will also sell solar water heater. Our company has come up

    Within the 3 years in the future, we will focus one type of solar water that can be

    installed on the porch, instead of installing on the roof. When this type of solar

    water heater is produced, our target market will exceed to developed and

    developing countries. Actually, this type water heater has already been invented,

    but it still within the test period. Besides, as the developing of science and

    technology, we think the solar energy can be used better in some aspects.

    Therefore, we may be focus on coming up with solar cars as well.

    4.0 Market Analysis Summary

    First, after the research, we found that there are a few families use solar water

    heaters in Singapore. Therefore when we found this situation, it remind me a

    business story, the story is about that there is business men who is doing shoes

    business send one of his marketers to Europe to do the research to found whether

    there have a market, when the marketer arrive to Europe, he found there is nobody

    wear shoes, so he went back to tell his boss that there is nobody wear shoes in

    Europe, they do not need shoes, so there is no market in there. But there is another

    business man who also did the same thing, but when his marketer come back from

    Europe, he told his boss that there is nobody wear shoes, so there is big market for

    us, at the end of the story, the second boss successes in this market. And now the

    situation that we faced is very similar to what happen in the story. Therefore we

    choose to launch solar water heater in Singapore, and there will be a big market.

    Besides, if most of citizens use solar water, they will save some money and energy

    for themselves. At the same time they will save a lot of money and energy for their

    4.1Target Market Segmentation

    First, our target market is the families that are living in Singapore. And before we

    launch the solar water heater we have divided our target market in three parts, at

    the same time we also divided our launch time in three periods, we decided that at

    different period we will different part of customer. We divided the target market

    based on the type of the house that citizens are living. There are three types of

    houses in Singapore. 67% are HDB. This type of house is usually a little bit tall,

    and it is not very easy to install solar water heater on this type of house. Another

    type is condo, the characters of this type of house are tall and having a big porch,

    so it is also not very easy to install the solar water heater on the roof. And this type

    of house has taken 12% of the total house in Singapore. The third type of house is

    flat. The characters of this type of house are not tall and have a big roof s, so it is

    easy to install the solar water heater on the roof. After we segmented the target

    market, we also segmented our business time in several periods. They are starting

    period, the growth period, and the point period. At the start period, our target

    market will be the families who living in flats, because at beginning of our

    business, the technology and the skills are not very mature, we may not be able tosolve some complete problems, so we choose the easiest target market to start our

    business. After we found a big company to cooperate with, we will have more

    the building, we should get the permission from the government, so it is not easy to

    do that.

    spend me 500 dollar, and it is very useful, if I use it for a long time, it will help me

    Because the business that SUNNY HONEY will do are new business, and it is

    known to all that the beginning of doing everything is difficult, if we want to open

    this market, we should have good marketing strategies, and there are some

    marketing strategies that we will use. And these strategies will focus on the 4Ps of

    our product. So called 4Ps, they are product, promotion, place, and price.

    5.1.1 Strategies on product

    The first strategy that we decided is to build brand experience. In our opinion, if

    we want the customer to buy our product, we should let them know our product

    first, and most important thing is that they should trust the product as well. They

    should learn about that what kinds of values that our product can give to them. So

    in order to build the brand experience to customers, so we will choose Haier as our

    products supplier. Because the Haier is one of the top five company in the world

    that are producing solar water heater. Besides, when we buy the products from

    it means that, we will buy all the component parts of the solar water heater, and

    when we are going to sell them, we will make up are the component parts to get a

    finished goods, this strategy is very important, because it not only make

    according to the law of import tax, it specified that the tax of import finished goods

    will be higher than the semi-finished goods. Another strategy is the diversification

    house, we take the strategy is not bad even though the cost will a little high. We are

    also going to pay more attention on the quality of the product. For the package of

    our product, we think it is not very necessary for us to packaging it very nice but

    we should package it very well in order to protect the products, because the

    components of the solar water heater are not very hard.

    There are some strategies that we will take to do our promotion.

    using gas water heater and electric water heater. Based on this, we found that the

    most important thing for us first to do is not to do advertisement for our products.

    example of product, and this idea for us is like what the computer company did,

    during one year, they will hold computer show once or twice, and it is also did by

    the car company, they also hold the car show to let the customers to learn about

    their product, and depend on the nice look and the nice design to apple the

    customers. Besides, on the show, I will do the auction. How will we do the auction?

    Before the show, we will do the advertising so that we can tell people that they

    have the chance to get a solar water heater which is value 1500 or 2000 by one

    dollar. How can they get the solar water heater by one dollar? The people who

    come to the show, they will have a match which is about send message, we will

    give a number to people, we will see who is the first one send the message to us,and the people who is the first one send message to us, he or she will get a solar

    water heater by one dollar, by doing this, we will let people easier to recognize that

    the solar water heater is better than other water heater. And you will think that if
