TECHNOLOGY

This decade was filled with innovations, creations and revelations;

2003 - ITunes Music Store - the concept was simple: sell songs in digital format for less than a dollar and let buyers play them whenever and wherever they like-as long as it was on an Apple iPod.

2001- IPod -Apple announced in April 2007 that the 100 millionth iPod had been sold. Apple claims the iPod is the fastest-selling music player in history.

2005- YouTube- The most popular and successful invention in the year 2005 was YouTube. The website which achieved the greatest consumer response is a video-hosting website that lets users share videos across the globe. The website is currently one of the most famous websites in the world!

2004- Facebook- A social networking site that has more than 800 million active users. It was created by Mark Zuckerburg and his college roommates.

Technology from the 2000s influenced music due to the new technology that promoted it. The creation of YouTube was a way to let the public view music and increase the popularity of songs. Facebook was also used to advertise as users would promote song/artist through there statuses.

2001 9\11 TERRORIST ATTACK Songs were banned, albums rejiggered and tours postponed, but musicians also banded together, writing inspirational songs and raising over $170 million in the weeks after the terrorist attacks.

The US response to 9/11 prompted a lot of American bands to start playing anti-war and anti-government songs. It also caused many artists to become far more popular by playing songs that supported the military. If you pay attention, you'll notice that a lot of the country music that was released in the last decade was pro-military.
