...is that you only have to be just a little bit above mediocrity in order to succeed.

Ten Secrets: I will...1. Remind thyself, in the darkest moments, that every failure is

only a step toward success.

• Failures happen because there is something that we need to learn.

• Learning from failure is the first step towards going up.

2. Love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.

• I love the light because I love to see things, I love to see where I am going.

• I realize that I also have to accept and endure the darkness because there is beauty in it and will help me become more grateful for the light.

Ten Secrets: I will...

3. Count my blessings.• Just waking up in the morning is already a blessing. • Instead of grumbling and always complaining which is a very negative thing to do,

counting my blessings everyday instead of sheep will let me achieve a wonderful life for each day.

4. Treat everyone I meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight.

• I try my best not to take people for granted but sometimes, it just happens.• Treating everyone I meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight is good

practice so as not to take people for granted.

5. Know that my only limitations are those that I set up in my mind or permit others to set up for me.

• There are things that I want to do but I can’t get myself around to doing them because I think that I am not cut out for it or others tell me not to.

• I should always remember that I am the only one setting limitations for myself if I think of it or allow others to limit me.

6. Never feel shame for trying and failing• I should remember not to feel ashamed for trying and failing for it is in failing do we

learn and become stronger.

7. Never neglect the little things• The little things account for big, wonderful feelings. • It’s always the little things.

8. Set goals for the victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them

• Spontaniety may be fun and by all means, we should have enough dosages

of it in our lives but setting goals or having little achievements will help pave the way to success.

9. Greet this day with love in my heart

• Every morning, when I wake up, I can choose to be good or bad.

• I should always remember to greet the day with love in my heart

10. Act now• There is no better time than now. Not later, not tomorrow but now.

Techniques for perfecting that piece. For that great performance.

The Bow

Page 31: 20 Year Marketing Plan - Charis Bacolod

1. Begin with visualization • Imagine the melody, the piece. Now, imagine how the fingers glide over the

keyboard to deliver that piece.

2. Position the hands on the keys• Start at the best starting position. Everything will flow from there.

3. Forget the audience and focus• Before starting to play, the self must be centered and focused.

4. Hit the first note• Hitting the first note is just like taking the first step. Just hit the first note.

The Keys To SuccessThe Bow

Page 32: 20 Year Marketing Plan - Charis Bacolod

5. Play from the heart• Focus on the piece, get lost in the melody.

• Often times, the best way to win is to forget to keep score.

6. End with a clear note• The ending of the piece may be soft or loud but it should be clear and precise.

7. Acknowledge the audience and smile• After that performance, take to the audience. TAKE A BOW.

As a passion-driven servant, I succeed if my team wins because I have inspired them.

My team is my family, my officemates, my classmates, my former piano students and swimming teammates.

Winning does not depend on my team’s finishing the piece flawlessly.

Everyday, I use my God-given skills and talents in creating solutions and being driven by a passion for service that is prepared and uniquely customized is a goal that leads me to the finish.
