MARY’S MAGNIFICAT
My soul proclaims the greatnessof the Lord, my spirit rejoices inGod my Savior for he has lookedwith favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations
will call me blessed: the Almightyhas done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those whofear him in every generation. He has shown the strengthof his arm, he has scatteredthe proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mightyfrom their thrones, and has liftedup the lowly. He has illed thehungry with good things, andthe rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help ofhis servant Israel for he
remembered his promise ofmercy, the promise he madeto our fathers, to Abrahamand his children forever.

Dear OLM Parishioners:
As some of you might be aware, I serve as a member of the Chilton Medical Center Advisory Board.
I am reaching out to you on behalf of the health care professionals, who are very concerned about the Delta variant of Covid-19.
To that end, we are encouraging everyone who has not yet been vaccinated to do so as soon as possible. Research is showing the vaccines are protective against the variant and will serve to bring us to the herd immunity that we need. Some might be anxious about the effects of the vaccine, unfortunately which has been fueled by unscientific misinformation.
Therefore, I have asked some of our parishioners who are nurses to offer to speak with anyone who has concerns. Via this bulletin notice, I am also asking any medical professionals in the parish who would like to participate in speaking to parishioners who have questions/concerns about the vaccine. If you would like to serve in this information ministry please contact me or call the parish office with your name and contact information.
Covid-19 is a global health crisis and we can rely only on competent medical professionals for advice. Mere “opinion” is unhelpful and dangerous. Please help to protect yourself, your family and the community. Blessings, Fr. Ed
Pope Francis has announced a World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly to be celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday in July to honor all grandparents and the elderly who are so important to our communities and our Church. This new celebration will always fall near the Memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne (July 26), the grandparents of Jesus. God Bless You!

Today’s readings reassure you of God’s great love and mercy for His people. In our first reading the Prophet Jeremiah tells you; “My people will no longer fear and tremble, says the Lord, for behold the days are coming when I will appoint and raise up a righteous shoot from David, a Shepherd King who will do what is just and right, being called the Lord of Justice.” This promise has been fulfilled by Jesus. He is the Good and Merciful Shepherd who calls you out of your fear and worry, into His trust and peace. Saint Paul continues with; “by His Cross He has made us one body, giving us access in one Spirit to the Father, for He is our Peace.” What do you have to fear once you truly believe that the Lord is always by your side loving you? Today we find Jesus trying to spend some ‘alone time’ listening to the Apostle’s account of what they taught, where they went and what they did, once they returned from last weeks journey, but instead a great crowd awaited them. The gospel tells you; “when Jesus saw the vast crowd His heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd, so He began to teach them many things.” Like the Apostles you have been sent on a journey to share the Peace, Love and Mercy of Christ. Jesus desires to teach you many things, so have you scheduled some ALONE TIME with Him? IN THE SILENCE OF YOUR HEART HE WILL SPEAK TO YOU BUT…… ARE YOU LISTENING??? Would you like to complete your Sacraments? Please call Carol Mangani at 973-283-2218.
“Let the Church always be a place of mercy and hope, where everyone is welcomed, loved, and forgiven.” (Pope Francis)
The Church can also be a place to heal. We are called to “be merciful like the Father.” So many suffer from the effects of abortion. The Archdiocese of Newark Respect Life Office will be hosting two upcoming Rachel’s Vineyard retreats to heal the wounds from abortion.
Retreat dates are September 10-12, 2021 Contact the Respect Life Office for more details by calling 973-497-4350 or by email [email protected]
The OLM Ladies Guild is offering hand-made prayer shawls to our parishioners, their friends and family members who are in need of comfort during a difficult time due to sickness or loss. If interested contact Diane Lattanzion at [email protected]
First Reading: Jeremiah 23:1-6 In this passage, God denounces false leaders who have scattered his people. He promises that they will be reunited and led by one who is just and wise. Second Reading: Ephesians 2:13-18 Paul explains that through Jesus Christ, there is no longer hostility between Gentile and Jew. Instead, through the Spirit of Christ, both groups become one body and are equal in the eyes of God. Gospel: Mark 6:30-34 The apostles returned after their first mission and told Jesus what they had done and taught. He told them to rest, but the people kept coming to them. So they went to find a private place, but the people learned where they were going and arrived first. Jesus felt sorry for them and decided to teach them instead of resting.
“The guys at Pry are friendly and great. They are honest and prices are fair.
They treat you like family!”
